Trump's Tulsa Rally: America Strikes Back
keepthefaith replied to Big Blitz's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Just criticism much of it. Obamacare, bust. Fiscal responsibility, bust (Trump an even bigger bust on this one). Middle East war and foreign policy, bust. Solving illegal immigration to the benefit of Americans, bust. Delivering to minorities on the promise of fundamental transformation, bust. Using many federal agencies for political gain, even criminal, bust. Trump deserves criticism too but the media and the left are so blinded by political hate they've completely forgotten what is the larger role of the Federal Government. -
The Next Pandemic: SARS-CoV-2/COVID-19
keepthefaith replied to Hedge's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Maybe some police and police forces need more training and more discipline for malfeasance. Police departments are manged and funded mostly locally. I prefer the cities/counties/states to deal with it. The vast majority of police forces have good records and probably don't need any changes whatsoever. Agree too much money spent in Iraq and Afganistan. Finally those expenses are winding down. Our federal government has an abysmal record of properly funding and managing entitlements. It can't be trusted with universal health care which would become the largest of them all. However, the current "system" is a patchwork quilt of separate state programs with opaque pricing which is all over the board depending upon who is the provider and what coverage is in place. Government has completely ***** it up over the past few decades. The reality is we are already under a government controlled system which is funded by private, employer and taxpayer dollars. We can do much better but giving the government more control of this is a big no thank you from me. Most of our citizens that find themselves at the bottom of the economic ladder can look in the mirror for the cause. A lifetime of poor decisions and actions that stack up week to week, month to month and year to year are usually the root cause IMO. Sounds harsh but even in my own family there are examples of this. -
“Cancel” / Knee-Jerk Culture of 2020 and beyond
keepthefaith replied to RiotAct's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
One could easily make an argument that removing this woman or her caricature from the product is in itself a racist act. Pretty sad that the removal is being planned. Frankly Pepsi might have more to gain business-wise and get some very positive PR by promoting her story and the product. -

The Big Gamble: Hydroxychloroquine
keepthefaith replied to Magox's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Can't recall anyone in Trump Admin or through media calling it a cure. The claims have been that it can somewhat reduce the severity and recovery time for some with the virus or have some preventative benefits.. -
The deep economic structural flaws oppressing the American working class? What might those be?
-
Not while on the job. The employer can set policy and IMO athletes or any other employees should protest on their own time. The NFL should not allow players or team personnel during games or pressers or work time to use it as a platform for political protest or expression. It's bad for business. Bad math. 60% and 13% of the population are not involved with law enforcement. The denominator in that equation is the number of people involved with law enforcement in criminal encounters.

Surprised to see you post a pro Trump picture.

Should TSW charge a membership fee?
keepthefaith replied to GregPersons's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Yes and the fee shall be progressive, annual income based. Under $50K per year = free $50K - $100K = $1,000 yearly fee $100K - $250K = $3,000 yearly fee $250K - $500K = $9,000 yearly fee $500K - $1,000K = $25,000 yearly fee Over $1 million = $50,000 yearly fee plus 5% of earnings over $2 million Additionally, all members earning over $250K shall be subject to a fee of .39% of income additional fee Now if income earners over $100K don't renew their membership fees, the lost revenue shall be added to the membership fees of those earning under $100K to make up the difference. -
Well, fake news mostly. This happened in 2012 and she was sentenced to 12 years on multiple counts of selling narcotics with the sentence being suspended after 5 years. The school thing seems was just a throw in. Now you can argue that the 12 year (5 years served) sentence was harsh and Trump has signed the first step act which addresses this sort of thing. https://www.ctpost.com/news/article/Tanya-McDowell-sentenced-to-5-years-in-prison-3437974.php

How many PPP posters are in the KKK?
keepthefaith replied to GregPersons's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Nope. They're friends, neighbors (even right next door), business people, athletic teammates and families, and also some employees. Once again you've missed the mark. -
How many PPP posters are in the KKK?
keepthefaith replied to GregPersons's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Have not and let me say this. There is an awful lot you don't know about me, but what you should know is that there are several black Americans that would run through a brick wall for me and I for them. They'd have my back if ever you or someone like you stated or inferred that I'm somehow racist. I've earned it through actions over decades. Don't know what your objectives are on the subject of the threads you have started but if you're trying to cause positive change, your approach is awful. Just awful. -

IMO Bill Barr is among a small group of the finest in Washington. A total pro, reasonable and doesn't cave to pressure political or otherwise. -

The Next Pandemic: SARS-CoV-2/COVID-19
keepthefaith replied to Hedge's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
My take is that the numbers show that older and/or higher risk people should consider taking measures to reduce their potential exposure and risk while younger and lower risk people should not be restricted any longer aside from distancing from higher risk people.
