  1. 7-8 wins and the fans want Jauron's head on a platter. Nice guys finish last.
  2. Jauron was a defensive back when he played. Jauron's first coaching job was to coach defensive backs. Jauron likes the Cover-2 defense which keeps defensive backs away from the line of scrimmage. Jauron has a say in who the Bills draft. Jauron had a WR convert to defensive back. When the other team is in a passing situation, Jauron likes to put on the field more defensive backs. Many players that play special teams are also defensive backs. Jauron likes defensive backs.
  3. Agree. The Bills have certainly upgraded the talent on the team. It's time they get some results in the W-L category to show for it.
  4. The sky is not falling yet. A new season will soon be upon us and the coaches and players have a great opportunity to put the added talent and experience to work. There are fewer places to hide and the results will speak for themselves.
  5. You tend to throw more when you're playing from behind which is quite possible against a good Seattle team.
  6. These things are usually ugly before they get resolved. Hopefully Peters is on time to camp and the differences get worked out at some point. With 3 years to go on his deal, he's not in the best position to sit.
  7. You think that anyone in the Bills' organization would be happy with 6-7 wins this year? You think the fans that buy tickets and such would be happy with 6-7 wins this year? You think that the fans and the Bills leadership would be happy with Jauron if the team wins 6-7 games this year?
  8. So if the Bills win 6-7 games this year the coach should get a vote of confidence from the owner?
  9. This is all very simple. Dick has his hand picked OC and QB, an upgraded defense in terms of personnel, the rebuilt offensive line, more WR's and he's in his 3rd year in the organization. Just go out and win. Win 9 or more ball games and show us that you have this program on track and that you're capable of moving the team forward with the better tools that the front office has provided.
  10. So Edwards this year will out-play Brett Favre if Favre plays somewhere? I do agree that Favre being a Bill is a waste. The Buffalo coaches wouldn't know what to do with a guy like Favre.
  11. Like I said, you're entitled to your opinion. You may choose to guage the head coach based particularly on the play of 3 players if you like. I don't think many will join you in that way.
  12. You're entitled to your opinion. Only wins matters when you're the HC. If the Bills will 7-8 games this year you can still believe he's a good coach and give him the vote of confidence if you like. If they do better than that then he's made some progress.
  13. This is all great stuff. Regardless of what any of us think, Jauron will be evaluated on his W-L record. I just happen to be in the camp that doesn't think he'll win a playoff game as coach of the Bills. Go ahead, Dick, show me I'm wrong. It's that simple.
  14. The debate will end when Trent proves on the field for an entire season that he's worthy of the starting position. It's really that simple.
  15. Kinda like some of those baseball stats such as: 3rd best batting average among 1st year catcher's when playing during the day on days above 70 degrees against right handers with nobody on base.
  16. You may not like comments that question Jauron's capability as a head coach but there is simply no argumaent that can be substantiated that he is anything but average at best (and probably below average) as a head coach. His teams in Chicago, Detroit and Buffalo have rarely beat quality opponents. Don't throw the 13-3 Bears at me. I watched nearly every game that season. They were incredibly lucky and after getting a bye and home field advantage were dismantled by the wild card Eagles. Getting below average or average talent to 6 or 7 wins a year is not the same as achieving playoff wins with good talent. There are few coaches in the league with more to prove than him IMO.
  17. Yeah, that's folding or if you look at the record last year, the Bills did not win against even average teams. The schedule had a number of weak opponents on it and they were better than the weakest of teams but never a contender to make the playoffs. '08 is another rebuilding year and the best opportuity to see what the coaching staff is or isn't made of.
  18. Probably. Gotta save room on the roster for more DBs.
  19. It's amazing how poorly he has managed his talent.
  20. Can't believe you all missed this one. JP Losman
  21. I think the front office has done a good job the last couple years upgrading the talent and at some positions in dire need. This is a young team that might be a darned good one in a couple years if the coaches can develop the players and schemes and the front office keeps the key free agents and continues to add talent. The coaching staff has enough to work with now IMO to move the team forward in the W-L category. Anything less than 9-7 to me would reflect poorly on the coaches.
  22. I find your avatar photo to be the perfect compliment to a discussion about tight ends.
  23. Bernie got laid when he was dead didn't he?
