  1. I don't really understand your logic. Let's assume you are correct and TJ is a horrible player and will never make it in the NFL. With that being the case, what is wrong with drafting a replacement speedy WR? Having a speedy decent/good WR is desired in the NFL. I see no problem in attempting to obtain one.
  2. I think it's fictional love.
  3. You are the epitome of a true fan. Even though you believe we have absolutely no chance to be good or even improve to mediocre, you still remain a fan. Don't take this the wrong way......but I hope you are proven wrong in your assumptions very soon.
  4. I just don't get how you can be so confident that Manuel will be a bust. The Bills did a massive amount of due diligence on the QBs in the draft.....and a great number of the media mockers had Manuel as a legit 1st round pick. For you to categorically state that he will fail(and that the pick was a stupid pick by the Bills) is baffling to me. It is like you can't fathom the concept that your opinion could be wrong.
  5. I never thought I could feel so free.
  6. Where did you formulate that myth from though? I'm not going to do the research for the average number of 1st round trade downs but at this point I would guestimate that Nix's 1 in 4 years with a trade down(25%) is far, far, far higher than the league average.
  7. I think it all comes down to either naivety or hubris. Naivety in buying into the concept that the particular media analysts one listens to are actually correct in their assessments. ...or... Having the hubris to believe that ones own personal player analysis is correct without the possibility of it being incorrect.
  8. I'm constantly impressed by the number of people who seem to be elite level talent evaluators. So many experts on one fan forum is one of the reasons I keep coming back here. Though I sometimes get confused with the conflicting views of our TBD expert talent evaluators......I know that since they are stating things in a dogmatic and unequivocal fashion that they all must be correct at the same time.
  9. Very happy with day 1 .
  10. They had to free up some cap room or they would have been over. They didn't really have a choice. (Still ridiculous that they got themselves into that position though.)
  11. Buddy has been very specific on this. He has clearly stated several times that the draft is deep at WR(meaning good ones can be obtained in the 2nd & 3rd).......and that he would like a big tall WR. Both of those statements have me pretty confident that we will not be drafting Austin at 8. My guess would be that he is hoping to get Allen/Hopkins/Hunter in the 2nd.
  12. Probably. My guess would be that they commissioned an analytics study on how useful college statistics are in relation to predicting future NFL ability.
  13. I think that was some pretty lazy work by the journalist.
  14. The question is not whether you think that any of the QBs have franchise potential......but whether the experts in the NFL think that any of the QBs have franchise potential. Nix from the Bills has stated he believes there are at least 3......so it's extremely unlikely that we will select a QB at 8 who isn't one of those franchise potential QBs. Furthering to that, when you talk about "franchise-caliber player" you are talking percentage chances.....not definitive chances. You might have a more rational argument for your fear if the situation was that we have the #1 pick.....or even a top 3 pick. When picking at 8 however there really isn't that big of a drop-off in percentage chances that your draft pick will become an elite player compared to a bit later in the 1st round(15-25)......where I assume you would be more comfortable selecting a QB.
