The Next Pandemic: SARS-CoV-2/COVID-19
keepthefaith replied to Hedge's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
If Trump had put Jared Kushner in charge of a bio lab here and that lab was compromised causing the virus to leak, you'd have a point. -
And once again the video above has been removed for "terms of service" violation which is a total crock. My guess is the CA Governor's office didn't like it and asked Google to take it down. Blatant partisan censorship.

I'll take a swing at it, but this is not a vote of confidence in him. I think Barr may have put a fence around him and told him to strictly focus on running the FBI and improving that going forward. It seems to me from Wray's testimony and other public statements that he's cooperating as needed with DOJ in terms of providing them docs and info but he's staying out of the political fray including not giving Congressional committees much. To me that would fit with Barr's style which is to handle things within DOJ and keep others away from what they're doing. I think Barr looks down on most pols even those he may be aligned with and uses a very opposite style which is to talk little. Wray I think is just staying in the lane he has been given.

Hiring Rex Ryan while waiting for McD and Beane to become available?

I don't think this has been posted in any of the threads. Apologize if it was. Fantastic presentation from 2 doctors in California on the virus and sheltering. Data based discussion. It's over an hour long. Just finished watching. It was worth the trip. Interestingly youtube took this down due to some "policy violation" but it is back up.

Really? How would the NY Gov's fight be going without the aid of the Trump Administration? Would he have had all his ventilators? His additional hospital beds and facilities? A Navy shipped parked in the harbor to handle additional patients? Would he have had HCQ to give to the neediest patients? Would he have had additional potential infected travelers form outside the U.S. in his heavily traveled largest city and in NY's smaller cities? Would he have had test supplies/kits prioritized for his state?

Yes, over time and at a rate which allows for economically sound technologies to develop and roll out. It's happening but you can't force it. We'll embrace further moves toward green energy as they become available, reliable and cost effective. Politically your side are raging lunatics wanting it now like a bunch of spoiled brats. Kind of like Charlie Cheswick in Cuckoo's Nest or AOC. The political right lacks any articulation of a transitional path of what is possible and in development. The difference is that it'll never happen in the fashion that the left demands. Never. They (you) will just scream about it. We're going to need oil and gas until we don't.

The Next Pandemic: SARS-CoV-2/COVID-19
keepthefaith replied to Hedge's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Wrong. I provided 1 link which covered 1 industry, the auto industry, which began to build ventilators and other supplies early on. By "build" that means begin the process of tooling up a plant, training workers, in some cases designing the products, establishing suppliers for components, prototyping and early production, quality testing and then going live with production. That's an entirely different challenge than telling meat processors to "keep doing what you do". There are dozens, even more than that, examples of businesses small and large that on very short notice produced needed supplies and products. Was it always enough? No, but there has been an historic effort to produce these supplies. Criticizing the federal government for not being able to meet globally spiking demand for every need which greatly exceeded supply to put it kindly is MMQBing. Should I blame Trump that for weeks I couldn't get enough sanitization products to clean our offices and operations? We found a way and lay no blame. -

Do you want PPE produced in meat packing plants? -

Did you miss the part about Ford and GM and others building ventilators and other supplies ahead of and in response to DPA? https://www.just-auto.com/analysis/mapping-the-auto-manufacturers-building-ppe-and-medical-equipment-to-battle-covid-19_id194945.aspx -
Their opening day roster is not yet finalized.

Give her credit, she didn't play the race card. -

So you're saying that Trump is withholding tests or that his administration is slow walking test availability on purpose? He should have just waved his magic wand weeks ago and had 300 million tests distributed to states? -
Democratic 2020 Presidential Primary Thread
keepthefaith replied to snafu's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Americans should not trust 44 and that whole crew including Joe. If Joe's elected, we can likely expect to see several dirty players from 2016 back in government positions. Joe will put the band back together. -

This pandemic IMO is actually working to Joe's benefit. The media drumbeat of Trump bad carries on while Joe has a great excuse for not actually campaigning except through scripted edited video messages. He's able to hide and that's good for him. Long way to go though before November. Long way in this political and economic climate.
