It goes to show how 'good' it is to achieve 300yds passing along with 150 yds rushing. It's aweful that we blew such an advantage but considering our QB is still learning(11th start), we're starting 4 rookies on D, our #1 WR looks like he is learning how to be a #1, our star playmaker is on the sidelines on D and our OL & entire team is only 3 games into new schemes, coaches etc & are yet to gel properly.....I'd say there is a lot to (possibly) look forward to. GO BILLS!!!!

A lot have been mentioning how Penny picked us apart & how we didn't adjust etc, etc. I don't think that was what actually happened. I'll summarize the Jets offense.... 5 yards Punt, 1 yard Punt, 6 yards Punt.....Everything smooth so far. 74 yards TD.....WOW alarm! 4 yards Punt.....Back to normal? 67 yards TD......OK adjustments now need to be made at the half! After halftime 19 yards Punt, 12 yards Punt, 4 yards punt....Looks like adjustments were well made. The last drive was a 58 yard TD drive but to me it felt like our D had already gone home having lost heart at the way the O not only squandered opportunity after opportunity but also turned the ball over giving them points. Most of the game(7 out of the first 9 drives) our D was all over their O.

No. Most negative posts I've seen say that he played soooo bad that he will never be good & he needs to be replaced. What this thread has said is that he actually showed some promise. Look around the league today. How many crappy QB performances were achieved & by pro bowl caliber players too. This week showed me that JP can put up the numbers(which we hadn't really seen before) but that he also has a lot more to learn.

Of course it's enough to win....they won. The point is that for most of the game our D was all over their O.....which in a lot of ways makes this loss harder to take than otherwise. Need to do better? Yes. Encouraging? Yes. You make it sound as though we were being trounced all day. That simply was not the case.

I think you are mistaken here. If you take away their last drive(where our D was spent) they had 2 short yardage gains on the ground....not good but not bad. Their running game didn't however contribute for them all day apart from that. They only had 3 long drives which consisted mainly of pass, pass, pass, pass. Their 7 other drives were stuffed fairly soundly by our D. Our Run Defence was good today....against a poor rushing team mind but good non the less.

The thing is.....we basically shut the Jets offence down apart from those 3 drives. This could imply an extremely streaky side to the Jets O but IMO is indicative of how good this D is going to become. Bad tackling? Only in 3 series. 7 series we had first class tackling.

5 drives under 6 yards 2 more under 20 yards Our defence didn't pressure but apart from lapses in 3 drives, they played extremely well. What is it you expect? 4 rookies starting on defence (5 contributers) & there are only lapses on 3 drives. How good is this D gonna be when these guys mature? I just don't understand this sort of negativity.

Browns upto 118 yards with a TD & are winning. I feel this thread was a tad premature in it's posting.

Well, they're up to 60 yards now(just into 2nd Q). I'm not saying they don't have a top defence but at least let the Browns play more than a drive before you laud the Ravens D.
