  1. Um....OK......you're stupid. Happy now?
  2. WM has only had 2 opportunities for 3rd/4th & short this season(3 games). In week one he failed with the 4th & 1(A.Thomas had a 3rd & short success in this game when WM hurt his ankle) In week two he succeded on 3rd & 2. Every single other 3rd/4th & short has beed a pass attempt(one being a fake punt pass)....except for a JP QB sneak. The coaching staff have not given him enough oportunities to show us either way whether there is a problem there or not.
  3. Yeah but the thing is... 3 of the 6 third & shorts were 3rd & 2 or 3rd & 1.... also 4 of those 3rd & shorts we went for on 4th down anyway. If WM had gotten 2 yards on 3rd & 3 & we are going for it on 4th down, we are now at 4th & 1 not 4th & 3. The line never got a chance to show if they could get the job done or not.
  4. Is the NFL rigged? Well what do the masses think? They think it's rigged...OK....must be rigged then.
  5. I know it isn't easy but like I said, when the running game is doing sooooo well, to not run on any 3rd/4th & short is not good playcalling. 0 for 10. I'm not saying tar & feather the coaches but I'd hope for more diversity next time WM is running up a storm.
  6. Magic. Spot on.
  7. You think? Lets see.... We had 6 plays of 3rd & 4 or less, we attempted a pass on all....as follows. 3rd & 3...pass...failed 3rd & 4...pass...failed 3rd & 4...pass...succeeded 3rd & 2...pass...succeeded 3rd & 1...pass...failed 3rd & 1...pass...failed We had 4 4th down attempts....as follows. 4th & 3...fake punt(pass)...failed 4th & 3...pass...failed 4th & 6...pass...succeeded(JP scramble) 4th & 3...pass...failed. Considering that 73% of WMs runs were for 4 or more yards during the game I'd say the main culprit to why we did not achieve 3rd and short or 4th and short was mainly because of bad play calling. When your RB is carving up the D like Willis was, how can you not call a run on any of the 10 3rd/4th & short attempts???
  8. Whereas the Losman-realist.... sees that the player in question has improved incrementally & sees no evidence to support the cessation of the player improving let alone the long term regression of said player. Why do some people seem to want some of our players to be crap?
  9. *sigh*
  10. When did it become the rule that if you are not perfect you are not good enough for this team? I understand peoples frustrations with 6 years of losing but I honestly thought there would be a higher percent of people in Buffalo with some football smarts than TSW exhibits.
  11. Maybe so....maybe not. He is however a 'very good' back. Why must we have the best in the league? When did 'very good' become not good enough for the Bills?
  12. Now that Atlanta's RB Dunn has only achieved 44 yards against the awesome Saints( ), that leaves our very own Willis McGahee as #1 in yards per game. #1. McGahee = 311....103.67ypg #2. Dunn = 310....103.33ypg #3. Tomlinson = 202....101ypg This does not make him the best back in the league but it sure is nice knowing a Bills Offensive player is heading a major statistical category(on the positive side). To those who think WM is not at least a 'very good' RB.....
  13. I rarely get in any way abusive or offensive in my posts but I must say that this post is absolutely MORONIC. I know it's not politically correct but I would love a 'Tard' smiley complete with distorted facial features & mongy hands....I'd be using it here. Where did this notion come about that players about to hit FA start to take it easy? That is just STUPID! The player will be doing there utmost to appear to be upper-echelon talent so they can get the huge contract.....not play like a looser so they get the okay one. The next contract NC (or even WM for that matter) signs will be his 'big' one. It will be a multi-year deal & take him to his twilight years as a player. To even contemplate he is slacking it off for....what possible reason is there? For saving himself for his new club??? *sigh* The concept is MORONIC!
  14. I hear what you are saying & I'm not saying he won't be a future star, it's just that....a bird in the hand etc. So many times in this league players who look like they have the goods don't pan out when they are given the opportunity to shine. There are enough 'stars' who when they change teams seem to regress back to the pack....let alone the odds of this happening for a backup. Also, at this point, we know WM has some trouble with the blitz pickups etc....do we know Turner will be any better? WM has proven to be a very good back. Why do most Bills fans seem to need to have the best RB in the league? I don't get that mentality at all. ...& yes....I totally agree, bashing the 150 yard performer is minimally badly timed. Mind you, he's bound to have a sub 50yard game this season or perhaps a game where he fumbles.....I'm dreading the response that week.
  15. I'm glad you're not our GM Frez. You are honestly saying you'd rather a 5th round guy who has had 100 NFL carries over WM? Your talent assessments are that shrewd that from 1 highlight video you have determined that the best back in the league is a backup. Honestly Frez, I thought you were more level headed than this.
  16. Honestly, that was 1 play. Not several. Just the one. It was a killer 47 yarder but only happened once.(one was called back with penalty) They only got 4 third down conversions all day(out of 12). 2 on that drive(first was to coles for 12 yards.)
  17. Honestly, everyone is going on about JP, Willis' block(lack of), WRs, lack of turnovers & pressure by the D, Clemments, etc, etc.....IMO the team played very, very well & if the coaches had not dropped the ball multiple times, we would easily have had a win. Like you, I am not asking for their heads but they should take the major responsibility for the loss.
  18. When are you refering to? We were 1st & goal on the 6 & he got 4.
  19. But Willis was never asked to attempt a 3rd & 1 yesterday. His short yardage attempts are as follows.... 2nd & 5....6 yard gain 2nd & 4....13 yard gain 2nd & 1....6 yard gain 2nd & 5....5 yard gain 2nd & 4....2 yard gain 2nd & 2....1 yard gain In fact he was not asked to run on 3rd down at all except for one attempt at 3rd & 11(he got 6). He missed a block(or two) but I cannot see how you can criticize his rushing performance. Had the coaches used him more he could easily have gotten 200. If you don't think he is "top-tier"....who cares? He certainly performs at a level that is good enough to win so what does it matter where he ranks? BTW....103 yards/game this season so far...2nd in the NFL. I'm not saying he is the best....just certainly good enough.
  20. Just you I think....A.Thomas only had 1 attempt. Willis was there for the rest of the game. Week 1 when Thomas got the TD, WM had a legit ankle problem. When he is in all game, people complain the opposite. His lack of TDs is surely as much or more to do with coaching/play-calling as him.
  21. You have made the point in several threads & now devoted this thread to the concept that nobody had made up their minds that JP is not going to make it....that nobody has said JP sux.....that the vitriole spewed about JP today was the equivelant to "I don't think JP was the best QB in the league..." You make out that people reacting to such negativity are over-reacting. What time did you start reading the threads? Im normally an optomist...but... Who sucks more...., Gandy or JP? Qb situation.............This one is a classic...it says JP=RJ And look at poster #4 implying agreeance....wait a second, that's you Blufire. . What's your point again???
  22. Perhaps I came across too strong....I meant that the Jets D knew that we were in 'miracle' time & JPs drive was not going to be a game winner(a miracle following was the only way we could win). That's why I said I didn't want to take anything away from JP...it was a top effort...it is just a bit erroneous to claim it as an awesome 'need' drive. The following drive was that.
  23. Hang on a sec.... He threw the ball 38 times, sacked 3 & ran 3.... that's 44 passing attempts(equivelent). He did that in rain & gusty winds.....with obvious mistakes from some around him....and he still threw for over 300yards.....threw a TD & rushed for a TD. How many bad decisions did he make?....& how many mistakes is he allowed to make(on average)? It was still only his 11th start. What is it you expect from him at this point? He was only a play or two away from having a 'very good' day.
  24. OMG NO!!!!!! Rypien was the prototypical 'as good as your OL' type QB. I understand what you mean though....comparing his maturing process rather than his playing ability....at least I hope that's what you are doing. If JP ends up as a new Rypien, he'll probably lose my support. Go JP!! Go Bills!!
  25. I don't want to discredit this argument since I believe JP showed a lot of improvements today & looks like(fingers crossed) he could develop the consistency needed to be 'very good'. However, that TD drive realistically was in Junk time. I'm not taking it away from him but I don't feel we can use it as a full indicator of a clutch 77yard TD drive. Just as we ignored Culpeppers late drive last week, we should take JPs with perhaps a bit more realism. Go JP!! Go Bills!!
