  1. what more can Fewell do with a wildly mediocre QB and a bad offensive line? I think most (possibly all) of the criticism comes from people that really only want a big name coach to come in. I just think minds should be kept open.
  2. regardless of injuries, I think if Fewell was coaching from the beginning we'd have a few more wins. I struggle to come up with anything that Fewell is doing wrong as a coach. Penalties are way down. 4th down decisions have been smart. The running game has re-emerged. Special teams has re-emerged as a dominant unit and we're playing tough. Plus we're winning games with a crumby qb and no offensive tackles.
  3. sign him and put him on meds, make it part of his contract
  4. not a big fan of either Martz or Billick. Both are viewed as arrogant primadonnas who, a long time ago, ran successful offenses. Billick at least was wise enough to not let his terrible offenses get in the way of winning. Grimm? I just have a feeling that there must be a reason that people keep passing him over for head coach jobs. I guess I'd take Billick of the three. I'd rather stick with Fewell and get a real football GM and a top offensive coordinator.
  5. love this album! I have it on vinyl and play it often
  6. remarkably if we win out that scenario doesn't seem all that unlikely wow
  7. he's just not very good, and never was as good as billed. In NE he's been viewed as a major disappointment during his whole tenure there. He's one of those tremendous physical talents that just isn't a great football player. He got lucky that he played for a loaded Ravens defense where his shortcomings could be masked.
  8. yeah, i only take Claussen or Bradford in the first and I doubt they'll last to us. I think McCoy and Pike might still be around in the 2nd round. If not then somebody like Canfield or LeFevre later. No reaching or trading up for a qb - just take the value if it's there
  9. I find it hard to believe that Pike will last till the 3rd round. But to get Cody and Pike would be a good draft IMO. Don't know too much about Selvish Capers.
  10. agreed. the last thing we need is more people that should only be playing right tackle, I think we have 4 of them on the roster now.
  11. I think Poz and Mitchell could play ILB. I think Stroud would be an end in a 3-4. I think Kyle Williams could play nose. Not all nose tackles in 3-4's have to be 350 lbs (remember Jeff Wright). Probably not the long term ideal though. Schobel though isn't really an easy fit - it would be kind of dumb to make him try and learn to play rush linebacker when he's our most effective lineman but, it would be kind of dumb to leave him as an end in 3-4 since it would neutralize his strengths. without adding anyone new here would be my 3-4 defense next year: line - Spencer Johnson or Kelsay, Williams, Stroud LBers - Schobel, Poz, Mitchel, Harris with Maybin subbing in on the edges situationally
  12. I'd say DT and LB are both bigger priorities than OG.
  13. I wouldn't be against bringing in Brohm, but only if, you know, he's demonstrated anything in practice that shows he's capable of playing. You forget that the rest of the team would be putting their neck out for some kid that just showed up and probably doesn't even know what's going on.
  14. geez, this game isn't nearly as close as the score would indicate. hopefully that will change soon.
  15. that's right. I'm of the opinion that everything that goes right is due to Jauron not being the coach anymore while everything that goes wrong is due to Jauron's lingering legacy....
  16. so far another fairly penalty free game by us - Its really an indictment of Jauron's ability to instill focus
  17. ugh classic rookie mistake there. but good play by D
  18. sidenote on NE - they're proving that if you have a bad secondary you are in big trouble in the NFL.
  19. Shawn Nelson has had some nice catches over the past 3 or 4 weeks
