  1. Don't you think over the past three years that Losman at some point should have shown he can take the bull by the horns. Look at Leinart tonight. Starts off 5 for 5 with a TD against the same defense that made Losman look like a child. Losman over his three years has never looked that good at any point. I guess for you and others it will always be someone's fault other than Losman's. For me? The Lions game wasn't another nail in the coffin. It ws the last shovel of dirt on the grave.
  2. That must be why Polian went on to build two (Carolina + Indy) Super Bowl contending teams and good old Marv was forced out of the game. Looks like the jokes on you junior.
  3. Again. Are the Bills setting up with only one wideout?
  4. I don't think I ever said put Holcomb in or even said take JP out. What the Bills need to do is concentrate on getting an NFL QB in here for next season. They are going to have another high draft pick next season. With players like Clements and Fletcher hitting the bricks they should have some cap room.
  5. Wow! You have no clue what happened in the '80's. "Marv forged", you must be joking. There have been many dumb things posted on these boards but this has to be a top five. Many pieces of the team that went on to the SB's were in place before Levy was hired by the Bills. Kelly, Smith, Talley and Reed were all drafted by the Bills before anyone knew who Levy was. To say anyone other then Bill Polian "forged" that team is moronic. Polian darft Thomas and traded Greg Bell for Bennett. What has Marv "forged"? He had draft picks and cap room and he couldn't find ONE offensive lineman? He wasted money on Peerless Price? Mike Gandy? And what is he paying Clements to do nothing? "Marv forged". What an F**king joke.
  6. It's no harder now then when Rob Jonhson was doing it? Or Hobert? Or Hocomb? " sensible decision making" ? I have to remember that so many on these boards have little or no standards.
  7. I forgot that the Bills run a 1 Receiver set on third downs. If Losamn had as much football sense as many of you have excuses he'd be on his way to the 'Hall of Fame'. He couldn't get it done against a 0-5 team. I would compare JP to Rob Johnson but Losman has a lot of work to do to step up to that level. Right now he's nothing more than a BillyJoe Hobert. Rob Johnson 61.3 comp% 7.19 ypa Losman 54.4 comp% 6.16 ypa Hobert 52.2 comp% 6.40 ypa
  8. 3rd quarter - 3rd and 10. He throws to Royal for eight yards. It's just not Evans. Throughout the season he has gone short on 3rd down to many receivers. He does this game after game and it shows no signs of getting better.
  9. Again. If we were talking one or two times this season you may have a point. It happens way too often to keep beleiving it's the wide receivers fault all the time. It goes to Losman's inability to check down. If the first option isn't there he dumps it off to the safety valve. He doesn't go option 1 - option 2 - option 3 - dump off. He goes option 1 - dump off or sack. He just doesn't process the information fast enough in his head to get the job done.
  10. Losman throws underneath on a regular basis. Look up the numbers. He throws the ball short of the first down marker way more then he does beyond the marker. It's why his 3rd down percentage is high. He throws a four yard completion on 3 and 10. Once or twice I would say it's the receivers. It happens 5 or 6 times a game.
  11. Another poor game for JP Losman on third downs. 9 att 4 comp 21 yrds 2 1st downs 1 int 1 sack Two of his completions were a 2 yard pass on 3rd and 3? An 8 yrd pass on 3 and 10? The guy crumbles under pressure. One good thing is the Bills will have a good chance to grab a QB with their Top 5 pick in next years draft.
  12. Wouldn't 8-8, considering the schedule, bring about false hope? If they beat the Lions , the record for the opponents they beat would be 4-11. The Teams that they lost to are 11-4. We've all seen it before. A team goes 8-8 on a soft schedule then all offseason people are posting about the playoffs. Then they play a tough shedule? Hello 5-11. But hey. If it helps some to get through the season. Whatever. The Bills need to beat a good team. It would be even better if they did so on the road. They have games against New England, Indy (road) , Jacksonville, San Diego and Baltimore (road). Those are the games I will measure the Bills with.
  13. No you don't. Just the opposite. The point of the original post and others I have seen is that the Bills can make up for the Bears beatdown with a strong game against the Lions. My point is that when you are measuring your team you do so against the better teams. The Bills lost to the Bears by 33 points. If the Bears would have kept the foot on the throttle it could have been 63 points. It's not that the Bills should have won the game. I never said anything close to that. The fact that they couldn't even make it a game is cause for concern. And don't tell me about the Seahawks. They were without Alexander. Take McGahee out of last weeks game and the Bills lose by 83. Nothing that happens this Sunday makes a difference to what happened last week. Beating the Lions doesn't take away from the Bills measuring themselves against one of the better teams and falling way short of being respectable. Not winning. Just being respectable.
  14. The Bears game was the test. You measure yourself against the best. You don't measure teams against also rans. If this Sunday was against the Pats? Then yes, you could say the Bills had a chacne to prove something. On the road against a team that should be named "Bye Week"? There is nothing to prove. You don't have to play well to beat the Lions. Just wait it out and the Lions will beat themselves. Again the standards are so low that games against an 0-5 team mean more then a game against an 4-0 team. I can not express how sad that that is.
  15. This is what David Ortiz does in the off season?
  16. You would see more if you could open your mind. But that must be one of the side effects of the Bills flavored Kool Aid.
  17. The Bills haven't proven they can get that yard. This team doesn't have free downs or points to waste. Get the first down and keep the drive alive. Everytime this team tries to get cute it blows up. It blows up because they are not good enough.
  18. There is nothing "gut check" about the 0-5 Lions. There is no "test". Beating a pathetic football team proves nothing. I can tell you spend a lot of time in church. That must be where you learned how to use a lot of words that don't mean anything. It must also be why you are predisposed to being a lamb just following the herd.
  19. 17 points a game is "suddenly explosive". You are right. A game against a 0-5 patsy is a far greater gauge of a teams character then say a game against a very good team. Last Sunday was gut check time. Nothing the Bills do against the Lions can erase that fact. The Bears beat the Bills by 33 points while playing the second half like a preseason game.
  20. Don't use logic. The sheep hate logic
  21. Then why waste the jet fuel. Why not just stay in WNY and give the Bears the game. I can't beleive the loser mentality that has overcome Bills nation. What the hell happened to you guys. You accept a gimic for GM. You make excuses for Losman left and right. You blow off a 40-7 embarassment as being OK because the Bills were suposed to lose? First I thought your standards were just low. I was wrong. You have no standards at all. WTF. Put down the Bills flavored Kool-Aid and get your football senses back. Quit being so Bills whipped that you are bending over and saying "thank you sir may I have another?" everytime the Bills make an excuse.
  22. Yes. Trick plays and gimics work best when you establish something. A bootleg works great for teams that have a proven running game. The Bills of the '90s would run trick plays from time to time? They worked a lot of the time because teams were too concerned about Thomas and the K-Gun. They didn't have time to worry about end arounds or flea flickers. The Bills main focus should be perfecting their base offense and base defense not fake field goals or punts. The team isn't good enough to pull them off. Maybe they should take the practice time wasted on the trick special teams plays and work on some plays that would help Losman complete a pass beyond the first down marker on third down.
  23. When the team is good enough to overcome the results when they don't work out.
  24. Not the bad snap just the bad play call. The negatives greatly outweighed any positive. That's piss poor coaching. That was as bad a call as not taking the three points against the Pats.
  25. Did Moorman also say he didn't know it was fourth down Fake punts, fake field goals, pooch kicks and bootlegs? Sounds a lot like Mike Mularkey to me.
