  1. Does what we call the rating(QBR, Total QBR, etc) effect the fact that you claimed something that was incorrect? Nope, it doesn't. You called me childish earlier for harping on this......and I agree. I am being childish. Why don't you be an adult and admit you made an error?
  2. Okay....I'll quibble over irrelevancies. Before 2011 there was no Total QBR. The passer rating was referred to as QBR. ESPN themselves call it Total QBR because when it was first introduced they needed to differentiate it from QBR. The passer rating link you gave states "also known as QB Rating". Having used the term for many a decade(regularly reading the QBR stats in Pro Football Weekly magazine), I am not going to adjust an old standard.......particularly if the only place that has the new "QBR" themselves call it Total QBR. "You should have said season stats"??? NO! You should have said QBR(or Total QBR or whatever). You however said stats. EJ has the better stats. You were wrong.
  3. How did I miss this thread......it's a doozie. Having good cognitive awareness, you undoubtedly realize that you inferred that everyone who is unhappy with EJ is a racist.
  4. No. I don't care about quibbling over what one should call ESPN's Total QBR. Call it what you like, it doesn't change the fact that you were wrong, One more chance. You stated Tannehill's stats speak for themselves when compared to EJ's. They don't! EJ's stats are better. Tannehill has had better Total QBR......but that isn't what you wrote. C'mon. It's cathartic. Say it with me. "I" "was" "wrong."
  5. I don't care. You clearly stated that Tannehill's stats are better than EJ's......even going so far as saying that they speak for themselves. You didn't say "Tannehill's ESPN Total QBR(or whatever you want to call it) is better than EJ's....and it speaks for itself(?)" Again.....it is good for the soul....."I was wrong." C'mon, you can do it. I have faith in you. EDIT: btw.....read my sig.
  6. No it isn't. It is the standard QuarterBack Rating used for decades. ESPN's Total QBR can't be calculated for careers unless ESPN decide to start doing it(which they don't). Nice try at deflecting from your eroneous statement earlier. Now, repeat after me "I was wrong."
  7. Have a look at the stats! EJ has the edge in all but one statistical category(and more than a full season less experience). You can't just make stuff up and hope you are right. There is an entire internet out there ready to prove you wrong when you do that. Tannehill/EJ Comp%: 59.1/59.8 YPA: 6.5/6.6 YPG: 223.7/198.8 TD%: 3.3/3.6 INT%: 2.7/2.5 Sacks/game: 2.9/2.5 Rush YPG: 13.3/18.1 Rush TD/game: 0.09/0.23 QBR: 78.1/80.6
  8. Just answering the thread title......Hell Yes! I would wait patiently 5 years if it was guaranteed we would have a great QB. Having a great QB means that one's team will at least get to a SB....and likely win one or more......plus of course the multiple playoof appearances through their career.
  9. Drew Brees did not flash his way out of San Diego. He was a pro bowl up and coming star QB who got injured in a contract year. The Chargers had Rivers on the bench and decided not to pay $20M/year to a QB who might not recover fully from his injury. Please, look it up(wiki would do the job). Brees leaving San Diego had nothing to do with their views on his ability.
  10. Sorry. Misinterpreted what you meant by "sure-fire". You meant sure-fire prospect......I thought you meant ended up as a sure-fire pro(as in frachise QB).
  11. Obviously, as they are clearly obtainable after the first round. The odds however of obtaining a "sure-fire" QB after the first 36ish picks are drastically reduced. Anyone who argues that it is a reasonable strategy to try and find your "sure-fire" QB after the very top of the 2nd round deserves also to be beaten.
  12. I think that this is likely a good assessment. I noticed late in the game that he seemed to have regressed to his habit from last season where he was hurrying things(going too quickly through his reads)......something he seemed to have fixed in weeks 1&2.
  13. Yeah, I was agreeing with you......and was pointing out that those fans who have totally given up on EJ won't be able to see your logic due to their fixed stance on the issue.
  14. Go back and watch the entire game, not just one highlight bad play.
  15. Which makes total sense if one is 100% convinced that he will never be better than mediocre. I for one am not willing to throw the baby out with the bathwater just yet though.
  16. You are right. Decimated was the wrong word. Totally dominated would perhaps better describe the OL against the Chargers.
  17. They also need to go back and look at the QBs who have won the last 20ish SBs and see how many were selected #1 overall in the draft, as well as the number that were selected before/after pick 36ish.
  18. Very true. The new rules might make an average 3 point jump this year. I'm interested now to follow this through the season and see what happens. Another good point. Again, I'm definitely going to follow this concept with interest this season.
  19. After his performance last season, I would surmise that you are wrong. He may have regressed.....but based on last season alone he would be slated as a starter on many, many teams.
  20. I agree the ave QBR has increased over the years, but perhaps 3 weeks is too early to call a dramatic change over recent years. Give the Ds some time to figure out the new wrinkles in the offenses(and new QBs) and we will likely see the number of QBs with 90+ QBRs closer to 10(like the previous bunch of years), rathef than the 18 we have so far this season.
  21. That is exactly what I meant. Thanks.
  22. Coaches, media & fans.
  23. That most likely is the case......but it doesn't change the concept that the day before we lost we were widely considered to have 3 starter calibre CBs.
  24. On Saturday we had 3 starting CBs and an awesome nickel CB specialist. Oh what a difference 1 game makes.
  25. The YPA is a factor in calculating the QBR......so yes, the longer passes count more.
