  1. 3rd year for DT is often the breakout year. Fingers crossed Dareus turns it on from here on in.
  2. Illogical thought process through that article IMO. He starts out showing how us Bills fans are used to losing.....and he's right. His comments on EJ trying to rev up the crowd were likely spot on. Us fans have been following loss after loss with no playoffs for 13 years........and Hell Yes, we just KNOW that we are going to lose the lead at the end of the game to the Pats & it will take a while of winning to stop naturally believing that that will be the case. He then follows to suggest that the same mentality is endemic in the players. The thing is though, the players haven't experienced loss after loss with no playoffs for 13 years. In fact, a vast majority of our players have not seen 4 seasons with the Bills.....and over half of our starters have only seen 2 or less seasons with the team. He could argue the logic of a loser mentality being run through the Bills system(which may or may not be the case)......but that would be a vastly different loser mentality to the one he describes for us fans. In short, I see no reason for his comments apart from simply wanting to rev up people's emotions by calling the Bills losers.......but I guess that's just what the modern day media does.
  3. I agree with all you wrote except for the last comment. There is absolutely no way of knowing if Geno will get better or even get worse. Most crappy rookie QBs don't get much better as their short careers progress.
  4. Brady & the Pats only moved the balls 29 yards and punted on the following drive.
  5. Rules not enforced after the refs have actually called them? Name one please.
  6. Belichick has my complete sympathy over the situation. He simply isn't used to the refs not automatically doing exactly what he wants without having to ask.
  7. I agree. It will also be the perfect year to sign players onto big contracts as the first year in long term contracts can usually be made to be a relatively low cap hit. And with the concept that matter2003 just raised, that many teams will be struggling with their cap.....we might just be able to pick up a Good FA or 2 and not just the role fillers types that we picked up last off-season.
  8. It depends if teams can re-roll their rollover or not. Being extremely rough with numbers.... As it stands, we are committed to 109m under the 2014 cap already. Add in Byrd(4m.....if he gets a long term contract), rookies(4m....pushes others off the top 51), Carrington, Chandler, Moats etc(9m?). That brings us to the estimated cap level of 126m. If rollover money can't be re-rolled we will still have another 9.5m to play with.......or another 19.3m to play with if rollover money can be re-rolled. It should be enough to grab a good FA or 2 IMO.
  9. Pessimist: 'Topic A' was absolutely terrible and should never have been done. It's horrendous! Moderate: Actually, 'Topic A' wasn't as horrible as you state. All things considered (shows data, facts and reasonable argument), it was pretty decent. Pessimist: Yeah, there is absolutely nothing wrong with 'Topic A'. You're 100% correct! Our 'Topic A' is first class and the best in the league. Good Lord, be realistic! Moderate: AAAARRRRGGGGHHHH!!!! Optimist: <chuckle>
  10. I'm from Australia. I already use the metric system.......but it would be just wrong. Wrong, wrong, wrong. 91.44 metre long grounds....ugg. If the US were to ever go metric(and they should because it is soooo much better), the NFL should ignore it and stay imperial.
  11. No worries, so will I. My "thick" comment was in frustration at being unable to have a definitive answer(at least in my head)......it really bugs me when that happens lol.
  12. An 1828 metre season just doesn't have the ring to it though.
  13. With all due respect, you really don't seem to know what you're talking about in regards to this.
  14. I believe Tasker easily had the type of career required to make the hall of fame. Unfortunately he played ST.
  15. According to the following link we are at 1.108 ratio for cash2cap. http://www.overthecap.com/nfl-cash-space.php?Year=2013
  16. At this point I am willing to let this go and concede to concept that teams may well be able to re-rollover cap money.....even though it goes against the 2 explanatory quotes(maybe I'm just a bit thick to figure out what they meant by "adjusted" cap). Either way....all good.
  17. Though I believe Tasker is the most deserving person on that list, Bill Polian is surely a sure thing to get in IMO.
  18. The Bills/Titans part of this thread stemmed from a poster essentially saying that CJ's bad production was due to Levitre leaving. You are attacking a poster who disagreed with this concept.
  19. No, I don't believe we are arguing semantics here.....I am saying that what you are saying is incorrect. The first link you provided states..... "I had erroneously hoped that a team could keep growing its adjusted salary cap, but alas -- it does reset and the rollover is pegged to the "base" NFL salary cap each year." He then goes on to analyze the Seahawks 2013 cap year. As the rule didn't come into effect until the 2012 season, the 2013 year was not dealing with a re-rollover situation. He does not comment on the 2014 cap year(or a re-rollover applicable year) apart from his initial quote above. For the life of me I can't find the official link that I had found previously (just a bunch of team focused "journalist" links), but the spotrac link I found clearly states.... "Does it continue to rollover like cellphone minutes? No. Rollover money from 2012 into 2013 is treated as "adjusted cap". Any unused "adjusted" money in 2013 cannot be rolled over again into 2014." The only way it can work as you are suggesting (that monies obtained from a previous rollover can be used in the following year), is if the "adjusted" money is reduced first when spending, leaving "actual" cap dollars to remain.....thus allowing them to be rolled over into the following years cap. This of course makes no logical sense as it would make the 2 quotes above irrelevant. I really want to be able to provide a link to an NFL source here to definitively clear things up as I don't like relying on logic on an internet forum(for obvious reasons). However, the 2 quotes above clearly suggest that the rule is in place to disallow "adjusted" cap dollars being re-rolled over into the following year.
  20. I used to have a link saved to all of these things(for just this sort of occurrence) but my computer died and I lost them all.... Here is one from a quick search I just did. http://www.spotrac.com/terms/nfl/can-a-team-carry-excessunused-cap-space-into-the-next-year-295/ Teams cannot rollover money that was rolled over in the previous year.
  21. Maybe. And I know....one game....apples/oranges.....but.... Bills rush ypa = 4.0 Titans rush ypa = 2.7
  22. This part isn't correct. Around 10m of that $22.5mil cap room money is rollover cap money from last season. This does not get re-rolled into future seasons. Assuming that $22.5mil figure is accurate, only $12.5mil would be rolled over onto the 2014 cap. To my knowledge, our cap space figure is now actually just under $19mil. This means we will be rolling over only $9mil onto next years cap. A cap that from all reports is not going to be increased much (maybe up to $126mil). As we have already a 2014 projected cap number of $109mil which doesn't include Byrd, Carrington, Chandler, Moats, Summers and a raft of others(including the 2014 rookie class), the Bills not spending more $$$ this season is actually sound cap management for the immediate future(2014). On a side note, I am extremely interested/curious/amused at the situation the Cowboys have put themselves in. They are already projected to be at $144mil cap spending in 2014 plus FAs & rookies......and the cap looks to be only increasing to $126mil. ....and they have already extended several key players contracts. I look forward to their cap demise. edit: sorry, didn't follow rest of thread....already been corrected. No, twas the opposite......but due to the rollover ability, the end result will be exactly the same result on the 2014 cap(unless we spend into our rollover from last season).
  23. Did the thread title or original post change or am I missing something here? Without personal history to add perspective on this thread, it looks like a basic count up to 2000 thread. I actually thought it was an optimists thread in regards to Spiller in that the OP believes that this game was an aberration and the numbers will get back on track as the weeks progress.....at least that's how I'm looking at it now. Go CJ!!!
  24. Perhaps you have let your long term disgust with the team effect how you perceive them play. Contrary to your thread premise, the Bills' D actually did get a lot of pressure on the QB. You seem to be unable to reexamine your initial premise even though virtually everyone is saying they saw things differently.
