  1. Maybe not that exact question(re: Denney) but I think they will certainly be worried about our pass rush abilities. We are 5th in the league with 11 sacks in 3 games. Sure, the pass rush was a bit anemic last week but Johnson is not know to have anywhere near the quick pass play as Penny does. Looking at the season(3 games) as a whole, you'd have to say the new D scheme is certainly getting the most out of our DL......I guess we'll find out soon wont we.
  2. Surely you understood what BillsYoung1127 was meaning by his post. We have had pretty much control of all three games this year. There is a vast difference between a team that gets obliterated in a loss and a team that coulda/shoulda/woulda won the game if not for a few things. It means that we are still not good enough.....but it also means that we are a lot better than the Bills team that finished last season.
  3. Obviously "Experts Choice" Magazine has no idea at all with their rankings so simply don't buy it next year. Perhaps you should always skim through a mag searching for any glaring errors before you buy it.....I'm sure most of them are written by guys like us. Fletcher #23 ILB Clements #3 CB
  4. Oh, well....I guess we should just get one then. They're a dime a dozen aren't they?
  5. No, no, no....no implications on you intended at all....I was just having a joke. My point was obviously directed towards the church(any denomination will do). The NFL has to be in cahoots with the big guy upstairs....how else do you explain such obvious 'bad luck' for us. It makes perfect sense when you think about it....
  6. I didn't realize the 'NFL is rigged' conspiracy theory went all the way to the top. It starts pouring with rain just as we start our final come from behind drive??? Very hard to believe.
  7. Not a huge accusation but....You stated that the Bills should evaluate the talent not the draft position as if that was perhaps not what they did...even stating "The Bills should ignore the fact that Losman was a first round pick, and Nall a second-tier free agent."....why would you say this if you did not think that perhaps it was quite possible that they did the opposite. To even imply that Marv & DJ would chose a QB they did not view as being the best option for the team is quite a statement to make. The only reasonable reason to ever 'guarantee' a position to a lesser player over a greater player would be due to salary-cap constraints. Since we had/have no such problems, it is ridiculous to contemplate the concept. Yes, if Nall shines in practice(as Brady apparently did before DB got injured at NE), Nall might just usurp JP...& if the result ended being similar to Brady we'd all be happy. Why raise the concept repeatedly though? Obviously we have not heard how 'magic' he is looking in practice. He has not even usurped KH for the #2 job. You do seem very fixated on the concept of Nall becoming the starter. You agreed that Marv & DJ have basically done the only thing they could have in regards to the QB situation. Why keep raising the concept over & over? Is there more to this topic than I can see? Even if you get everybody to agree that Nall has great potential....it won't change anything. JP is the man(for now). At the risk of sounding blunt......live with it.
  8. What makes you think that this isn't the case? That that is not exactly what they did?I totally agree with the statement but I think perhaps this concept is where you are going majorly wrong. Managements job is primarily to win games both for now & into the future....with the Superbowl in mind as ultimate goal. I cannot prove that they are ignoring draft position in this case just as you cannot prove they aren't but considering JP was the pick of a previous management(& coach), the concept does not hold much water that they are doing that in this case. Obviously they will have picked who they feel is the best. It does not matter one bit if you(or I) are sure or not. I would say that at this point that Marv & DJ are sure & that is what counts. Read Marv's book(esp. the KC years) & you'll see that what you are accusing him of is really quite out of character for him. I don't think that many have written Nall off at this point....honestly, who knows? What most have done is assumed that JP has the better potential at QB of the two. That doesn't mean that Nall is no good or that he won't end up being the better pro....what it means is that JP has been assessed by most to have the greater potential at this time. It's really quite simple. Look at this last paragraph. If you're assessment is wrong, doing what you ask could be very detrimental to JPs progression & the team (harmony/unity/progression) as well. There is no reason at this time to doubt Marv & DJs decision. We are seeing vast improvement (mentally) by JP & until he shows himself to be a lost cause or that he cannot get any better, it would be wrong to start Nall just to 'see what he can do'.It may be very, very sad if in fact he could become the better QB but GMs & coaches do not put in a backup over a starter unless the backup has won the starters job.....sorry, my mistake, MM did it with JP & look how that turns out.
  9. I'm glad JDG goaded you into that post Kelly....they are the sort of posts that make drudging through the tedium worth while. Unlike most of you, I virtually never get to see us play. I listen on the radio, I watch the highlight shows, I devour stats & media opinion but until we are considered Sunday/Monday night worthy I won't get to see entire drives, let alone games. Thank you for spelling out your 'fair & balanced' opinion of what you see in JP. I don't recall seeing anywhere such an elaborate assessment of him since perhaps he was drafted....not even then. We can only hope that he keeps improving & realizes some of that tremendous upside. Thanks again Kelly & thanks JDG for inspiring him.
  10. Pro Football Weekly don't have him in the top 10 either(he dropped out this week) They do however have Keith Ellison as #9. LINK
  11. VIVE...you might be having fun with your occasional posts but the lack of honesty(even if humorously based) is perturbing. I live in Australia where we also use the metric system. There is no way that myself nor any of my many friends who follow American football would ever....absolutely never, describe the yardage gained(or any derivative) as meters. It is inconceivable that if you follow football at all that meters could slip into your sentence unless you are trying to come across as something that you are not. Why not just put forward a topic without the pretentious BS?
  12. So...umm...who's the lucky guy gonna be to make up the threesome?
  13. Stamer = Lurch OMG LMFAO That thread is really really good. Defensive Coach Chuck Lester = Ned Flanders It's nice to see so many Bills fans giving them a pat on the back. Ahahaha....Moorman = Skeletor That thread is great.
  14. I know....that's why when I heard it was the case it stuck in my mind...."how stupid" I thought. It was probably just some stupid comentator getting it wrong & me(new to the sport at the time probably) taking it in as fact.
  15. Thinking.....thinking....thinking.... 3 years.....compared to 1/2 a year......same stats......got it!!!!! Losman is going to be 6 times better than Kelly!!! that means he will lose....umm....6x4 is ummm.... That means Losman is going to lose 24 superbowls in a row.
  16. From the sounds of the article I am wrong but.....I could have sworn there was an actual rule already in existence which basically said that if the home crowd overly effects the game(including by noise) then it's a 5 yard penalty to the visiting team....repeat down. Obviously this rule(assuming I'm correct & it exists) is never enforced. Does anyone know if my recollection has any basis in reality or whether I dreamed it a decade ago & thought it was real?
  17. I'm with you on the 'sacks should be used in the QBR' thing. It's a major aspect which often reflects QB ability but is often ignored. One thing I just came across was C.Palmers stats so far this year. 4 INTs, 11 sacks, 2 fumbles(1 lost). I think it goes to show that winning & TDs allow a lot of things to go ignored. Hopefully in the future JP will be good enough for the majority to ignore the mistakes. *please everyone, I'm not saying JP=CP & I'm not saying CP sux*
  18. Re: the fumbling thing....time will tell won't it. Re: pass plays at the end of a tight game.....he did last week. 3rd last drive...score NYJ 21 BUF 10....14:04 remaining JPL 3 of 3 for 41yards(1 sack on the tricky play)...result...fieldgoal. 2nd last drive...score NYJ 28 BUF 13....3:12 remaining JPL 3 of 6 for 46yards(1 sack, 2 1st down scrambles...1 for a TD)...result...TD Last Drive....pooring rain & just aweful. Honestly, if you were not impressed with him on the first 2 drives mentioned, you are a hard one to please.
  19. To perhaps put that into some perspective. 8 sacks is about league average at the moment(just over). 8 sacks is equal 18th....7 is equal 16th which is middle of the pack. With a learning QB & newly gelling OL I'd expects a sack or two more at this stage. His 3 fumbles...2 lost. Overall he has given away 3 turnovers. There are 16 QBs so far who have turned the ball over at least 3 times. 6 QBs have lost 2 fumbles or more... 15 QBs have thrown for 3 or more INTs. Personally I don't think his 'bad' statistics are anything to be overly worried about at this point....I expect him to be a bit worse than the average due to his experience and am pleased that he is performing within the average regarding 'mistake plays'.
  20. I don't understand why so many here give HA such a hard time. He seems to be one of the only...how shall I word this....hmmm...contentious posters here who when the time is taken to show him where he is wrong, he tends to accept it....& with good humour. Sure he has a one track mind on certain issues.....but so too do many others here who don't get abused in any way what-so-ever. It seems to me that some have gotten into the habit of ridiculing HA because in some way it is OK now. I don't recall seeing HA being disrespectful to others.....why are so many disrespectful to him?
  21. Uh-huh, I'm afraid it is. You're talking about a conscious decision on his part. It might be different if he had a stellar year last year and we were near the end of this season but as it stands it would be absolutely ludicrous to think NC is there thinking..."If I can just coast through this year I'll see my $7mil/year deal." If he is thinking anything along those lines, then he is the moron. I would think that if he is tentative, it would be for any other reason apart from 'saving his body'. More likely that he knows he needs a good year this year(BIG contract year) & he is over-thinking his play rather than simply playing.
  22. For those still wanting to talk playoffs, those 4 guaranteed losses are not in fact guarenteed. If we are good enough for playoffs, we'll be good enough to beat 2(or more) of those four.
  23. A hundred-dollar? Hell, I'd do it for free. Theismann is like a steering wheel hanging out of your fly.... He drives your nuts.
