  1. That sounds like a reasonable expectation to me. It's funny how the 'doom & gloom' brigade will brand your 'optimism' about 1 or 2 as 'homer glasses' & their expectations of none panning out as 'realistic assessment'.
  2. Wow, it appears this trade is pretty much universally well received here at TBD. I don't think I've seen a thread with so much consensus.(though I haven't been here too long) Isn't it nice when we can all play in the same sandbox without knocking over each others sand-castles.
  3. I'm not disagreeing(though I have no idea of their staff myself) but.... Wasn't the great Joel Buchsbaum a youngish dorky guy not so long back?
  4. From what I've noticed, a good number at TBD have decided that 3 days into the FA period was enough grace period for the new organization. Personally I expect to see improvement on the field by the end of the season. That doesn't necessarily mean more wins, just a more consistent effort & determination from the players.
  5. Changing topic a little...... What about Tasker? I admit I may be a bit biased due to him being my favourite player but... Why isn't he in the HOF? Surely being the greatest of all time at a position should enable first year entrance into the HOF.
  6. I could be wrong, but I am under the impression a coach needs to be 3 years retired before eligibility.
  7. Oh look, there is more than 1 page of pics Silly me
  8. HAHAHAHA LMFAO $100......and the family dog.....Magnificent! Great find EC.
  9. Nice pics but.... ....where are all the hot chicks????
  10. I'd like to lose money there someday.

  12. But....McNabb only played 9 games & at least 3 of those he was hampered by that sternum injury thingy. If you compare McNabbs stats to his backups(McMahon & Detmer) you see the reason appears perhaps to be them. Also T.O. might just have had 'lapses' in concentration due to his own 'issues'.
  13. The link is the only article on this I have read....am I missing something? A guy gets his car stolen, he finds who stole it & it ends up in a fight. Sure he should have gone to the police to let them handle it but.... If he was a normal schmoe like stated earlier, this would never be considered news & certainly would not end up in jail time unless the accused had priors. Like I said, am I missing something here? Is there more to the story or is everyone just assuming that because he is a black professional athlete he is a bad guy? I tell you what, if someone stole my car & I encountered them, there would be a good chance of a physical confrontation. How about you?
  14. I got the link from that thread.
  15. Yeah....but it was fun watching him spit the dummy like that. Good use of """
  16. Here is a list of 'dropped passes' percentages. Evans had the 14th best percentage in the league. As it happens, Moulds had the 11th. Considering the terrible play at O-line & QB for us...what does this imply? With an optimistic eye I can see Evans(super fast, agile & sure handed) blossoming into a #1 WR. http://insider.espn.go.com/nfl/insider/col...r_kc&id=2466157 Here are the top 20 receivers in dropped pass percentage from the 2005 season: Dropped Passes Player Team Dropped passes Dropped pass % Houshmandzadeh Cincinnati 3 2.6% Marvin Harrison Indianapolis 4 3.2% Bobby Engram Seattle 4 4.3% Jason Witten Dallas 4 4.5% Steve Smith Carolina 7 4.7% Scottie Vines Detroit 3 4.8% Tony Gonzalez Kanas City 6 4.9% Eric Parker San Diego 4 4.9% K. 17. ....but we even used a 1st rounder this year on the D line. We are doomed to never be able to stop the run. Not only did we take a 1st rounder but brought in a FA. What does that do to the philosophy???? With such an incoherent philosophy the players on the D line are bound to be totally confused, lose faith, slack off & generally not be any good. If only the new management had some sort of consistency in their approach to the team.
  18. What the hell is wrong with PARROTING anyway???? I will proudly PARROT stats, 'expert' opinions, someone elses logicical analysis, etc, etc. About the only thing I wont PARROT is people who tell me how things are by what they saw. Only after showing success many times in their analysis of someones play will I contemplate it.(Though I will keep it in mind & not simply dismiss it either) If you won't listen to someone quoting someone/something else because it is PARROTING, how can you expect them to take onboard/relay(PARROT) what you are saying? Get as much information from as many sources as possible & make a LOGICAL assessment. Great thread KzooMike...lotsa fun.
  19. I have just started reading Marv Levi's Autobiography & the first chapter recounts our SB loss to the Giants with Scott Norwoods missed FG. He finishes the chapter by describing how when the team got back to Buffalo there were 30,000 fans waiting at the stadium chanting "Scott, Scott, Scott" That actually was aired in the sports section of the news out here in Australia. At the time it firmed my descision to have the Bills as 'my team'. I finished that chapter with a lump in my throat. I don't really know what my point is here....I think it is something to do with being a 'Bills Fan'.
  20. Um...I know nothing about Hockey but...weren't the Sabres described as a"no talent, no heart, shambolic" organization before this season?
  21. My line of "I disagree" was responding to your last line of "Those countering that person's statements are looking at this through homer glasses." I actually didn't disagree with much at all, mainly just the contention that we have a "real chance" at going winless. My point is (surprisingly enough) roughly what you have written above. 'Wanting' things to happen(either way) does not make them happen. Going winless is (obviously) pushing those percentages way too high. On the other hand, if this was a thread saying we will win 14+ games & was giving the reasons why, I would have rebutted that in a similar manner. To look at each possibility & assume they all will fall one way over the other is ridiculous. I totally agree that we are not a good team...a 5-11 record shows that quite sufficiently. Weather we will be better than last season or worse is total conjecture at this point. To think we will regress overall is IMO fair enough. I don't think that but it's just opinion. To think we will not improve in any area & also regress in some as well is ridiculous.
  22. I used to root for Akili Smith to make it so we could put together an all Smith team. Hmmmm, I wonder if TB are thinking of converting MW to QB. Then we could build the all Williams team.
  23. What are you rolling your eyes at? It maybe childish & purile but.... You know it's funny.
