  1. Should we really add a 3rd TE to the team? I thought Everett was suppose to be the ever elusive TE target to stretch the field. Also with Royal being "one of the best blocking TEs in the NFL", do you think we will go after one with the rest of our needs? I would be surprised if we did.
  2. Since EM is now officially gone and a good chunk of money is off of the books for the year, are there any FAs left over worth spending some of it on or have they all been picked over?
  3. We got hosed. Moulds was worth at least 2 1st rd picks! Seriously, I would have been happy with a 4th. Gee, ML, I have a piece of property for sale...
  4. Well yes, many aspiring football players never make it to the NFL but that is the way of life. Some are lucky, almost all are good and some are both. I have a hard time feeling sorry for someone who does make it and earns more money in one year that the vast majority of the world does in the lifetime. Try saying they are underpaid to the thousands of miltary, educators, and health care workers. When the average veteran salary is $650,000, even though I love watching the Bills I have to admit, I disagree with you entirely.
  5. I guess that means when we get the next GM, that we have to ring the bells and have the white smoke?
  6. If it's a 6th round pick, we got robbed. I will be even more embarassed to wear my Bill's jersey!
  7. I would give him an incomplete until after the draft. So far I like the moves he has made moneywise and to get younger. If we can can have a good draft then I would be inclined probably to give him a B.
  8. The thing I worry about is how someone handles themself when they have off the field issure BEFORE they go to the NFL where there every need is catered to and they have the privelage to earn more in a year than 90% of America. I hope that if we do draft him, that he uses some common sense and realizes he is the public eye. Talent is great but its also nice to have quality people of character on the team. Unfortunately, they aren't always the best athletes on the team!
  9. I like the idea but I would be surprised if "Deuce" is still available at 77. Seems like he has "moved up" to a possible 2nd rounder. Of course that is according to the experts. The rest of the draft looks pretty good except, I personally, wouldn't want them to draft another QB yet.
  10. Unfortunately, what the website or draft "gurus" can not measure is the maturity, desire and work ethic of these future pros. Hard to tell how some people will react when so much money is given to them.
  11. Probably the same thing was said 6 years ago too unfortunately.
  12. Not too bad of a strategy but I really think that this team can rebuild in 2 years through FAs and draft. We have a couple of playmakers on both sides of the ball. What is needed is a clear direction and commitment from the GM and coach. They need to be on the same page and aquire the personnel they think will help them succeed. I think in the past there has been a lack of direction as to what kind of team the Bills wanted to field. Lack of direction leads to poor personnel decisions and tranlates to poopr performance on the field. Hopefully, we will build upon what we already have through the draft this year. If we can make some smart decisions and start to strengthen the o&d lines, that will be a big first step toward being competitive. But that's just my 2 cents. And seeing how Raplh doesn't have me in the front office, yet...
  13. Yes it might be nice to have a lineman on OUR team control the line of scrimmage.
  14. I agree with you. I think the last thing we need to do is open it up to a 4 man competiton for the QB. Mccargo would be a good 3rd round pick but he seems to be moving up according to "informed sources".
  15. I think some people have too much time on their hands. Either that or they are auditioning for a GM job!
  16. Here is a link for a mock 7 round draft. Hope it helps. Someone did a lot of work! http://www.footballsfuture.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=55779
  17. Jen Carfagno has to be my choice plus she is a PSU alum. We are Penn State!
  18. The sacrifices we make for our friends. If its any concolation, I am making a good friend of mine who is a big Dolphins fan, miss the draft as well.
  19. Ouch. We booked the church and reception hall over a year out and before I realized the significance of the date. When I realized my mistake, it was already too late to rearrange. I have 1 of the groomsmen equipped with a portable TV. The wedding is at 2. Provided the draft does not drag on or a trade by the Bills, I should get to see them make their pick before I have to say "I do".
  20. Well at least the Bills are her 2nd favorite team. That's a start.
  21. I really think 2 years is a good amount of time to measure the impact of a new GM or coach. It should allow thtem 2 drafts and 2 years of FAs. I would think that would be more than enough time to implement their coaching changes, and styles and to go about finding the personal to compliment what they want to do. I know that can be a bit harsh but turn arounds happen all of the time. The key is to have the GM, the head coach, and the staff on the same page. I think in the past TD would get players he liked without consulting the coaches or taking into account the things they wanted to do. It really didn't help changing horses midstream. I think there ended up being a mix of different types of players that really didn't mesh anywhere except on special teams.
  22. The problem is that too many teams ahead of us like Hawk as well. I have seen about a 100 mock drafts that have Hawk go hunting with Favre already!
  23. Good point. When you are the main go-to-guy for the QB you receive a lot more attention. Of course, what is also not mentioned is separation speed. If I remember correctly, Moulds 40 in 1996 was in the 4.5s. Not blazing but good. I couldn't find anything online to validate that but it seems to stick in my memory. If he has lost a step, then it is even that much harder to get open deep. A quick cut at 6-8 yards is probably easier to complete than a 15 yard down and out. Also, one thing to consider is yards after the catch. If he didn't have or doesn't have the blazing speed anymore, its hard to add yards on to the quick pass to drive up the yards/reception.
  24. Well, I could be wrong, but isn't it the center who is responsible for most line calls in the league? If the offense gets to the line of scrimmage and there needs to be a change in blocking assignments, then the center is responsible to call it out. It could be that Preston has the physical tools, work ethic and the intangibles to succeed but only lacks the experience. I would really like to see him get more playing time under his belt before judged too sharply. Maybe his technique is what the Bills staff likes and the rest will come along with more time spent in the trenchs. Signed, Duke Preston's Personal Advisor
  25. IMHO, I still think that unless the Bills trade down, that they will go for a D linemen. I have read too many articles about Levy where he feels that the line is the key point of attack. Unless you can dominate the line of scrimmage, then they play will work in the favor of the oppenent. I really think that they will go Ngata or Bunkley unless Ferguson falls down for some reason to #8. Of course, I reserve the right to be wrong, since I am not currently included in the Bills draft braintrust. Damn, wonder why they won't return my phone calls??
