  1. You aren't wrong. I was doing a bit of revisionist wishing....
  2. I would say the reason is the continual lack of minimally decent QB play.......though since the Saints aquired Brees as a FA, there is perhaps a decent arguement that the Bills could have done more(risked more) in trying to obtain him at the time.
  3. ......and somewhat incongruous to his HC's recent comments about Orton. It makes one wonder just how bad he graded EJ prior to his "improvements" if the QB play displayed by Kyle Orton is still beter than EJ.
  4. Wrong and rude. I was purely commenting on....well, on what I wrote. I had no hidden messege about EJ whatsoever.
  5. The "all in" comment was strange to me. Being one who focuses a fair bit on the cap, we were clearly nowhere near being "all in". We were(and are) a young team who has not only nicely built a fine future roster, but had a few key bad contracts to clear before those future roster players needed to be paid. Interestingly we only have $2.7M of cap space left this season. In essence.....and solely for this season...we have been leveraged about as far as we could be in regards to the cap. But IMO this was cleverly done with obvious design behind it. In the next 3 years we have Hughes, Dareus, Glenn & Kiko looking to earn huge dollars......as well as Gilmore, Bradham, Woods, McKelvin, Robey and K.Williams needing to be replaced or see likely salary increases.....as well as the RB position. It would be suicide IMO to fully leverage a team's cap without having the players to justify it. One also IMO needs a legitimate chance to win the SB in order to justify leveraging future caps. Imagine if we actually were spending the money now(rather than paying for old bad contracts). We potentially could be looking at an overpaid Byrd, Fitz, SJ and Levitre eating up our ability to resign Hughes, Glenn, Dareus and Kiko......let alone if we ever find a legit QB to pay.
  6. There are other players to consider in the next few years. Glenn will surely require at least a $10M increase in salary in 2016. There is also Gilmore, Bradham, RB(Spiller & FJ will be gone), and Robey......as well as the Dareus contract. In 2017 we see Kiko, Woods, McKelvin and Kyle Williams hitting FA. Top contracts to Glenn, Kiko, Mario, Hughes & Dareus.....along with potential increased spending at several other positions could see trouble down the road. If we ever find a QB to pay top dollar to, we could be forced into rebuilding before we ever get to making a run for the SB.
  7. Not often, but it does happen. Personally I think that Mario has lived up to expectations.
  8. How many 1st rounders become franchise changing picks......let alone franchise changing in their rookie seasons?
  9. It wouldn't have crossed the Bills' minds because we were not in the cap situation that needed to do it. Unlike the Saints who couldn't afford even a few more million hitting this years cap, the Bills could have simply given a bigger signing bonus in the first year, instead of switching up and forming it over two years as the Saints did. It was a clever strategy, but was one necessitated by situation......a situation the Bills were not in.
  10. I didn't realize that posting here could cause change in the Bills organization. I'll have to post more often.
  11. The way I see it, we have 2 scared QBs. One is scared to be hit(Orton)......the other is scared of making mistakes(EJ). I tend to think that EJ's fears affect his game play much more than Orton's do. The answer to the question of whether EJ has overcome the yips in his head is yet to be seen.
  12. Nobody in this thread has been discussing the alternatives to playing Orton......with no mention of EJ whatsoever. Your raising it in this thread is very out of place (other threads are covering that topic).
  13. What does EJ's suckitude have to do with Orton's suckitude? No matter how bad EJ might be, it doesn't change how bad Orton is.
  14. Good trolling here. Make the thread title specific to a certain fan mindset/view to attract them in to read......then attack that view with irrelevant information and spurious logic. I thought crusading, trolling and making threads for the specific purpose of annoying people was not allowed on this forum.
  15. Cleveland racked up 315 net yards against us. 6th best D in the league has given 317 ypg. They had 19 first downs. This would be 7th best in league if an average. 25% 3rd down efficiency......1st in league. 2.8 yards/rush......1st in league. 6.0 yards/pass.....1st in league. 10 points.......1st in league. The numbers show that they didn't move the ball that well at all.
  16. Oh please no! In that scenario, if Baltimore was to lose......that would mean that Miami would win.....which would put them a game ahead of the Bills. Where is Crayonz when you need him?
  17. And it is directly opposed to Marrone's stated beliefs that you put your best 5 guys on the field(also said he doesn't believe that line continuity was that important.....or at least not as important as having the best 5 on the field). My guess would be that Urbik simply doesn't look as good as the other OGs(or their potential)......particularly in practice/camp. In essence, perhaps Urbik plays better than he technically looks.
  18. ....or "Orton never looks downfield for him."
  19. Yeah, Manziel looks really scary lol.
  20. Give it a few weeks before you anoint Johnny M a sure thing.
  21. I've noticed over the last 8 weeks that Orton seems only capable of putting some touch on the rarest of passes.
  22. Now it's time for the Browns to implode.
  23. Yeah, but Sammy is still usually more open than Woods regardless.
  24. Why is it only Woods that Orton will throw downfield to?
  25. This is not Hackett........Orton is not even looking downfield!
