Well, he hasn't had a hall of fame cast of receivers in Green Bay either. They've had a revolving door at receiver his whole career. He just put up numbers with whoever they had on that roster. He'll make the Jets a far better team and he'll teach their receivers a ton and I wouldn't rule out the Jets trying to get another receiver from somewhere. The Jets have certainly made some meaningful upgrades to their team this off-season. They won't be a pushover this year.

Peters does deserve to be paid more if he continues to play at the level he did last year and/or better. However, since he is not preparing for the upcoming season like the rest of the team and may not be willing to play, he is worth absolutely nothing in terms of compensation. As far as I'm concerned, he has zero leverage in this thing and fukk him if he continues to holdout. I'd rather the Bills go on without him than cave into his ploy. He can sit and rot for 3 years. The friggin owners should simply adopt a policy not to negotiate with any player that holds out. If Peters wants to blame anyone, he should blame his agent for not negotiating greater incentives into his previous deal if he made the pro-bowl or otherwise outperformed the agreement. Get a new agent, Jason. Your guy didn't serve you well 2 years ago and isn't serving you well now.

I think that's about where they'll end up with Peters given the schedule (which I think is not as easy as many posters here believe) and the limitations of the coaching staff. Hope to be wrong and surprised but I think Jauron's true colors will be even more exposed this season. Wonderful guy, but not a winner as an NFL head coach.

I think the Packers will make Rogers the starter if he shows "poise" in the preseason.

There is a simple answer to this. Walker is paid like a starting left tackle so let him start there. Peters is paid like an average center so let him play center. Cut Fowler and save even more $.

We should all relax. Peters will be in camp at some point. Don't forget that the Bills are negotiating with Evans now (who is in camp) and might want to get that done before addressing Peters. Really the Bills hold all the cards with Peters. Peters has nowhere to go. He'll be the first to crack in the stare-off. He has no choice.

Stay out of the negotiation business. You're prepared to cave on this way too early. Peters will be fine and in the starting lineup on opening day ready to go.

It's pretty clear to me that Eugene Parker's workload with holdouts is very high right now. He'll get to Peters in due time.

Since Bill knows so much about football, I think it will be more fun to see if he's right that JP will never be anything but a backup in NFL and that Trent will blossom into something quite good.
