Ready for all the "We should have drafted Cutler!"

A Few Thoughts About The Game....
Dibs replied to Bill from NYC's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
And all over backs up Bill's point that...."the DE position is the most solid on the football team". Add Hargrove to the mix &......it's not exactly an area of need. -
Another junk sack for Schobel

Crowell....lower leg strain.....out for the rest of the game.

*sigh* Ramius said....."Most teams usually have their starters in there for the first drive, no?" You responded...."No!!! That is not correct".... and proceeded to show the lineups.....which clearly showed that the starters were in at the start of that preseason game. For some reason Adams was not in....I do not know why but that is irrelevant since he could have been out for a multitude of reasons. Your point was not that the starting lineups were not exactly the same.....your point was that 'the backups' were in making it easy for WM to do something he has never/could never do in a regular season game. Cincy played the best starters they had at the start of that preseason game. Your example proved your opposition correct & you incorrect. It showed you to be a fool.....which you confirmed by trying to weasel out of your initial premise by diverting the argument on a matter a semantics. Simply put..... YOU ARE WRONG in saying Ramius was incorrect. I'm praying that you have the cognitive capacity to follow this straight forward post, realize that you have placed your foot fully into your mouth and then STFU about it.....but I'm not holding my breath.

It seems to me that most forget about this concept. Everyone is either...."We must re-sign NC"...or...."If NC goes, we must draft CB high next year(again)" There will be a few good CBs on the market....is it not reasonable to assume we will be targeting one of them if NC cannot be signed?
-
You are an absolute idiot. The only starter that was not playing was S. Adams(don't know why he missed....probably wasn't the starter at that point). How could you go to so much trouble as to get the starting line-ups to show how different they are when they are in fact.....THE SAME!!!!

How the hell are the huge fat barstards going to fit into an 18" square?

Good question....I've never thought about that before. The Cerebus character you are referring to was the Dark Roach(as in cockroach). I guess the Tick physically could have been inspired by it.....being a big fan of the Tick I would guess the only real similarity is that they are both paradoxical characters. The Tick is more of a superman(invulnerable) type whereas the Dark Roach was a direct parody of Batman. Have you read the original 12 issues of Ben Edlunds Tick? Absolutely brilliant.... It seems my top 10 is pretty much everyone else's. The Tick Cerebus BM:TDKR The Crow Sandman Watchmen Hellblazer(selected) I know there is only 7 listed but I like to leave room for the future. Gosh darn it, I wasn't going to nerd up here anymore..... (don't ya love the new smilies?)

Just because I was bored in my lunch break. Up to today..... Possition drafted....name......catches....yards....TDs...(pro bowls) #19....Marvin Harrison..............988-13152-115...(7) #1......Keyshawn Johnson.........797-10365-63.....(3) #89....Terrell Owens.................777-11366-109...(5) #24....Eric Moulds....................724-9606-49.......(3) #43....Muhsin Muhammad.........688-9133-52.......(2) #135..Joe Horn.........................575-8483-57......(4) #7......Terry Glenn...................569-8399-44.......(1) #34....Amani Toomer................561-8157-47 #18....Eddie Kennison...............514-7921-39 #52....Bobby Engram................498-5962-29 #153..Jermaine Lewis...............142-2125-17.......(2) Anyone know of a better WR year?

Really? That's weird.

Best pure WRs in the game C.Johnson, A.Johnson, L.Evans, S.Smith, A.Boldin, T.Holt, T.Owens, L.Fitzgerald, M.Harrison, R.Wayne, R.Williams....do I keep going? Chambers believes however he is a legit #1 WR.....there is no way he comes here & plays 2nd fiddle to Evans without causing problems. Apart from that, he has proven that he is inconsistent. If he is that good why does Welker have 53-554 & Chambers only have 44-490? Many, many WRs play in terrible offences with bad QBs.....the great ones shine through regardless. Look at Boldin from the Cards....absolutely awful offences & he consistently produces big numbers. Evans did the same......as did C.Johnson. He's not even that big.....5'11" 210lbs He is IMO a very good #2......& that is what he will be if he comes here. Just because somebody can sometimes look like a star does not mean they are star material.

Used to.... how'd you let em go? I've been after the first 20 or so for some years now.....hard to find & I probably wont be able to justify the cost if I do find the early ones. They're worth heaps. BM:TDKR would be awesome as a movie......difficult to get green lit though due to Batman & Superman both being needed(along with Green Arrow....my personal favourite). **Daredevil movie is my guilty pleasure.....I don't know why exactly.....I just like it. ** OK....enough geeky nerdiness for 1 year...<spits on the floor>.....back to manly football.

It's the same principle though. If you don't like how 'rude' people are inconsiderate in movie cinemas, you should reevaluate your actions at a ball game. Your actions are obviously inconsiderate to those around you & you CANNOT justify it by saying "I paid for my ticket so I can do whatever I like." Others paid for their tickets & deserve to see the game they paid good money to see.

852358[/snapback] When you go to the movies do you like some idiot talking near you? Or having his phone ring & then has a conversation? Tapping his foot on the back of your seat? Perhaps somebody stands in a movie because they want to stretch their legs? Just because you paid the same amount as everyone else does not entitle you to act in a manner that hinders the experience of others. What would your response have been if somebody politely asked you to sit because you were causing him/his wife/mother/child/grandfather etc to miss a lot of the play? "I don't care what you think, I paid the same amount as you so I'm standing!" It's people like you what cause unrest.

Absolute torture.

I don't know....it did say "So here's a look at some of the free agents who figure to have a realistic chance of being available, and who are likely to attract attention, starting with the best:" but it might just have meant the first few.....another FA on the list that piqued my interest is WR Kevin Curtis from the Rams....I doubt they will afford him & he showed last season when Bruce & Holt were out that he can be a top #2 WR.
-
I saw recently in an article that Kris Dielman OG for SD is not only very good but is a FA next year. The article even puts him ahead of Steinbach. I'd be interested in the boards OL experts opinions on him.....the more good OG FAs next off-season the better. Our OL may be playing better but we still don't seem to get any push up the middle(3rd & 1 is becoming scary) Enquiring minds want to know.

The first lot are smaller soft cover GNs(smaller than the original comic book size)....printed in that format a little before the movie came out....they are the ones I was referring to with Nancy on the spines. The one that came with the DVD is the same sort, but a little smaller again. The big black ones are 2 slipcases containing 7 trades....4 in the first, 3 in the second.....these are HC & larger than the original comic book size(which really shows off the artistic panels). They are basically the deluxe versions. There were also soft cover trades available(not any more though) in a normal comic book size(pre-movie).....and of course the original comic books(available as collectable back issues). If money is not a huge factor, I highly recommend the HC version. ***Gee, can you tell that I worked in a comic book store one day a week for 16.5 years?***

How come you use Aussie Vegemite for your avatar? Are you an ex-pat? I understand Vegemite can no longer be imported into the US......some weird content rule.....apparently spreads can only be imported if they are edible.....go figure. Speaking of great comic books adaptations......Watchmen is finally moving again. If they don't use Buscemi for Rorschach I'll be amazed....perfect casting IMO.

I'll probably come across a little as 'comic book geek' here but........yeah, Sin City is an awesome adaptation(re-creation). It was visually....& pretty much panel for panel.....recreated on the bigger canvas of the silver screen. Writer/artist Frank Miller was co-director which only added to the adaptation. They literally got the look of each panel in the comics & tried to have the movie look exactly the same.....to the point of scenes with angled walls & sparse open empty rooms. I actually felt the dialog should have been altered more for the big screen......words on a page can seem more 'real' than when actually heard. I tend not to be overly interested in the artwork of a comic book(though I appreciate good art & I like a minimum standard) but Sin City is one of the few comics(IMO) where the artwork is actually artistic. Many of the panels would make excellent posters/wall hangings. It is literally the only comic I have ever bought mainly for the artwork(story is cool too though). The order of graphic novels goes..... The Hard Goodbye A Dame to Kill for The Big Fat Kill That Yellow Bastard Family Values Booze, Broads and Bullets Hell & Back ***You'll find the spines of the books align to show a picture of Nancy(the stripper)....It's an easy way to figure which one comes first/next/etc.*** I highly recommend getting the 1st one 'The Hard Goodbye'. It was the story used in the movie about Marv(Mickey Rourke) & was IMO by far the most entertaining of all the Sin City stuff......though the others are very good also. There was a special edition DVD which contained a copy of the 1st Graphic Novel....lovely product.....great way to enjoy both mediums(plus it enables you to physically compare the panels of the comic to the movie). Well.......I've rambled on enough & have probably removed all doubts about my geekiness. Oh well.
