  1. He's a young QB in his first full season as a starter (like Losman). He's had his ups and downs but will be a good one before his career is over IMO. It was a very tough day to throw in Chicago yesterday and he often threw with a pass rusher in his face against the Saints. In better weather he'll play better.
  2. Gary's is crummy, but the Midwest overall is great. Chicago area in particular. Robust economy, great sports and entertainment, great education and a lot of great people. I like the Bears to win with great defense and a strong running game.
  3. Unless it is revealed that one or both of them have white ancestors. What a contoversy that would be.
  4. I think I'm the only one on this board that had it right. Now, the Bears will win in Miami. The Big play defense is back and the Bears can run the heck out of the ball.
  5. Or for what team
  6. The Bils lost to all of these teams. The Pats look like they will beat them all when it counted. That's the difference. If it were so easy, other teams would do it.
  7. Rosenhaus is a whore. He will want to get a deal done because that's what puts money in his pocket. He'll rattle his swords publically and say the right things at the right time in whatever way supports his cause. Truth or not. He has to know that Willis's value is mediocre right now and will opt for the "bird in the hand" unless he feels the upside in waiting along with the risk of waiting is really worth it. He'll encourage Willis to sign a new deal if it's best for himself (Drew). He'll BS Willis as much as the Bills if that is what is necessary to get the deal done.
  8. You're in the ballpark.
  9. Grimm not head coach material due to some off field habits.
  10. Nothing sells like contoversy. It's a shame we can't have lengthy threads about the great ones. Lee is on his way to being great.
  11. Colts - Bears. Saints are a great storyt this year, but the Bears will prevail at home. Bears Defense will make the big plays (turnovers) to win, and the Bears will run the ball on a snowy messy field.
  12. I'm hoping Ralph will surprise some people this offseason. Not that he should be reckless, but at his age, he just wants to win. He said this last year when he hired Marv. Hopefully he takes advantage of the Bill's position cap-wise and the Bills are players this off-season in free agency. Although the free agent list is not impressive.
  13. NFL teams pay big bucks to guys that can be 100% correct in evaluating players. Gotta be a fun job also working for a pro football team. Polish up your resume. NFL teams will be standing in line to hire you.
  14. Might be better to close the border on Sundays and on all days when the Leafs play the Sabres in Buffalo.
  15. You can eliminate Coughlin from coaching the Giants in '09.
  16. Like a magazine that gives out free subscriptions to pad their circulation numbers.
  17. Based on this, if he's healthy the 4th baby should be born at about week 8 next year. Right about when he cracks the 4000 yard mark.
  18. I hadn't considered that, but if they're covering football it might be a good idea.
  19. JP and his publicist have done a better job publically than Willis and Co. Might have something to do with attending off-season workouts, studying a lot of film with coaches in the off-season, keeping his love life under wraps and not being interviewed by Penthouse or that trashy Orlando reporter that did the Baby momma bit. Who mentors Willis? Other players from the"U"? His agent Drew Rosenhaus? There's a good influence. Willis and his public image are products of the environment. Willis should change it up. He benefits from that.
  20. It's time we stop giving him credit for coming back from the knee injury. OK, he did it. Athletes and people in all walks of life do it. It's time he became known for his play on the field. His determination and success. His good attitude and good behavior. He's bottomed out here in Buffalo (in the public eye). The only way is up.
  21. Darned right. Good to see someone make a principled decision.
  22. OK. I've bashed Willis plenty on this board but look at it this way. Maybe Willis has bottomed out right now. Coming off an uninspiring year, he has said a bunch of stupid stuff to media people that ask him baited questions. He's fathered apparently at least 3 kids. Maybe as of now he starts to get a clue. Maybe the Bills recognize where he stands right now and get him some mentoring. Give him a little advice. Willis figures out what to say and what not to say in public. He realizes that having 3 baby mommas each reaching into one of his pockets is painful. He doesn't like the public critism directed his way. Maybe somebody reminds him that at his position, even if he is healthy and productive, he has 5-7 good years left in his football career. He realizes, Holy schitt, he better get going. Suddenly he commits himself in the off season to improvement. He attends the optional activities in Buffalo. He stays in town more to study film. Meets with coaches. He works on his footspeed and footwork with a good trainer. Maybe he gets a new contract, maybe he doesn't. The Bills make some off-season upgrades on the O-line. Either way, he feels he has something to prove next year. He shows up at training camp ready to go. He gives maximum effort on each play in each game. He plays smarter. He has the kind of year people hope for. Pipe dream? Maybe not. Guys do grow up during their NFL careers. Not all, but why not Willis? He might take that step this next year.
  23. Signing them then would have been Donohoe's doing or not. I can understand the new regime wanting to evaluate these guys for a year first, but the cost of doing that is free agancy.
