Congrats man!

The stats look to back you up on that theory.......and I believe I recall Marrone(&/or Hackett....or some analysts?) commenting in the off-season the Bills lack of athleticism on the OL hindered the play calling last season. Here are the stats for CJ & FJ for the last 2 seasons by WR number: CJ: 2012 / 2013 2 WRs: 60-328(5.5 ave) / 128-542(4.2 ave) 3 WRs: 101-693 (6.9 ave) / 63-337 (5.3 ave) 4+ WRs: 17-103 (6.1 ave) / 7-37 (5.3 ave) FJ: 2012 / 2013 2 WRs: 34-140(4.1 ave) / 93-424(4.6 ave) 3 WRs: 49-204 (4.2 ave) / 91-432 (4.7 ave) 4+ WRs: 16-64 (4.0 ave) / 5-10 (2.0 ave) From those numbers one can see that CJ's average ypc dramatically increased in both years from a 2WR formation to a 3WR formation......while the less speedy/elusive FJ's numbers remained similar in both categories. One can also see that 2012 saw a far higher percentage of 3WR formations than 2013. I personally think that rookie QB(and rookie WRs) & athleticism of OL was the cause for this......we shall find out this season if that was the case.

I guess that means that he will not leave......and he will ask something of the others that say he provides nothing. We really should try and manipulate this so he gets between 50% and 59% to stay.

Here you go.... (The original thread was put in Off the Wall)

I don't understand how they can come up with this..... "....and the only plays omitted were sacks, which are neither pass attempts or rush attempts." Unless there has been a fumbled snap(insignificant number), a sack is definitely an attempt to pass the ball and IMO should be added into the stats for this exercise. I doubt it would alter the results but it should have been used.

What if EJ Is Really Good and Stays Healthy?
Dibs replied to Gugny's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Really good play from EJ? If he does we will be pushing high into the playoffs, possibly SB if other things come together. I've been thinking about this lately. It has been so long since the Bills have been good that I have no idea how I(or my fellow Bills fans) will react. I think that I might go into 6 months of stunned disbelief if we not only win a playoff game but look good doing it. -
My point was the opposite. He has always come across to me(at least from memory) that he is a decent guy......and not an A-hole that I feel like smacking in the mouth.
-
Though I think that you perhaps have more than your fair share of being an idiot......and you can hold on to things like a dog with a bone, I don't perceive you being of bad character, so I'm totally happy with you sticking around. I'd rather be surrounded by people with whom I struggle sometimes to have discourse with than people who might agree with me more but are A-holes that I want to smack in the mouth.
-
I would never have guessed that by your continually upbeat and positive posts.

That's one of my favourites! Probably top 10. The other "dollars trilogy" movies were pretty good......but nothing compared to TGTB&TU. Fantastic movie which I watch at least once a year.

I think we are closer than we have been in years
Dibs replied to Kellyto83TD's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If every single group is significantly better than last year we will not only be making the playoffs, but making a run for the SB. We are well past the era of having teams dominating in all aspects to win SBs. -

Dibs replied to Kellyto83TD's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think the new OLmen additions are another important factor. If we hit on 2 OL upgrades then EJ can take us to the playoffs with only decent improvement.....and the new D system as the OP mentioned. -
Though I'm not a big believer in the wisdom of the masses, it is interesting to me that of the 208 previous replies in this thread, 40 were from one particular poster who thinks Spiller is a terrible RB.....and 22 from a second poster with similar thoughts. It seems that perhaps only a small very vocal percent of people rate his negatives far higher than his positives. It seems strange, but I am often finding myself wanting certain players to succeed just to spite the dogmaticly negative posters as much as wanting them to succeed simply because they are Bills players.

In fairness to Section242, he never stated that he didn't think Spiller will(could) get $5M. His point was that RB contracts are relatively low. Here is the list of RB contracts: http://www.overtheca...php?Position=RB As you can see, only 11 RBs are on $5M+/year.......Spiller being one of them due to rookie contract. You seem to be arguing with yourself a bit here. If Spiller is as bad as you insist in this thread, he will minimally have more injuries that impede his performance and will only be effective(when healthy) as a complimentary back......thus it would seem unlikely that he would crack $5M+/year. Personally I think that if he stays healthy & has a great year(as a complimentary back) he will likely be looking at up to $6M-$7M.......and if he somehow manages to shoulder the load of carries and has a great season he should get higher.
-
It was also the year following their 16-0 season where they broke many offensive records. They went into the 2008 season(Brady injury season), with no significant changes to the offensive roster.

TE discussion - Moeaki/Chandler, Bills wanted Ebron at #9....

Are you sure about the stat on Woods? I'm fairly certain that somebody linked a dropped passes list in a different thread and Woods was one of the best in the league at not dropping catchable balls? -
I don't think that that is truly indicative of his durability. He has had several more games where he has come out of the games with injury, and a lot more where he has played through injury thus limiting his productivity and usefulness to the team(ala 2013).
-
Spiller certainly has his flaws......which I guess to some people means that he sucks. He doesn't have the best vision, he is not as durable as one would like, he has a higher than average tackle for loss than most RBs, & he is no good in short yardage situations.......but......he is one of the most electrifying runners that I have ever seen. With a healthy passing game, some solid blocking, and healthy ankles, he should be very productive this year. I agree with the whole consistency issue. It harkens back to loving to watch Barry Sanders but prefering to have a Thurman or Emmit as your RB. Things are different now however. Not many teams rely on one RB to get the job done anymore. I personally am hoping he excels brilliantly in a support role. It will keep his contract numbers down so we could then afford to keep such a valuable weapon on the team in future years. And for the record.....for those that claim he was only productive in one year..... In his 2nd season he was a backup to FJ who was having an all-pro year until FJ got injured. Spiller started the last 6 games, racking up 446 yards on 86 carries(5.2ypa) & had 24 receptions for 187 yards in those 6 games. He followed that up with his 1244 rushing yards(6.0ypa) in his 3rd season(2012). Even his 933 yards(4.6ypa) last year was pretty good IMO considering the afore mentioned hinderences.

Rotoworld: Mike Williams may get cut?
Dibs replied to Big Blitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
All of the information is in your spotrac link. If we cut him we are up for a $1.6M cap hit. If he makes his workout bonus(plays the season) we are up for a $1.8M cap hit. If we cut him before the 3rd day of the 2015 NFL year we have no cap hit for 2015. If we cut him after day 3 he is guaranteed $5.2M.....and a total of a $6.8M if he plays. -
Rotoworld: Mike Williams may get cut?
Dibs replied to Big Blitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I agree with your concerns regarding Goodwin's durability. I don't however agree with the rest of your assessment on him. In the 2nd Jets game, both SJ & Woods were out injured. This left Goodwin as a starter(his only starting game). I was very surprised and pleased with what he showed in that game. He showed he had the ability to get open on the shorter routes and had exceptionally good hands(at least in that game). Final stats for his one starting game were 6-81 & 1TD. -
What if EJ Stinks or Gets Injured Again?
Dibs replied to Niagara Bill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It seems that everyone is polarized as usual. Either he is going to stink/get injured, or he is going to be good. Surely I am not the only one who thinks that EJ will be improved from last year, but still a work in progress after year 2. I really see no reason to expect him to regress.....nor leap into stardom in his second season. The lack of a 1st round pick next year will likely make no difference whatsoever to our QB situation. IMO it will be year 3 that will be the most telling. Either he will keep improving, or he will plateau and we will be looking for a QB in 2016. -
I'm not too sure how much help that is to my question. As things stand, the income a team generates from luxury suites is added to the overall monies in regards to determining the salary cap. They are not however used in league wide revenue sharing. I am curious as to how much profit(what percentage) a team might typically take from luxury boxes in stadiums not owned by the team. My thoughts here are that if a new stadium could bring in a massive increase in luxury suite money, it could go a long way towards the recouping of the building costs(over time of course).....either for an NFL owner/team building it, or in this case, the State doing so(if their percentage take is substantial).
-
I have a question that I'm sure somebody has the answer to: Q: In the case of a state owned stadium, who gets the profits from the luxury suites?
-
What I have learned from history is that I will win big in the lottery. A man won $20 million who lived two doors down from my friends, and another person won $10 million from the place where I buy my tickets. I know you lottery haters will say there is no way I can win, but these people won after years of trying. Like them, I have had years of trying to win the lottery and am now convinced that it will happen. I'm not saying I will win tens of millions, but I will definitely win at least one million.

Stadium ownership, luxury box suite sales(massive extra profits for this), stadium advertising/sponsorship.
