Did you think we were gonna be good?
DeLuca1967 replied to bruceleeroy100's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The Bills won't take a step towards the playoffs until they go out and get a GM not a shuffleboard partner for Ralph. This team was lucky to go 5-11 last season. Nothing they have done can be considered an inprovement unless you feel every player drafted will come in and start. Which doesn't happen. Free agency was a watse of time and money. $10 million for Price? There is a reason why all the other teams and the national media are laughing at the Bills. They see the team for what it is not through red & blue colored glasses. Prediction for 2006? 2-14 if they are lucky and get a couple of breaks. This is just my opinion but the Bills are already on the clock for the 2007 #1 draft pick. My only hope is that we have a GM in place at that time won't screw it up. -
Bills are losers, will always be

Everyone in football has a "long history of evaluating college prospects". Hell Mel Kiper has made himself a millionaire doing it. It doesn't mean he does it well. The idea behind the draft is to maximise the value of each draft pick. This Bills failed in this regard. It looks more and more like they drafted with the ability to sign players as the #1 priority. Which is not the way to go when both of your lines are garbage. With maybe the exception of Schoebel they don't have one quality player on either line. Great they will have a fast secondary. They will need them to run down the running backs who will walk through the Bills line like imigrants over the Rio Grande. -

Which means nothing to the 2006 Buffalo Bills. What Levy did as a coach has nothing to do with this draft or this team. Levy had little if anything to do with the building process of that team. 100% of that credit goes to Polian and Butler. Not Levy. With Free Agency and day one of the Draft now on Levy's record it's becoming clearer that the Bills are going nowhere under Levy. It's a shame we wil have to wait another year or two until another GM can be found. Hopefully that choice will be made by a new owner. One that doesn't try to make a phone call using his stapler. -
Hypersensitive Sissys - It's About Winning Games
DeLuca1967 replied to Mark VI's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Whitner was a panic pick. Check the Bills trash can and you will see a draft card with Huff's name on it. When the Raiders passed on Matt Leinart the Bills didn't know what to do. So they went to the next safety on the board passing up the huge bodies they needed to plug the middle. This caused them to overreact and reach for McCargo. A player who only had 6 starts in his junior year. A player that a Bills coached described as 'needing to learn how to play the game'. That was from the Bills scout on WGR during their coverage. The Bills needed to be able to adjust in midstream. They couldn't do it. -
I would love for you to go into further detail. The Jets did a great job of addressing their offensive line. While the Bills were reaching the Jets were taking care of business. And both the Pats and Fins are so far ahead of the Bills it's not even fair. They can draft differently then the Bills because they have less needs. They are fine tuning their teams not rebuilding. No ground was gained. If anything ground was lost. The Jets offensive line will be better. The Bills defensive line can not say the same thing. Maybe someone should tell Marv it's 2006 not 1990. He got the boot because the game had passed him by. Nothing in FA or this draft has shown he has caught back up.

So, according to Scouts Inc, the Bills got...
DeLuca1967 replied to Lurker's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This would have been a good Day One if the Bills didn't have so many needs. The Bills drafted like they are a winning franchise who only needed help here and there. Reaching for a safety and trading up to pick a defensive line project doesn't help this team. Then they draft another corner? Was the third corner spot more of a problem then the offensive line? Drafts are a tough job. When you screw it up early it screws you for the rest of the draft. It used to be fun following free agency and the draft. But when your team doesn't do anything in FA and then doesn't address any of the needs on draft day? This makes me want to go out and get season tickets again There's always next year. Again. -

It's plain and simple. The Bills planned on Huff being there and they were thrown for a loop when he was gone. Just like Free Agency. The speed of the draft is too much for Marv Levy. They threw away a third round pick for a player who was the Third best lineman on his team, who just happened to only play 6 games. At least the Draft will be really fun next year when the Bills pick #1 overall. My only hope is that there will be a new GM in place to put this team in the right direction. -
OFFICIAL NFL DRAFT DAY 2006 THREAD!
DeLuca1967 replied to sven233's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He will have to. With swiss cheese for a defensive line the safeties are going to make a ton of tackles. I'm not shocked by the pick. I expected nothing more from a GM who thinks Craig Nall is the answer at QB This bad joke just keeps getting worse. -
The bad news if Golisano ever buys the Bills

How does 'Porn Star' and the 'guy on the highway making 25 bucks an hour holding a orange flag' not make the list? #1 not on that list? I know a guy who does piercings for women. He is very selective on his clients. I offered him a grand to be his assistant but he turned me down.

I feel bad for Aaron Rogers. Unless the kid lights it up from day one and doesn't stop he is doomed no matter how Farve leaves. -
Thanks. It's official. You can find everything on the Interenet. I saw only one flaw. They didn't have the Cabbie that talks to Chris Berman listed. I think he is still at 100%.

With all the sites out there on the Web, is there one that keeps score of Mock Drafts? How many did Kiper get right last year? Or any other expert? It must be a low percentage because you don't hear anyone bragging about it.

Bills interested in Dwight Smith

Would any one be happy if the Bills traded out of the 8th spot and picked up a third to use to get Smith? -
Draft Day Plan B is Picking a Player at #8
DeLuca1967 replied to Mark VI's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
When was the last time you heard of a draft being "lacking in talent with little or no depth". Every year is considered deep with some positions being considered deeper then others. The Bills need bodies plain and simple. With a few extra picks it may increase the chance that few of them stick around maybe even contribute something. My only hope is that theis draft is a 100% Tom Modrak draft with him having final say. -
When all the smoke and mirrors clear
DeLuca1967 replied to Chicken Wing '73's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Ngata would be nice. But the Bills have so many needs it might be better to give up the 8th spot and pick up a couple extra picks. Add in the Bills crying about money? I don't think they are willing to pay top 10 money right now. Not after getting burned by Mike Williams. -
The Bills don't have enough picks to address all their needs. It would have been great if they spent a little more attention on the O-line but you can't change that now. There are some OK lineman in the draft this year but the only problem is other teams need lineman to. The chances the Bills could draft a lineman who would even see the field this season is slim. The Bills seem happy whith the 'throw as much crap up against the wall and see what sticks' way of building a line. I just hope they have enough that sticks to give JP a little time in the pocket.

Time for Bills fans to step up.
DeLuca1967 replied to DeLuca1967's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Thanks for making my point. At these discounted prices Bills fans can't sell out 8 games? Hey it sucks. I would like steak and lobster every night for dinner but I just can't do it. I just don't think the money is here in WNY for an NFL team. You can't expect a billion dollar business like the NFL to lower it's standards to keep a weak sister afloat -
Time for Bills fans to step up.
DeLuca1967 replied to DeLuca1967's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Again it is you who miss the point. The fact is Bills fans don't pay what other fans in other cities do. "the can't afford it" is no arguement. They better start to "afford it" becuase it's the only way to keep the team here. I don't see why that is hard for you to understand. I'm trying to use as simple English as I can you. It's not the taxpayers job or the job of other owners to keep the Bills in Buffalo. It's the Bills Fans. Selling out a stadium that cost half as much for the same ticket in other cities is not how you do it. If every team had the Bills prices they would be sold out every game. Hell that's easy. If other teams fans are paying more and buying PSL's then it's what the Bills fans have to do. You said "A healthy local economy = pricing power ". This one statement shows that maybe the Bills and NFL have out grown WNY. All sentimental BS aside. -
How about Bills fans stop blaming everyone else like the large market owners and the local politicians and look to yourself. Other teams are getting two to three times more for tickets then what Bills fans pay. Try this on. If you want a major league sport? Be willing to pay major league prices for it.

New Mayor of Buffalo
DeLuca1967 replied to buffalobillsfootball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Great avatar. I wonder how many of the people on these boards live in the City. It drives me nuts when people from other cities or those who live outside the City think they have a clue on how things are here. What Mayor Brown said is 100% true. The City will go on when (not if) the Bills leave. The problems goes well beyond the CBA. Even with a great CBA for the Bills it would still be hard to keep the team in Buffalo. -
Has it really been that long since they had a good O-line? I never thought I would miss John Fina. Compared to what we have now? He was a Hall of Famer.
