  1. That's what Jauron wants, a game manager.
  2. You might be right, but let's see this thing play out for the rest of the pre-season. Let's see if Trent responds and how. Although the coaches on this team probably don't have the balls to start JP on opening day even if he's the better guy.
  3. 1 playoff game would pay for the better coach. Like many things in life, the cheaper solution is often not cheaper.
  4. 7-9 will always look good compared to the bottom of the league so if that's your yardstick, Jauron is OK. He's coached some teams with below average talent and generated below average results. What remains to be seen is if he can win with better talent. The front office appears to have upgraded the talent in Buffalo significantly over 2 years ago. If you believe that (as I do) then you have to hold the coach responsible for generating results with that. This is his year to do that, to be measurably better than 7-9. For me that means 9 wins or more or you consider a change.
  5. I hope so, but Brandon IMO has to remain firm here, even if it means starting the regular seaon without him if he doesn't report to camp.
  6. He played poorly at the end of last year. He has stated publically that he's more comfortable this year. Yeah, it's just the first pre-season game, but he's gotta step it up if he's going to be a bonafide starter. The Bills have started poorly each of the first 2 season under Jauron. That trend needs to change and you would hope that you can see some evidence of this in the pre-season.
  7. Exactly, and there will be more interest in a free agent that isn't in the last year of a contract.
  8. I hope to God that Jauron is far better than I at evaluating QB talent. What I need to see on the field is the guy he has chosen to start play better than the guy who is the backup. With the exception of maybe two games last year, I haven't seen that. Until then, who should be the starter is a fair question. I don't give a rat's ass what happens in practice, but I do care a lot about what happens on Sundays when the game is on the line. Trent's play simply doesn't support the decision unless this is really about money as some have suggested. If Trent starts and plays well, the whole debate can then die.
  9. Agree. One of these 2 QBs shows more determination with his play and appears more the emotional field general with the entire offense. One of them looks more willing and able to make the big play. One has more experience. One is more athletic and can use that to make a play now and then. One is probably tougher to game plan against. In every case it's not Trent. I really think for this front office, the choice has come down to money.
  10. Trent is judged by all of his play including last year. Yesterday's game was a continuation of his poor play which includes his last few games from last year. The trend is not good, but I'd say the only way is up for him.
  11. Absolutely true. How long will we have to wait?
  12. No, but I can judge him on every down he's played for the Bills since last year. He's Mr. Safety, a perfect fit for the "play it safe" head coach. Trent's one completion from last night did make the Bills highlight video shown on their website.
  13. It should not be a surprise to any Bills fan that JP was more productive tonight than Trent. After all, he is the more experienced, more capable and the better player of the two. The real question which has still not been honestly answered publically by this head coach or front office is why JP is not the starter. Anyone with 2 eyes can see he is the better player. Come on Jauron, tell us what the heck is going on here.
  14. Trent will get more playing time when he can help to generate 1st downs and sustain drives.
  15. If Trent Edwards is the Bills QB and Jason Peters is not in the lineup, you're losing $20.
  16. It should not be a surprise to any Bills fan that JP was more productive tonight than Trent. After all, he is the more experienced, more capable and the better player of the two. 17. Great. I won't be able to watch it, but I look forward to your comments after the game as seen through "your eyes".
  18. Yes, tis the season for rose colored glasses.
  19. Which has nothing to do with 2008.
  20. You're probably right. This coaching staff wouldn't know what to do if it got it's hands on a HOF QB.
  21. This post certainly demonstrates your level of class. You'll never find any meaningful number of people close to Favre (teammates, neighbors and others) that consider him to be what you call him here. You won't.
  22. I agree Trent should be on the upswing but you'll never convince me that in 1 season Trent will rise to a level that Brett will fall to. There is a canyon of difference in the 2 QBs right now. Brett throwing all those picks may be wishful thinking by so many on this board.
  23. OK, so how far can our guy Trent who's athletism is questionable and has little experience take the Bills? I love how many people on this board are so quick to discount Favre's ability. He's easily in the same vicinity as Brady in terms of ability right now IMO. This is a big upgrade for the Jets and by the time the Bills play them, Favre will be more familiar with his new surroundings. Great move by the Jets IMO.
  24. So these Jets that have added several key free agents to their roster since last year and have replaced a very shaky QB position with a proven winner coming off one of his best ever years and have barely played with their current team remind you of a recent Bills team? How can you make any comparision?
