  1. I for one would like to see if Sam Aiken's size can be put to good use in this offense.
  2. They showed it by making the trip to Denver even though they know they have no chance of winning, and with the knowledge that they are the doormat of the NFL.
  3. He was miserable. I think he's mentioned in every thread started since the game this afternoon. Gonna be a long week for him.
  4. Watch the Bears tomorrow night. They play this defense and have the talent (starters and depth) to do it well. Bills talent several rungs down the ladder from them. Tough to fix D-line and O-line in just 1 year when you need some new players. Took the Bears 2-3 years to develop the D-line they have now.
  5. Mike Gandy should return his paycheck uncashed this week. He looked like one of those guys in the film Invinceable trying out for the Eagles. Put a blue cape on him!
  6. How about one of each and a guard too.
  7. What were you listening to? Tasker questioned why McGee wasn't back there. My question would be if not McGee, why not Clements who was darn good in the past as punt returner.
  8. Oh, come on. The Raiders? I think they have now eclipsed the Cardinals as the worst franchise in the NFL, mostly due to Al Davis who looks to be suffering from dimensia and won't let go of the team for its own good. They aren't giving much effort for Shell, and Art even challenged them publically on their effort a couple weeks back.
  9. Of course he does. There is little pass protection and Kelly Holcomb is wispering in his ear on the sidelines before every series.
  10. This can't be a real question.
  11. Couldn't agree more, and I might get a beer right now.
  12. The Braves franchise did survive in some fashion after sold and I believe became the franchise known as the LA Clippers in a very indirect route. Braves went to conference finals one year against the 76ers I think and gave them everything they could handle. Starting 5 was McAdoo, Garfield Heard, Jim MacMillan, Ernie D and Randy Smith as I recall. That was a great team for a couple years and Jack Ramsey was a terrific coach. I once sat at the broadcast table next to Van Miller for a half of a game. Had the opportunity as my Dad's company was a radio advertiser on WBEN Radio back then and they did this for advertisers from time to time. I was 12 years old and Van gave me a meaningless job of tracking commercials after they were aired to make sure that each sponsor's ad was run in the correct sequence. Of couse I had no cotrol over the ads that were running. That seat was at the right end of the player's bench and I met several of the players during the pregame and held of few sweaty towels during the first half. A great experience then. Really missed the team after they left town.
  13. Schoebel is fine if the Bills have 3 other above average lineman to play with him. Right now the other 3 spots look to be average or below.
  14. The Bear's 2nd string might be #2 in the NFL.
  15. The perfect week will be when the trainers determine that he can play full speed without more than the ordinary risk of injury.
  16. At first I was disappointed to see this thread at the top of the list this morning, but after reading the the last few posts, my day is off to a good start.
  17. Yes, but completing passes to several receivers in a game is not the same as looking at more than 1 receiver on a given play and then passing to the last one that you look at. JP missed a number of open receivers yesterday, but all QBs do that to some extent. That should get better over time. Parrish, in particular, was open a couple times yesterday including one of the interceptions. Grossman yesterday did a beautiful job on the first TD to Berrian of looking the safety off to Grossman's left and then coming back to the right to a wide open Berrian. Our safety was on the other half of the field when that ball was thrown.
  18. He would. He also had the quickness to play this new defense I believe.
  19. No, McCargo is a "3". In this defense the bigger stronger guy is where Williams and Anderson are playing. The Bills do need a wrecker in there. Jury still out on Williams, but Anderson is likely to be replaced IMO. The Bears have 8 D-Lineman that can really play. 8 starters or near-starting quality guys that they have accumulated over the past 4 years or so.
  20. The weather at the game was fabulous!
  21. Yes. You've got to play hard for 60 minutes regardless. If you lose, and the coaches see poor effort from players (even late in the game) when reviewing the tape, those players are in trouble.
  22. If for some reason Spikes can no longer play, the Bills will be shopping for a linebacker next year.
  23. Yup. The important thing is how they respond.
  24. Having bought 8 tickets for the game today, I certainly hope the Bills can find a way to win. Don't know where you have formed your opinion that Grossman is not a good QB, but the guy is playing at a very high level. Satistically near the top of the league and with a running game averaging only 3.0 yards per carry so far this year. Grossman is carrying the team offensively with great passing. They didn't play great against the Vikings, but at the end of the game when they needed a score to Win, Grossman takes the team down the field and into the endzone (on a pass) to win the game. For a guy with only about 10 starts, he's exceeding expectations. Like Losman, he is a great athlete, has a strong arm and uses those abilities. This will be a stiff test for the Bills defense today.
