WOOHOO!!!
-
He added a smiley.....tongue in cheek.

We'll never afford him now. Go Nate!!!!

Again I say that last off-season there was a determination that they will over-rule ONLY if there is no doubt. "Looks like enough evidence" is not beyond doubt.
-
This year.....to over-turn the ref has to have absolutely no doubts.....if you think "there was a decent shot".....that means there was some doubt....that means there would very doubtfully be an over-rule.
-
Was it that obvious? Was there no doubt it would be over-turned?

Great stop D.
-
Same as he did after his long run in the pre-season.....what's up with that?
-
but, but, but.....I forgot.

Let's ride the A Train....he's much better. Go Willis!!!

Well put PG. Am I imagining or is your typing better than it was.

Contract extensions often free up space under the cap.

Settle petal......your initial post(& subsequent posts) lumps a whole lot of worry on JP & how he is performing. 3 weeks ago the coaching staff decided to finally allow JP some leeway in what he could do & give him more opportunity to win/lose games. Since then he has....well....look back to my first response. Even if you want to discount his first efforts against HOU, his next two games showed many things to feel positive about. Do you realize that averaging 250 yards a game gets you 4000 yards in a season? Last year only 2 QBs achieved this. Averaging 200 yards a game gets you 3200 yards in a season. Last year only 12 QBs(including the two 4000ers) achieved this. What you are expecting is not only unreasonable......but is being achieved since we cut JP lose 3 weeks ago.....& he is young....& the offence has no run game.....& we have no blah, blah, blah. Now is the time where you are supposed to be a reasonable person.....look at every ones responses to your initial post.....and realize you were over-reacting.

I don't see the problem.....lots of people seem to find it interesting so let them talk about who they think is going to be good in the draft & who we might get, etc, etc, etc. I don't want a pinned thread about it myself since there are a myriad of different aspect to it & I don't want to have to read all of them....just the ones that I find interesting.

Speaking of Rivers.....maybe JP should be more like him. 222, 133, 160 in his last 3....golly, the Chargers fans must be saying "We need Rivers to step it up.....he is only averaging 172ypg over the last 3....147 over the last 2....that's just not good enough." Speaking of decent QBs over the last three weeks... McNair 236, 140, 227 Hasslebeck 157, 168 Big Ben 214, 198, 225 What was the initial point to the thread again? It's not me is it....this argument is silly isn't it?

That is not correct....of recent years the top OL prospects have had bad results but hystorically there has been quite a good success rate with the OT drated high in the first.....& OGs & Cs in the first period. High in the first seems to be virtually the only way one can get a HOF type OT(though I've got my fingers crossed with Peters).

Since 'opening up' the offence against Houston 3 weeks ago.... JP has averaged......231yds/game....6.7yds/att....85.1QBR....1.7sacks....& has had 2 victories, both come from behind. Our Offence has averaged 21.7points/game....291yards/game If anything, it is our running game that is letting us down.....averaging 68yards at 3yards/att. What games have you been watching? This post was much more appropriate about a month ago.

Sounds like an awesome trip. Lunch with Evans....care to elaborate a little on that....sounds great. I hope to make the journey there one day myself....when I'm a bit older(read more financially secure). Pity about point #2....... I'm sincerely jealous.

That's exactly right....the list was a list of the 'good' or 'great' QBs in the league. Your point was that JP is well below 'average' & won't be 'average' for another two years. My point is..... There are only around 12 good or better QBs in the league. JP is in the 'average' catagory now.....& improving. Like it or not, JP is getting the job done as well or better than around 19 of the other 31 QBs in the league. He has a decent QBR. He has 2 come from behind victories He has a 5-7 record as a starter......there are only 13 teams 2 games or more ahead of us.....not surprisingly, 10 of those QBs who are 'good' or better have teams in that 13. I am not saying JP will progress to the 'good' catagory. I am saying you are definitely wrong to view him as below average. The average is quite low in the NFL at the moment & JP fits right into the middle of it. -
I thought similar so I looked through the play-by-play of the SD game. Ug....it was obvious we don't run to the right....mind you one of the biggest gains, 7 yards, was to the right. The runs were as follows in that game.... L, L, L, L, L, R, L, M, L, M, M, L, L, L, L, L, L, L To me this feels like when the coaches forced JP to stay put it the pocket in order to learn. I guess the philosophy is force the player to learn 1 aspect of the game before allowing them to do more.....in this case.....Pennington is learning pass-protection & when he progresses to competent, let him learn to run block then. Either that or he simply can't get the job done.

Is the Cover 2 the best way to a Superbowl?
Dibs replied to Dan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That's seems to be the instant mantra around here but I just don't buy it(though it may be the case). We rotate our DTs constantly therefore needing 4 solid DTs. We have Tripplett....who seems to be coming on strong in the last 4 games or so. We have Williams....who seems to be showing he can be the solid #2 guy & hopefully will be better with another year of adding some bulk & experience. We have McCargo....who was 1st round talent who got injured. We simply cannot discard him, therefore cannot look to replace him until he shows things one way or the other. That leaves Anderson.....who should be replaced. That means 1 replacement will be needed in the off-season....with maybe some practice squad 'potential' added. That 1 replacement has to be a top player mind you but I cannot fathom us getting 2 top replacements next year at the DT position.
