  1. I don't see race in this either, just very poor application of a badly written law. Hopefully a good attorney reads this and gets involved (without fees) to resolve this.
  2. I don't think Holcomb is very expensive and don't see him leaving unless we get a clear #2 (Nall or someone else). I think the jury is still out on Nall. Will need another training camp and preseason to evaluate.
  3. It could easily be argued that Lynn Swann has no business being in the HOF. His numbers are weak (less than 5500 yards and 336 receptions. He was lucky to play for the Steelers. HOF voting process is very subjective and political as well.
  4. These are all good questions. Anyone know the answers? Really know?
  5. Looks to me like you're complaining about complainers that complain.
  6. Put yourself in the player's shoes. You visit 4-5 teams as a free agent, you get 2 offers. One for 4 years from the Bills, $10 signing bonus with a total package of $25 million. Second offer is for 5 years, $15 signing bonus, $32 million total package. Higher offer is from a good team. You meet the people, you like them, you like where they are headed. You go back to the Bills and they don't want to match the better offer. What would you do? I would pack my bags unless the situation in Buffalo compelled me to stay for other reasons. If the Bills were on the verge of a championship, maybe. Maybe not. $5 million goes a long way over the course of a lifetime.
  7. And by the way, I've landed a role as a dead guy in "Pirates of the Caribbean III".
  8. Not a caption, but oh my god Al looks like schitt.
  9. Not true. Not even close. They may have mentioned that he was interviewed and if so it was done as a courtesy. I have inside info here. Will leave it at that, but I really don't care. It's Pittsburgh.
  10. I look at it this way. The guy has bottomed out (hopefully). If he figures out how to get the most out of his talent and gets a little PR help, the Bills have themselves a keeper. Bills have a lot invested in him and I would expect them to make the effort to help him. Give him an incentive laden extension and some mentoring and we might all be surprised by the results. No reason to think he can't mature.
  11. Substitute "Eli" for the word "Playoffs"
  12. Why do all signs point to no? I don't think Bills have said anything publically about their positon on Nate other than they'd like to have him back.
  13. I like the sound of this punter. Bills can grab him making him both the punter and outside linebacker while moving Crowell to MLB with the possible departure of Fletcher. Moorman gets moved to WR where he gives the bills that taller receiver they've been looking for. Josh Reed moves to RB while Willis takes the year off to attend Planned Parenthood. Bills save a roster spot and some salary allowing them to re-sign Clements.
  14. Any team can spend a lot if they are willing to put themselves in a poor position cap-wise in subsequent years by paying big bonuses up front on a few players. Redskins have done it but don't have the results to show for it. Fact is that they and other teams have higher payrolls in given years (cash-wise not cap-wise) and have the cash based on greater revenue/profit. That just means that if a couple teams want to compete to sign a big name free agent, they might be able/willing to outspend the incumbent team for that player. Cap rules allow for payrolls to exceed the cap figure. A true cap would eliminate that, but players union and larger market teams don't want that.
  15. Rusty headed to Miami with the Bears and they think very highly of him. His name brought up frequently in Chicago as a difference maker.
  16. That would be more impressive than the signing itself.
  17. He was never a candidate for the Pittsburgh job.
  18. Hard to know if Nate still wants to be in Buffalo, but I would expect the Bills to offer him a competitive contract.
  19. I think they will because I think Manning will be under pressure unlike any pass rush he has seen this year.
  20. I'll go with Ron Rivera, Bears DC.
  21. Baloney. He had some health problems in recent years, he coached for 3 years in Dallas as he said he would and he's not a young man anymore. He's had a fabulous career, lke him or not.
  22. Cowher won't be coaching anywwhere for a couple years.
  23. Exactly and they have done a better job of filling holes in their roster over the past 10 years than anyone in the league IMO. No reason to think they can't replace a few more old parts. They have a successful formula like it or not.
  24. I'm with you. Colts will have trouble with Bear defense and the Bears can run the heck out of the ball.
  25. Darned right. Both are gentleman and very professional.
