  1. Don't expect the Bengals to ever be the opponent for a Toronto game. They'd have trouble fielding a team.
  2. He might go light on Marshawn for that reason. Tough part is that you live with whatever he decides. Few appeals from players have overturned any of his decisions.
  3. Gosh, ya think that after his comments about the police after the boating incident that they had their oeye on him? The Guy's an idiot to play the race card and then be out late driving under the influence. They don't charge people until they administer a test or the driver refuses the test. He's toast.
  4. Go read the NFL's player conduct policy. That will make it clear for you. The league operates on a separate standard of conduct which does not require that he be convicted or even charged. Goodell is Judge and Jury.
  5. Then you must be confident he was not in the car, that a friend borrowed it for the evening and Marshawn was tucked away in bed at the time. If he's in the car at all, and even if he is not charged with anything, the league will investigate and likely penalize him for violating the league's conduct policy which specifically states that acts that are harmful to others are punishable.
  6. I think most of these guys can coach circles around "Captain Conservatism". Most, but not all. ".
  7. Would you accept Rich Kotite? Hmmmm..... I think Rich would have gotten more wins because he would have stuck with JP all year.
  8. I'm sure the police will put their case together very carefully before they file any charges, and they don't have to be in a hurry. Hopefully, there is a reasonable explanation for what has happened and this all turns out to be no big deal for anyone, most importantly the girl who was hit.
  9. Really? name some, and I won't accept Hank Bullough or Kay Stevenson. Actually, Jauron is alot like Kay. Nice guy who'll finish last, but he's really nice.
  10. He's not alone. Too bad the NFL can't put their players into a freezer somewhere and thaw them out on Sundays a few months a year. One bad apple.........
  11. A professional "fall guy" for NFL players could make a handsome living each year.
  12. If there's an underrated coach on the Bills staff, my vote goes to Perry Fewell.
  13. Every player in the NFL is bound by the conduct policy in the collective bargaining agreement which holds them to strict standards and permits the commissioner to be both judge and jury. Here's a link. http://www.purplepride.org/nfl/conduct.cfm
  14. He's done nothing in his career to be considered "uderrated". Everything points to him being a below average head coach. Nothing short of him and his teams "showing me otherwise" will change this opinion. I've watched him closely in every season he's been a head coach.
  15. Yes, and let's not exclude the latinos and mexicans while we're at it.
  16. My point continues to be missed, but first of all I sincerely hope that the end result of this is that Marshawn is not involved beyond owning the car and that he is not subject to any discipline from the league or the law. While there is no known conduct at this point, more info in the coming days will reveal something, good or bad. My point is simply that if he has any involvement in this and even if he is not charged or convicted of anything, there will likely be a league review at the very least. The league can impose penalties even if the player is not found guilty and not charged. Below is a link to the NFL conduct policy and here are a couple of excerpts. It is not enough simply to avoid being found guilty of a crime. Instead, as an employee of the NFL or a member club, you are held to a higher standard and expected to conduct yourself in a way that is responsible, promotes the values upon which the League is based, and is lawful. Persons who fail to live up to this standard of conduct are guilty of conduct detrimental and subject to discipline, even where the conduct itself does not result in conviction of a crime Conduct that imposes inherent danger to the safety and well being of another person; Upon learning of conduct that may give rise to discipline, the League will direct an investigation, which may include interviews and information gathering from medical, law enforcement, and other relevant professionals http://www.purplepride.org/nfl/conduct.cfm
  17. You're wrong too. The NFL conduct policy does not require that the league punish only "guilty" players.
  18. Well, you're wrong about Goodell and the NFL and that's my point. The NFL Players agreement includes a code of conduct and players can (and are) disciplined for conduct alone. Vick was suspended prior to being arrested. Packman was suspended the last time for just being in the room in Vegas where someone was killed. He was not charged in that incident. Tank Johnson was suspended long before he was convicted. The NFL standard of conduct (which is a contract) is different than that of the law.
  19. I don't know who was driving, but you don't leave the scene. You just don't. Last year a 10 year old girl ran into the side of my wife's car while she was driving. Yes, never looked while running across the street and ran right into the side of our car. My wife stayed, took the heat and it all got resolved with no problems. No lawyers. The girl had worse injuries than this other person. Guarantee you that had my wife fled the scene, the outcome would have been different.
  20. This may all be true. The problem is that the commissioner looks at more than the law. He considers the manner in which the player resolves the issue. If marshawn hides behind the law and then is found guilty or is found to be obstructing the criminal investigation in some way, old Roger is gonna punish him for that.
  21. I suspect there will be some revealing news on the matter Wednesday.
  22. The simplest thing to do here is blame JP for any poor line play. Not to worry, Trent will solve everything.
  23. Or just put him up there as Scott Norwide, then nobody could argue with the election.
  24. Seriously, what the hell has Edwards done to deserve a higher rating? Really! Get the rose colored glasses off. He's barely not a rookie who has played very little and not done a whole lot when he's been in there. In addition, he didn't have big numbers in college.
