Should the Ravens trade up with Miami for Matt Ryan or
Fastro replied to Tipster19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
We should trade Losman to them and our 11th pick for their 8th pick. That works out to about a late 3rd round pick value for him. Seems reasonable to me. -
So many threads have discussed trading down to acquire extra picks here, that I thought I would discuss trading up. While I am always a fan of getting more players to fill in depth and STs, why not look at trading up for quality? NE always seems to be looking to trade their pick. I would be ecstatic if Dorsey, Ellis or especially Gholston dropped down to the number 7 pick. Draft Chart values would mean having to sacrifice our 3rd to move up 4 spots but this might be a great oportunity to pick up an impact player on the D who is NOT a reach. We could then pursue a WR or TE in the 2nd or with one of our 4th round picks. Anybody agree with me?

Nice draft. I would be surprised if Sweed is available in the 2nd.

Can someone please explain to me what pick value is? I just don't see the connection between "so called experts" pick value and draft position. If a team has a need and has targeted a player, why is it a "reach" to draft that player at a position other than what was predicted by people who get paid to write about football by giving us their opinion? If we look at it from a science point of view, natural selection is where organisms adapt to their environment to survive. If a team needs a LB, go after the best available player or risk continuing to suffer because the media evaluates a player as a "reach". In economics, the law of supply and demand determines when and for how much a product sells. How often does a player's stock rise from a great combine or pro day workout based only on their physical attributes with no regard to their college career? My point is, if the Bills feel they need a WR as their #1 need, then go after their number 1 choice with the 11th pick. If the FO has done their homework and the player pans out, I disagree that it has been a reach. As troubled as our offense was last year, especially in the red zone, a TD maker would be a welcome addition to the team. If the FO thinks we should improve our DBs then go after their number 1 CB and forget what the so called experts think. Just my 2 cents!

I would really be surprised if the Bills traded down their pick. I really believe that they have a player targeted and will stay there to ensure that they get him. I would love a trade down of a few spots for an additional late 2nd or early 3rd round pick but I can't see it happening. Personally, I would love to see some offensive weapons added to supplement our improved defense. We can't solve all of the team's problems this offseason. Let's get some young talent on the O to help keep the D off of the field for so many plays. Plus, it would be nice as a fan to actually see them score a TD occassionally! -
Any idea when they tixs typically go on sale? I was hoping to buy a few last Friday but ran into problems. Thanks!

Could it be the Bucs are already displeased with

Wow, 19 pages about a underachieving 1st round pick. Wonder if his 15 minuites isn't up yet? -
Maybe his idol is Derrick Thomas?

Thanks but I wasn't really planning on having sex with Willis. I am more of an Arnold kind of guy. "Watcha talking about Willis"!

I never assumed anything - you know what happens when you asssume. I was just curious what people thought the Bills still lacked on the team and how next year's available players might be able to address those needs. At no point did I say that we were going to suck. Obviously, a lot of non Bills fball fans do though.

Just for the heck of it, I took a look at about 15 different 2007 mock drafts. I don't think there was a single draft that had the Bills with a pick worse than the 6th. Most of them had us picking in the top 4. The dominant pick was Brady Quinn from ND. Just curious what the Bills' faithful thought about next year's draft pick and position. Any ideas who Marv might target?

No, 29th and 30th. You are early, which I guess is better than being late.

I don't suppose that would be 20 lbs of muscle??

Bills bring in Michael Huff for private workout

He's "only" visiting 8 teams. Maybe he is trying to wrack up some frequent flyer mileage? -
Well, I think the Bears and Ravens are overrated. Of course, I should have a better idea on Oct 9th and New Years Day.

0-2. I don't think so. I mean come on, do you really expect us to lose? I am predicitng at least a 5-0 or 6-0 start to the season. I mean we do have a 50% chance to win or lose.

How hard is it to guess the Bills pick?

I thought Max had serious weight issues. Isn't he something like 350? I thought I heard he ate a cheerleader once by accident too. -

Wow, looks like everyone is in agreement! -
Well I was thinking of someone with "Arrington type" ability, not character and attitude. Just wondering if there was some mid/high level FA that we might be able to go after now that we have more money. Certainly an O or D linemen would take a bit of pressure of our draft. We wouldn't feel so obligated to go after a certain player if we could bring somebody else in.

In the end....Vernon Davis

I agree. I hate to pass on someone who has special written all over him but he could be a workout warrior just as easily. Besides, if he has special written written all over him, shouldn't he wash it off? -
Well I was actually thinking someone like Arrington. Although I am not a fan of his we might have some extra money now to sign someone with his ability. Usually the June 1st picks tend to be older vets with high salaries.
