  1. Very well put Bill. I'd like to add a thanks to all on behalf of those living waaaaay out of town(if I may). TBD gives an isolated Bills fan a sense of community for which I am exceedingly grateful to you all. GO BILLS!!!
  2. Actually I was thinking more along the lines of good system building & play calling but hey, MM showed that that makes no difference to the success of the QB.
  3. Offensive Coordinator & HC should perhaps get some kudos for the (preseason)success at QB as well. Bring on the real thing!! GO BILLS!!!
  4. ....but.... if Davis is as good at ST as some here are saying(as good as Aiken), it would make sense to give the roster spot to him. He is young & still could evolve into a fast/deep WR threat.
  5. Thankyou, thankyou, thankyou. It's sooooo obvious now.
  6. .....off topic but important(to me because it's driving me mental trying to figure it) What does IIRC stand for?
  7. If you are going to say Wilson is a lock, I think you should offer your reasons for him being one. He didn't catch a ball today.
  8. before or after that post?
  9. A.Davis gets a long TD reception in the 4th Q of the 4th preseason game.....therefore he makes the roster. J. DiGiorgio gets a sack in the 4th Q of the 4th preseason game.....therefore he makes the roster? I think Davis is gone.
  10. Subtle.... yet humble.
  11. Sounds like it was written before even training camp let alone preseason.
  12. But what if KW & TA are performing at the same level at the moment?
  13. Could JP be the next great Bills QB? Yep. Will he be the next great Bills QB? I don't know...I hope so.
  14. Well that certainly added to the discussion. Since we're talking about something different to what PG was.... How about the production level of the 16th & 18th picks in the previous draft? Oh wait, that was William Green & T.J. Duckett.
  15. I take that back!!! That is BEST CASE predictions. They have us beating the Titans... & they have the Titans beating us. Best Case & they don't think we can beat the Texans. I should look more closely before I post next time.
  16. Actually, I don't mind at all seeing a listing of each teams individual predicted win/lose along side their predicted record. Seeing (roughly speaking) the odds of each win/loss is also sort of cool. I'm not saying the predictions have merit but personally I would like to see all predictions done in a similar manor so I can see which teams they actually think will beat/lose to a certain team....yes PWF preview 2006, I'm talking to you.
  17. ...but that's alright because they picked up Harrington. He was the #3 overall in the draft one year so he must be pretty good.
  18. Hey PG, you might want to edit your post & bold your actual question in it so people can find it quicker.
  19. It's not the same situation at all. 2003 Dillon got injured & Johnson ended up with 957yds at 4.5ave & 9TDs. Cincy knew Johnson could replace the aging Dillon. The Colts not only have an established Star QB, OL & WR corps but had the luxury of picking up a 1st round draft pick replacement for Edge. I can't tell if your analogies of comparing us with the Bengals/Colts was due to ignorance, stupidity or disingenuousness.
  20. This was discussed a little bit earlier....by the two Melbourne, Australia guys who post here. EARLIER THREAD
  21. It seems to me that every second post I read is either obsessively promoting a view on something... usually out of context to the thread it's in or... over-reacting to innocent posts which happen to touch on the obsessors agenda. Hot agenda issue of the day..... Willis McGahee. Why do people feel the need to bring him up in EVERY bloody thread regardless of the thread topic? Do they think that will result in their view being right? Is this just preseason nervousness or am I just noticing it more lately? ....oh, yeah.....obviously I am for/against whatever it is you think I am writing this thread for so please....open fire.
  22. Gee, that makes a change.
  23. Another factor which is very hard to quantify but I feel is very relevent is.... I've noticed that often, when a team picks a successful 1st day pick, they can also 'get on a roll' & have success year after year with said picks. If there is some merit to this, this would skew the results even further due to the compound nature involved. Examples: Ravens 96-03 Ogden, R.Lewis, Boulware, Sharper, McAlister, J. Lewis, Heap, Reed, Suggs Colts 96-03 Harrison, Tarik Glenn, Manning, E. James, Peterson, M.Washington, R. Wayne, Freeney, Tripplett, Doss Some of the players might get injured or move on but you get the idea.
  24. Ditto....that makes far better sense to me.
  25. Initially, to me, it sounded tempting....2 top 10 picks but since we don't have a reasonable #1 RB, it could devastate the team. The extra pressure on JP might wreck his confidence for the future & the likelihood of us being decent this season goes right out the window. The players could lose faith in the new regime before we even get onto the field. Willis is no 'sure thing' IMO. He has the ability/potential to become great but..... He is more of a 'sure thing' than a high 1st round pick though. The logic some use on him is weird. If he is going to leave for 'greener' pastures next year, that implies he will have produced this year & will be a valuable commodity on the FA market....yet the same people are stating that he really isn't 'that' good. Either he is worth a top 10 pick or he is not....you can't have both.
