Just how hard is our schedule??
Dibs replied to NorthWesternBill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Really? You honestly think the Seahawks were robbed? I thought they had a few bad calls against them but their play was not good at all. Oh well, it's not like it was an important game or anything...like a Bills game -

Dibs replied to NorthWesternBill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Huh? The schedule is determined by a formula...it is predetermined & can't be modified by the NFL. Shhhh, don't tell anyone but the Seahaks lost SBXL because they were not the best team. -
AAARRRGGGHHH.... For the 1pm games, I have to get up at 3am to listen on the net. (5am daylight savings time) I guess Bills fans are nuts.

Unless the Saints stuff it up or get an offer they can't refuse(trade out of top 4) I think your assumtion is a near certainty.

The Vikings are sheduling a visit with QB Cutler.

Um, yeah...what he said -typing as you posted-- I totally agree -

My initial raction is to agree with you. What is emotionally very difficult to get past is the BIG names at the top of the draft...I mean, who doesn't want one of them over the next lot of (lesser) names. Surely however, it would come down to how much compensation we get for the trade down. It's a deep draft...could we pass up their #1,#2 & #3....what about their #1, #2 & #4? In the end, what does it matter if we get a rookie who can play right now or one who takes a year to develop? Who hear thinks an impact rookie will be the diffence between a loosing team & a playoff team? -
Hmmm, is 'VIVE LA FRANCE, VIVE LA GUERRE' even French. He is certainly not in France(his user time is West coast U.S.A.) & his use of the English language though extraordinarily verbose seems un-French. No froggy would lower himself by using so many Anglican words when he could use a lot less....he would soil his tongue.

Not necessarily....I read this in the latest Scouts Inc. Mock Draft(today) "...unlike the Titans, the Jets are rumored to value QB Jay Cutler (Vanderbilt) over Young. They don't want to take Cutler this high, but they would consider it strongly if Bush, Leinart and Ferguson are gone by the fourth pick. " Mind you, what are the odds that Super Mario drops to #5?

Anyone think we could land Hawk and Bing
Dibs replied to 1billsfan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm betting Leinart goes at No.2 Either the Jets trade up to get him(or a lower team...maybe?) or the Titans move up one to guarantee it. Certainly not set in stone in my mind. -
Maybe you should put a paper bag on your head, then no one will recognize you.

It is the Dawning of the Age of Roscoe

Roscoe is gonna be great...a tonne more 'roids & he'll beef up just fine. -
The Houston Chronicle reports that it's a 5th rd
Dibs replied to Tipster19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't believe it. Until it's reported on mass in the media I view it as rubbish. If all we get is a 5th then good WRs must be far more common than I thought. I agree with that other post saying that this trade has been very secretive....let's wait & see. -
No. Chiefs do pick 20 but that is their true draft order pick. Must be a typo. 1st round: http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/draft06/news/story?id=2278820

Teams are inquiring about Green Bay's #5 pick.
Dibs replied to Tipster19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Gone by #5:- Bush Leinhart Williams D'Brick It's all guessing but I would think most would be surprised if this were not the case. From all reports, these four are a cut above the rest. But hey, the draft has surprises every year. -

Dibs replied to Tipster19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Unfortunately, the two who we really would trade up for (Brick & Williams) will be gone by #5....unless the Jets draft a QB. -
There would not be many Bills fans who honestly believe we can make the playoffs this year....we'd all love it to happen but it would have to take a rare thinker to truly believe it. That being said, what does it matter(in the long run) if we have glaring holes. I'm hoping we take the best available player with each pick, especially the #8 pick. Either that or trade down & get more picks. If Ngata doesn't fit the system & Bunkley is a reach at #8, we should either trade down or select a different possition.

This is (sort of) an example of what I meant, though it expands past just Marv & into the entire organization. IMHO it doesn't come down to "positive" & "negative" opinion, it comes down to "rational" & "irrational"....or "dogmatic" & "pragmatic". A dogmatic, irrational opinion is offensive regardless of weather it is positive or negative. This reminds me of past conversations with friends where 4 of us who followed different teams would enjoy an intelligent discussion of Football possibilities & opinions & the 5th friend(Cowboys fan) would constantly chip in with things like "The Bills SUCK"....makes you want to punch someone in the face. Re: peoples thoughts on Marv, I can now see clearly the reasons for skepticism & pessimism but nothing substantial that should convince anyone he will stuff up(& I'm not saying he won't). Now look what I've done...I've gone all super serious & that is just no fun at all. Rockpile...

Should JoeSixPack quit with the lame Threads?
Dibs replied to boomerjamhead's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I assume Joe voted No. -

Me neither, the Brick will not drop this far. Mind you, I agree with their top 8, just not the order.

http://www.draftdaddy.com/MD/GJH_Mock.cfm I hate seeing this sort of thing. It's impossible but my brain just keeps saying "But it's in a MOCK, it must be credible."

Good point, I hadn't really considered that. I guess it is now(& will always be) simple conjecture on how good a coach he was. Regarding the Super Bowl losses though, personally I've always felt that we were unlucky against the Giant(we had the better team) but against the Skins & Boys, we were basically outclassed(they had the better team). I view it that even if his appointment to GM is a desperate PR move, that doesn't mean he can't/won't do a O.K./good/great job, it just means his appointment to the possition was not fully based on his merits.

I did say besides the age reason.....because.... Everything is percentages. Most old people "get dumber" as you put it but, at what age does that happen? How quickly does it happen? It happens quicker in some than others. It happens to a greater degree in some than others. In some, it never happens at all. How do we know how much age has affected Marv? (& there is no arguement that he has been a brilliant man throughout his life) Is he affected? I don't know. Do You?
