  1. It has been for us....37.5% on 4th downs. I think that since the decision is quite a debatable point means that either way....going for it....or not....is(would have been) an OK decision. I'm just grateful that the decision made came off.
  2. You need a...."1st year back from serious injury so it's too early to tell" option.
  3. You are not wrong(generally) with that observation. Logically though, when you think about it, it should be the other way around. A #1 pick will usually be closer to an NFL caliber QB than a late 1st rounder.....therefore you'd expect the late 1st rounder to take longer to develop than the #1.....therefore the late 1st rounder should be given more time to develop than the #1. The fact that it happens the other way around does not change the logic that it shouldn't.
  4. But it makes sense the other way around. What do good teams seem to have....more so than not-so-good teams? Lots of good players(stars). To keep all those stars they need to pay top dollar.....which maxes out their cap. If teams simply spent to their cap limit "because it was there" rather than "because they wanted to keep their stars" when they finally found some legit stars they would be unable to pay them. Chicken or egg? Not really....top teams pay their top players that make them top teams in the first place.
  5. I think in general after NCs performance today(& of the last few weeks), you will get far less resistance with your.....um.....crusade(?).......to get people on side to re-sign him. I agree with what somebody said earlier.....it will probably all come down to whether NC wants to be re-signed by us.
  6. JPs performance was not exactly exraordinary...it was for him & us....but not as a league wide performance. Evans on the other hand had the best day for a Bills WR EVER & the best day for a WR league wide ALL YEAR. Evans should have been on the list.
  7. But you totally agree with me. You consider NC a 'star' player & therefore(according to what I said re:'star' players) we should pay him. I said I don't have any problem paying a star player top dollars. I even said that I considered him(NC) playing at 'star' level myself......though I did try to keep him(as a specific case) out of the conceptual point.
  8. I was going to vote for Deluca....but then I remembered what Deluca said after the game. You're right.....very tough choice this week.
  9. Maybe if the 49ers get Davis back to health we can trade for E.Johnson. He can catch & is certianly a luxury the 49ers can't afford to keep in the future if Davis pans out.
  10. I'm Still Happy Happy Happy HAPPY!!!!!
  11. Yep, because we are going to make some adjustments. Seemed to work for the O today.
  12. Really? I prefer them small(ish) & firm.....but....each to their own.
  13. $4.57mil cap hit this year. His run stopping ability aside, Schobels 'garbage time' sack tag is the equivalent to a Bills urban myth. A while back I looked through games & stats of Schobel & other high number sack DEs & he was no different(in fact better) at when & where he gets his sacks in relation to his peers. "I reckon" doesn't cut it when you besmirch someone who has consistently produced. Either show some evidence(legitimate & unbiased).......or stick to "Schobel can't stop the run".
  14. Why? Where is the logic in doing that? I went through the scenario earlier(post 27) of what happens when you over-pay players & start getting good enough to compete. What is your reasoning that it is OK to over-pay players that are 'good' but not 'great'?
  15. It is bad capenomics to pay a 'good' player 'star' money. It's not a difficult concept to grasp. If player 'A' is a 'star' player, it is good to pay him 'star' money.....if he is only a 'good' player, it's bad to pay him 'star' money. I don't see why you had a problem with this concept.....I even finished with.....& on purpose so you wouldn't take it the wrong way & assume I meant that NC was not playing like a star......
  16. I didn't say otherwise. NC really had a poor year last year. I would have been very upset if we signed him to a long term contract when he was 'at the crossroads' so to speak. His marked improvement means that he is elevating into value for the HUGE money. As I said, I don't have a problem paying.....just a problem over-paying What you don't really seem to understand is that there is a salary cap. That means if you over-pay a few players by a lot.....& then you build your team to be good.....you lose some of your 'really' good players because your 'quite' good players are getting their money. Each team can only afford to pay so many stars. It is bad capenomics to pay a 'good' player 'star' money. Hopefully, NC keeps up his 'star' play & this won't be an issue.
  17. NO. Only the select few are deemed worthy enough to debate such an important issue. Alas, I am not one of the selected few but I follow the debate with bated breath & palpitating heart on every post read. Perhaps after a few more years of following from the sidelines, I too might be elevated into the discussions concerning the Bills QB. *sigh* I live in hope.
  18. You know, you can just link your thread with that post rather than cut & paste it into every other thread. Just a thought.
  19. But we are(were) the 3-6 Bills. Does that mean that good performances against us are worthless too?
  20. It looks like NC is working his way to the big contract.....i.e. his level of play is getting back towards where it was a few years back. This is a good thing....a very good thing. My only problem with re-signing NC was over-paying him. If he produces at probowl level regularly then I don't mind us paying him exactly what he would be worth. The only reservation I have is Youboty. If he can show something special in the next 6 I think NC will be gone.....simple capanomics......not likely to happen though.....but possible.
  21. Actually up to 85.07....but who's counting.
  22. OMG OMMFG 510yards WOW....pitty they lost though. 510 yards......amazing.
  23. 265......two......sixty.....five..... Is Evans going to be any good or what???
  24. It happens to the best of em.....2 weeks ago Brady throws for 4 ints....it seems like unless JP has an absolute perfect game he is no good. All things considered we should be expecting more mistakes than average....not less.
