  1. Quite a contrast from Parcells who when asked why he didn't go for a 2 point conversion in last night's game replied "Because I didn't want to". Although Parcells often provides great entertainment to the audience with his post game remarks.
  2. Yes, as premature as calling Willis a top tier RB.
  3. What would make you think that Nall would end up a better QB than JP?
  4. Dress only 7 lineman a game? Sounds a little scary. Does anyone know if that is typical around the league?
  5. That's 4 minutes longer than most of us need.
  6. Well they certainly put themselves on an island picking the Dolphins in the superbowl. Doubt there will another single national publication that predicts that. It doesn't hurt because it's too laughable.
  7. Randy Cross is a penile cranium. Always was.
  8. Good move by the Bills. Preston looks like the only decent depth on the O-line. Gotta hope we have another guard and couple of tackles that can play if needed.
  9. He'll self destruct off the field. South Florida is a perfect place for him to be. He'll be surrounded by trouble opportunities. Very much in his comfort zone. If he doesn't make the team big brother can subsidize his antics.
  10. So many variables.... Last year after watching a Bills game in which Kelly Holcomb was the QB, I turned to a Colts game. Immediately I noticed how few defensive players were playing "in the box" against the Colt's offense. There stood Manning in the shotgun with 4 defensive lineman in rush mode and the balance of the defense back pedaling to cover Harrison and the rest of the receivers in the pattern. This didn't go on for 1 play, but for he game overall. In contrast, the Bill's offense appeared to be blocking the entire defense on many plays last year. They could not run or pass. The Bill's opponents simply showed no respect for the Bill's offense. On the other page was Manning standing in the pocket looking downfield without a strong pass rush or handing the ball off to the RB who found some daylight often. I'd say you need a good line and good potential passing and running game. No chicken or egg, but decent capability in all 3 areas. The Bills won't score big until Losman proves he can throw deep. Teams early in the season will likely plan to defend run first and dare the kid to beat them. If he can do that, Willis can get some open space which he needs to get yards. He has not shown that he is a good between the tackles runner yet. Then the Bills can win some games.
  11. There's nothing like completing a few long balls to get the safeties backing up. It'll be critical to the run game.
  12. Anyone see the game last night, Denver/Houston? Carr (who looks lousy still) throws a deep ball down the left sideline with a lot of air under it. Moulds couldn't get to it and if you watched his stride, he cleary doesn't have that last gear he once had to get to those balls. Lee Evans would have got it and scored. A great player for all those years with the Bills, but it looks like it was good timing to let him go. Hope he's happy in Houston. Looks to me like he's in the same situation there as if he were in Buffalo. Playing as #2 with an unproven QB on a poor team for less $$. He deserves a better end to his career.
  13. What this also shows is that Jauron was willing to give the guy a chance but won't play favorites with his old comrades. Anthony Thomas, keep renting for now.
  14. You know, cutting a whole team could be a good idea. Last year teams like the Saints and Texans were at about max against the salary cap. What did they get from that, a couple of wins? Can you imagine paying that in salaries for those results? Add the 49ers to that list. If I'm them I cut the whole darned team and start fresh. Get rid of the coaches and front office too. Go get some free agents and draft choices and start fresh. Maybe Donald Trump will buy the NY Jets and fire everybody.
  15. That's good news because all the players can afford it even at the minimum salary. Should be a wild opener.
  16. Oh come on everyone, the Bills are absolutely rebuilding. Let's hope they do a good job of it.
  17. He got the burst from Willis who according to so many on this board regained it last week. Willis obviously handed it to Peerless for this week. I wonder who will have it in game 1?
  18. You've made valid points according to who? Or is it Whom? Your comment about having something to prove can be applied to everyone from Ralph Wilson to the front office, the coaching staff and all of the players. Yes, it's motivating for all but they have yet to prove anything in terms of wins and losses. Odds are that not everyone will be able to turn that potential or motivation into a great performance, because some just don't have enough talent. Gibson may make the team because the O-line has no depth. I doubt he could make the Patriots team even though you think he fits like a glove. A very large glove. So as they say here in Chicago, Who you crappin?
  19. The Bill's defense doesn't look ready to beat anyone yet and so far the Bills show very little ability to run the ball on offense. They'll be an underdog until they get those 2 things fixed. Look for Brady to have a great day in the opener. I'd love to be wrong.
  20. Let him start!
  21. Yes, feeling that way is strange.
  22. Actually Mike Williams, a safety, retired from the Detroit Lions in the '80's.
  23. No, it's just been too long a wait for the regular season to start. Let's get on with it!
  24. 4.24? Maybe wind aided downhill. He's more hype than anything. Mostly because he has overcome a big injury, was a surprise choice in the first round, and has a loud mouth idiot for an agent. When he plays 16 games and averages better than 4.5 per carry we can celebrate.
