I assuming here(hopefully not making myself an ass) but.... If they play a similar D to us, they like to rotate their D-Linemen a lot...with two out, that assumedly(there's that word again) will effect them later in the game. Very good for us.

Ogunleye & Ian Scott are out. I'm liking the matchup a bit better now.

You're just trying to start an arguement now aren't you? -

Me too.

Sorry....when I read the thread all the way back it is quite obvious.

Ummm...isn't hockey marginalized to the cold weather areas of the US? I know it's pretty big up north but isn't is virtually ignored by half the country(south)? I know that it's the little brother to the other three biggies...Football, Baseball, Basketball. I would think that 'every kid' is a humongous exaggeration....or at least a lot of wishful thinking on your part.

What if the Bills do beat the Bears??
Dibs replied to BoondckCL's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Don't be such a hypocrite Dennis.... In another thread you were happy to state how rediculous it was that Alexander(league MVP) was not worth the 31 points difference in your win over the Seahawks. Now you are saying that Mike Brown (1 pro-bowl) is worth the 26 points difference in the Panthers scoring. -
I'm not a big soccer fan but surely this is easily the most coveted trophy in sports. World Cup Trophy

Honest? Please insert the word 'logical' or 'knowledgeable' instead of the word 'honest' & you'll end up with a statement that would 'honestly' sound as if it is dripping with sarcasm. How much are we going to miss him? How much do we miss him? There is a huge difference between 'making plays'....& a 'play-maker'. Crowell has been making plays.....TKO is a play-maker.

If you have a look at the play-by-play of each Bears game you will notice that your statement of..."they don't give up on the run" is not really on the money. For the most of it(3 out of 4 games) the Bears have racked up a good lead in their games. They have done this by predominantly passing. In the second halves(usually late 3rd) they go to the run-run-run mode(with occasional pass). They end up with roughly 50-50 run-pass ratio but their main game-plan is to pass. The Vikings game was a good example of this. The Vikes shut down Grossman....therefore when they got to the second half they did not have a great lead(like the other 3 games). Therefore they continued to play as they had been....i.e. lots of passing. That game ended with Grossman attempting 41 throws, 3 rushes & 1 sack compared to 18 rushes by the running backs. To me, this game clearly hinges on our secondary & pass rush. If we stop the Bears from passing effectively we will win. Their running game has been ineffectual except for grinding out the clock or the occasional spurt. You say we have shown a weakness against the run....this is true. What also is true is that we have improved in our run D each week....which is to be expected since we have a new D scheme & 2 DT rookies playing major roles. Our last two run D performances(NYJ & MIN) have been... 40-137-3.4ypa Bears last two run D performances(MIN & SEA) have been... 43-174-4.0ypa Does all of this mean we are going to win.....I've got no idea....I hope we win....we'll probably lose but....it is certainly no certainty. My point is that people are definitely over-rating the Bears & strangely enough under-rating the Bills. GO BILLS!!

It's funny...or perhaps sad that had you written this last week you would have been aggressively argued with on this board. Last week around here WM was a mediocre RB who had no heart & couldn't block.....this week he is obviously a RB who has rushed well under the circumstances he finds himself. Oh what a difference a week makes. -

Why is everyone kissing Chicago's butt?
Dibs replied to daquixers_is_back's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Actually he has a QB rating of 100.8 Losman [*]Minnesota: 23 of 32 (71.9%) for 222 yds, 1 TD, 0 INTs, Passer rating = 101.3 Just comparing some Granny Smiths with your Pink Lady -

I don't know about previous years since this is my first season here but.... You are totally wrong so far this season....with this team. We have won 50% of our games & the other two, people came away saying "Oh, we should have won those! ". I don't know what prompted your post(maybe an errant memory) but nothing so far this season points to what you said as being valid. -
Two years??? I'm thinking next year at worst.....hopefully in 4-6 games. Am I wrong to be getting so enthused with our team? JP improves each week....& on the quiet....looks like he may become a 'special' QB. WM with his performance last week totally shut up every single critic on this board. He is in most top 10 MVP lists at this point.(if not all) Peters is being linked with the word elite. Evans seems to have figured out the #1 job. The OL is certainly at least playing 'average' and improving all the time. Reed is clutch. PP is also clutch & has the speed. RP is starting to be talked about on a national level. Spikes(upon return) looks like a monster. Fletcher is all-pro Crowell looks like mini-Spikes(in a good way) Denney is showing he is a real player. Schobel is Schobel. Our DL is starting to firm against the run. Our secondary it top notch. Whitner is Defensive rookie of the month. Special teams(though down a notch) is still league best. With a bit more consistency & focus...... We may crash back to earth in the next few weeks but if the improvements keep coming this week...(say we connect on one or two of the deep balls)....I cannot see why we can't take it right up to the Bears.

Give it a rest....you imply he is doing something other than his utmost to come back. Also, who said 2-3 weeks???? Where did that spring from?

Inordinate amount of heat? Really? Where from? I might be right off base hear since I don't get the level of media coverage that you guys do but......who talks about TD now apart from Mort? Most GMs are not mentioned when they have GM jobs, how does TD remain in any way relevant to the national media? If we get to the playoffs it might be relevant to mention him....might....but without agenda, TD simply should be sooooo far down the list of things to talk about on the national media that he would never be raised. Hell, we can't even get the media to talk about JP or WM for more than 10 seconds. Mort has successfully changed the ground-rules to enable TDs name back into the lime-light. It does not matter what his arguments end up being, the discussion should not really be taking place. If he wants to defend his 'friend' from Bills fans, he should come onto the Bills media(or forums) to do it, not use his position at ESPN to do so when it is not warranted. I see no 'media' guy sticking up for DJ in relation to the heat he takes from the Bears fans. ......& Kelly, Mort was not 'very fair'. He is biased in his assessments & his actions in recent past....re:Marv etc.(see TDRupps post #12). He made some very good points which were on the money(IMO) but he does not act in a fair manner in regards to TD.....sort of the opposite to a lot of posters here.

Excellent point! This shows obvious agenda to Morts comments.

My Bills Grades at the Quarter Pole: Offense
Dibs replied to Rubes's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Great post Rubes. What's all the quibbling with the B-/C+ thing? I was always under the impression that they were basically the same thing. IMO....assuming your B- or C+ is correct....you picked the right one with B-. The offence has been improving, therefore B- fits. If the offence was regressing, C+ would suit better.....i.e. using the difference between a B- & a C+ as a trend indicator rather than an ability difference. -
Thanks a heap.....so it was your fault CV got injured.

I've seeen every Chicago game............
Dibs replied to ChicagoRic's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm not saying you are wrong but..... Victories over GB & DET.....hmmm A win over MIN which they coulda(shoulda?) lost. A win over a reeling Alexanderless SEA. They might be as good as they look....then again, they might look a little better than they actually are. We can beat em....if we play tight(no penalties) & smart(good play-calling). GO BILLS!!! -
Looks to be but....Jets run D is pretty loose.

I'd run it.
