Hmmm, standing pat at or using existing talent at...
CB1
CB2
FS
OLB1
MLB
OLB2
DE
DE
RG
LT
RT
WR1
FB
RB
QB
Obviously we are rebuilding.
add to that...
K
P
KR
PR
LS
Yep, GM & Coach obviously feel that the existing talent needs to be wiped & a rebuild is well under way.
I've read a lot of posts recently refering to this being a rebuilding year.
Why?
On Defense we will be starting 4 new starters.
2 rookies(assuming Whitner starts)
1 FA
1 elevated talent
On Offense we will be starting 4 new starters.
4 FAs
There is new coach/management but I find it hard to imagine they are thinking they are 'rebuilding' for the future. They are building for now. Marv said it appears like a rebuild year. He didn't say it is a rebuild year.
There has been no wholesale gutting of the roster.
Rebuilding implies starting again from scratch. From what I see, the blocks for the future are falling into place with quite a few of them being already on the roster. Everything points towards a fundamentally sound team....not an all out rebuild.
Obviously certain areas are lacking, but if they weren't, we would be contenders wouldn't we.
Yeah, but the thing is....some people might find the 'fat chick' comment offensive.
I'm OK with it(context) but I did think it could be a bit rough for some people. I mean....what if your wife, the love of your life & the one you adore(for the sake of argument, all are one in the same) are a 'fat, ugly, obnoxious-voiced chick who has two hairy moles on her chin'? One would probably take offense if this were the case.....they might also start heavy drinking in a fit of depression, but you see the point.
MIKE WILLIAMS is going to Miami.
It's obvious....just look at the letters in his name....MIKE WILLIAMS.
Rearranged they clearly spell.....
WE KILLS MIAMI
Obviously he is destined to go to Miami, quickly work his way into the starting line-up....& stuff up at the worst possible moments for them.
Sounds reasonable to me....you that is.
This reminds me of one of my many theories in life....
"It's often not what you say that matters, it's how you say it."
....mind you, how do you say someones mother sucks your balls without it sounding over the top?
Ah, I remember my point....WM is potentially a great RB!
I'll unhappily accept that my view might be wrong but I won't believe it until he proves it one way or the other this season. IMO there are enough factors for the positive & the negative to suggest he could go either way.
GO WM!!!!
That's right up there with one of my favourites.....
"It's so unbelievable it must be true."
To some, the opposite of what 'everyone' thinks/is saying, is the real truth.....just because.
I have a feeling you will get your wish.
#1 Evans...no brainer
#2 Price...unless something astounding happens Price is our best bet for #2
#3 Parrish...Apart from the fear he will break, this guy is the guy for the #3 job.
I don't see how Reed will likely be anything but our #4 or #5 WR.
I think he will see a lot of playing time but realistically we have 3 better WRs than him.
To me, what you wrote(in bold) is precisely the optimistic/pessimistic 'problem'.
To an optimist....
a mediocre or average OL this season is a huge upgrade over last season. It is a reason to feel good about which direction the line & team in general is taking. It is just cause for feeling we should be improved over last year and with a bit of luck might be greatly improved.
To a pessimist....
a mediocre or average OL means that it was not adequately addressed in the off-season. It is a reason to feel bad about the priorities of Bills management. It means we(in all likelihood) will not be contenders this year & unless it is address next off-season, we will likely be in the same position as we are now in 2007.
I understand where PG is coming from re: pessimism.
It's one thing to logically conclude that we won't be very good this year. To me that is totally understandable.
It's another thing entirely to discount & ignore the concept that we just might be improved. To me....I cannot understand how a fan can dogmatically ignore positive possibilities.
I'm thinking Einstein was not that bright after all.
98% won't be able to do it.
The only logical conclusion is that Einstein was right in his assessment of 2% will be able to get it correct & that Bills fans are intrinsically better at solving riddles than most people.
Is the reason every post on this thread you have done ends with(or contains) a mean that you are simply playing devil's advocate or do you honestly believe this stuff you spout? Figure head.
