  1. ....& for a second or two they thought he'd eaten him.
  2. Hey Ozy....what happened on draft day? You guaranteed me Ngata to the Bills was a done deal. What happened?
  3. Not that I have faith in any anylist anymore but for what it's worth.... 2005 league DE rankings & grades from Scouts. Inc. 1 Julius Peppers 95 2 Dwight Freeney 94 3 Michael Strahan 93 4 Jason Taylor 90 5 Jevon Kearse 85 6 Shaun Ellis 84 7 Charles Grant 83 8 Aaron Schobel 82 9 Leonard Little 82 10 Simeon Rice 82
  4. Mike Williams signed with the Bucs. .... ....um, no wait a minute. Mike Williams signed with the Jags! ..... ....what's that about the Lions? ..... Who are we talking about again?
  5. How about some more over-simplifying. If it was so easy to trade down, why didn't the Lions trade down. Surely Sims(or equal value) would have still been there a few picks later.
  6. That is the frustrating thing...time. By the time we know one way or the other......
  7. Um...which player was the obvious value choice again? It sounds like Marv & Co. believe that the BPA was Whitner. Are you suggesting they should have followed ESPNs big board rather than their own?
  8. I think you misunderstood me.... I wasn't passing judgement on him, I was saying.... A fifth rounder is not generally expected to be an instant starter. This was in response to those that were implying(or stating) that if Butler does not start, it is a bad pick. I'm quite content to let our 5th rounders develop but hey.... I hope your assessment on him is correct & he starts opening day.
  9. How good will Whitner have to be to justify the #8 pick? 1: If he is better than Huff....pick justified(obviously) 2: If he is a pro-bowler....pick justified. (what % of top 10 picks become pro-bowlers?) 3: If he starts instantly & has a solid career....pick justified. (what % are busts?) Even if we picked him at #11, #13, #15 or #17, justifications 2 & 3 would still apply. The reality is.... half of the first round(give or take) are busts. The reality also is.... half of the top 10 picks selected(give or take) are busts. Who cares where he is taken... If he isn't a bust, Pick Justified.
  10. But....we reached....we're crapola....Marv is a dufus....ESPN said.... You know, even if Marv took 'the trade down' everyone says was there, likely he would have netted a 3rd rounder. If we assume he did this & picked a bust with it....all is square. Youboty(3) was meant to go in the 1st Simpson(4) was meant to go in the 2nd Williams(5) was meant to go in the 3rd What is wrong with everybody? A draft is 7 rounds not just 1 &..... A draft is not about who the media thinks is good.
  11. Hmmm, Jason Peters is nothing? Last year nearly every Bill underperformed. Let's see what happens to the line when it is motivated with some fresh blood.
  12. Oh, STFU! & to all those who think a 5th round rookie is expected to start..... STFU to you too.
  13. Quick, get a Hard-Hat....the sky is falling! 2 OL were drafted since our 3rd pick.... OT Rashad Butler C Jason Spitz (I can't imagine you would have been happy with them.) There are only 7 picks before us in Round 4. Perhaps they know an awful lot more about the talent available than us.
  14. What makes you think we would have taken Huff anyway? Huff hits like a tough CB(which is what he is drafted as). Marv got his guy.
  15. That's where we trade down with ???? because we know they are desperate for ????
  16. No idea....I would imagine there are heaps since I watched a report saying it was a huge mistake bringing it down here. It simply doesn't have a big enough following down here.
  17. Hey, over here in Australia it is 10:41pm Saturday night. Draft day is over & I can tell you all 3 things. 1. M. Williams goes #1 2. R. Bush #2 3. TBD is in disagreement over who Buffalo picks
  18. 3 Mocks at 'sportsline'....post Mario #1 Dennis Dodd....#8 Haloti Ngata, DT Clark Judge.....#8 D'Brickashaw Ferguson, T Pete Prisco......#8 D'Brickashaw Ferguson, T Apart from Raiders, they had the same top 8 1 HOU Mario Williams, DE 2 NO Reggie Bush, RB 3 TEN Vince Young, QB 4 NYJ Matt Leinart, QB 5 GB A.J. Hawk, LB 6 SF Vernon Davis, TE 7 OAK Michael Huff, CB (Haloti Ngata, DT) 8 BUF D'Brickashaw Ferguson, T As I've said all along(to myself)... If the Jets take a QB, we could get lucky Link: http://www.sportsline.com/nfl/draft/mock
  19. Even worse, The Lions will do the same depriving us of 14 minutes of complaining about the lack of coverage of the Bills pick.
  20. Isn't Amen a country in the Middle East?
  21. I really don't want do defend any 'analyst' because generally I think they are 'media' & their jobs are to keep us interested, not to keep us informed but.... How the hell is an insider to 'KNOW' what a team will do before they do it? Teams often are still undecided during their 15mins on draft day. It was reported that Titans were interested in Mario at #1. I don't think this information was a lucky guess. Do you? The person(s) that reported this information obviously did not know what the end result was to be....otherwise they would have reported it as such. That all being fair, it comes back to odds(or sensation) on who is put into a Mock, not 100% facts.
  22. There have been inside sources for the last 2 weeks linking Mario with the #1 pick. The problem is the same as with psychics. Which one do you listen to?
  23. Not saying you are totally wrong but you are definitely underestimating the value of Mario. White, Smith, Peppers....Williams? Saints will trade.
