  1. No worries. Agreed, pitty ESPN don't have a defensive team Total QBR. It would be very interesting to see if its differential marries as well as standard QBR differential in this regard.
  2. What you have shown is not passer rating differential, it is the passer rating difference. The differential is the Offensive QBR divided by the Defensive QBR......not the Offensive QBR minus the Defensive QBR(as shown). Likely both lists work out to be somewhat similar though. ESPN Defensive Passer ratings for you(though I'm pretty sure it deducts the sack yardage from the QBR calculation so it isn't totally accurate)......it is the column "RATE": http://espn.go.com/n...osition/defense
  3. It sounds like you don't understand what C2C is. All that C2C means is that a team will try and spend roughly the cap level in actual dollars in a year. It rarely has any influence on how a team manages things.....and now that huge signing bonuses are not as commonplace(teams guaranteeing first several years of contracts etc), it doesn't even influence how they structure contracts. For some reason C2C got a bad reputation as if teams were being cheap or trying to save money by using it. The reality is it is a simple accounting tool to help teams stay not only under the cap, but also to help with their cash flow situations. It is also a basic guide that teams use and, the Bills for instance, have gone above C2C a few times in the last bunch of years when it became necessary to do so(the Mario year being one of them). You might also be interested to know that most NFL team use a C2C system. It is only the Dallas' s and Washington's of the league who can afford to ignore their cashflow situations.
  4. I gave the link just above your post. We are committed to $121M in 2015....which leaves $15.6M plus cap increase plus $6.8M for cutting Mike Williams. This gives $22.4M plus the cap increase. We can definitely re-sign Hughes and extend Dareus......but we also have Spikes....and need to fill a few gaps from lost starters. We also have Glenn who I'm sure will be restructured during next season.....plus Gilmore. Loading that much money into the DL would mean that in 2016/17 when we want to start re-signing young stars, the cap gap would become very small indeed. Orton will be making $7M next season if he chooses to stay. If EJ hasn't shown anything by then, I can see a 2-3 extension for Orton as well.....meaning even less money under future caps. It all comes down to whether Hughes is worth the massive amount that he will surely be asking for. Is he a star player......or is he the product of a good player playing along side 3 star players?
  5. We are paying Mario top QB money. $18.8M this year, $19M next, and $19.9M in 2016. If you want to know where the money is going next season: http://www.spotrac.c...falo-bills/cap/ (You will need to change the year to 2015 in the link) We will have a bucket load of cap room($15.6M plus annual increase....plus $6.8M when we cut Mike Williams). Hitting FA we have starters Hughes, Spikes, Searcy, Pears & Gay....and role players Hogan, Easley, Smith & Summers. Glenn will likely be seeing a $10M/year increase and Dareus a $5-6M/year increase. A quick look at the math shows that we will be hard pressed to re-sign Dareus, Glenn, Spikes and Hughes.....and then our future seasons will be tight so likely won't be able to re-sign all of our future stars.
  6. None at all for either player. Williams will cost us $6.8M if we keep him, but zero dead money if we cut him(which I am sure we are going to do). I am uncertain about Hughes. Where Dareus is obviously a stand alone star, I feel that Hughes could well be benefiting from having 3 star DLmen to play with. Ignoring the whole cap implications, Hughes may well be way overpriced for his talent level IMO. With Kyle Williams becoming a FA in 2017(aged 34), I would think that Dareus is the #1 signing priority for the Bills. For those interested, Dareus will be earning $8M+ next year. One also needs to consider the amount of money already invested in the DL. The 2015 Bills roster sees the top 2 players being DL (Mario & Dareus) as well as the 6th highest salary (K.Williams). With Dareus likely to get a pay increase re-signing, I cannot fathom how the Bills could justify adding another big contract to the DL. There is only so much money to go around. We certainly could re-sign Hughes, but with Glenn and Dareus needed to be signed for big dollars.....and with the hopeful re-signing of Spikes....plus maybe re-signing Gilmore......by the time we want to re-sign Kiko, Watkins, Brown etc there will be little money left......and if KW and/or Mario are still playing at elite level, we will also want to re-sign them in the future. I tend to think that Hughes has earned himself a big payday, but with a different team. I also tend to think that the team who signs Hughes will not get good value for money.
  7. How was it not the game plan in the first place? Marrone/Hackett need to swallow their pride and change from a run heavy offense to a passing one. Sammy will get the job done nearly every time.
  8. Wow.....7 consecutive drives without a 1st down!
  9. ....and against a team that is stout against the run and susceptible to the pass. Apparently Hackett worked all week to put together this game plan.
  10. Sack, fumble.....and fumble return.
  11. My guess is he will never do that again.
  12. Where's the holding calls?
  13. I guess it wouldn't interest the Jets fans.
  14. I have no problem with run-run.........but throwing the bomb when Sammy had a 10+ yard cushion on 3rd&5 was dumb IMO.
  15. I've never heard of this one before.
  16. If traded, Titans would be stuck with a dead cap hit of $8.4M. The team trading for him would be up for a $6.5M/year salary (till 2017)......though none of it would be guaranteed. I really can't see any team paying $6.5M for a guy who apparently has regressed to a backup calibre player.
  17. No mention of Pears? Does this mean he had a better game than previous weeks? I know he is the current TSW whipping boy but it sure would be handy if he is actually adjusting to the OG position and improving to mediocre levels.
  18. Check it again. 433/7 = 61.857 multiplied by 16 = 989.714286 You accidentally plugged in 443.
  19. His yards are 433 at this point.....translates to 990.
  20. It happened against the Bears and Lions as well.
  21. How about a TD pass to Watkins instead?
  22. Me too.....and I totally agree.
  23. 7 yard pass to Watkins.
  24. I don't have a problem with using Sammy as a decoy in a gameplan if it works....and if it was indeed the plan, it actually did mainly work (mind you, a few thrown to SW early would have made it work better).....but I don't think that it was part of the gameplan. I tend to think that Orton may have become a tad gunshy during the game (perhaps due to the early INT). I say this because I was infuriated when we were down to panic time at the end of the game and he still refused to look for SW Instead he targeted Woods for no yardage (when Watkins was a viable target down the field). I cannot imagine that the coaches were wanting that result from that play. Perhaps the coaches wanted Sammy targeted more throughout the game but Orton consistently chose the safer but lesser play. Then again, this seems to have been a similar issue with EJ at the helm. Perhaps it is the coaching. (?)
