I totally disagree that it is essential. It is obviously preferred....but it is a bit insulting to say..... "OK, you listened to the game, you read every review you could, you analysed the play-by-play, you read every persons opinion & you saw the important plays on replay....but.....your opinion that JP did well in the game is not valid because you didn't see the game." I think perhaps you are talking about specific areas of analysis yet referring to all areas. There are certain elements of the game that I simply(wisely) chose to have no opinion on because I have not seen the game & there is no obvious consensus amongst all other analysts. There are other areas where relying on only seeing the game can actually result in opinion that is erroneous....i.e. that Schobel pads his sacks(more than his peers) in junk time. Many people have come to this conclusion...probably based on how he comes across in the games. The stats show however that he is no better/worse than his peers in this regard. I formulated my opinion on Schobel based solely on statistical analysis. When I've seen him in games I have had no opinion either way in this regard. Opinions should be viewed as valid/not valid based on the reasonings behind the opinion. If someone didn't watch the game & because of that could not formulate a reasonable opinion on a certain issue....that would be an invalid opinion. On the other hand, if someone didn't watch the game......but could formulate a rational opinion based on everything else.....they would have a valid opinion. If you went blind.....you'd still have your football smarts & still have you're ability to analyse things. You might find you ask for more descriptions of things since you couldn't watch yourself but that shouldn't stop you from having valid opinions on issues.....with the ability to rationally back them. IMO an invalid opinion is one that the only rationale for it is along the lines of "I saw the game....it's what I saw." P.S. I don't need to eat schit to have the opinion that it tastes terrible.

It's this bit I take issue with though. I like to think that even though I may not see a game, I can formulate an educated and informed opinion based on listening to the radio, analysing the stats(both of the game & historical), seeing some highlights and carefully listening to other's opinions & analysis. Hell, that's probably a damned sight more than what most TV analysts do to formulate their 'expert' opinions which then get regurgitated by thousands.

You seem to associate watching the game to being able to logically analyse, assess & impartially dissect what is happening on the field. Re-wording your point...... A moronic idiot who watches the game can have a valid opinion.....A genius who doesn't watch the game cannot have a valid opinion. I know you weren't stating things in such a polarized manner bet basically that is your premise. I totally disagree with that concept. I get to listen to the games(& watch on very odd occasions).....I watch the highlights.....& I piece together the opinions of others(rationally using logic etc to accept some opinions over others). Most people who watch a game have no real idea of the intricacies anyway. I personally am only just learning to analyse the OL performances....basically if I watch a game, my opinion on the OL could not realistically go any deeper than...."They played well"....based on the QB having time to throw. If I wanted to give an opinion on how Preston played.....I'd defer to the opinions of others.....& if those opinions were all pretty much in unison on the matter, I'd adopt the opinion as my own. Simply......I do not EVER need to see footage of the great RB Jim Brown to have the valid opinion that he was the greatest RB of all time.

There is a difference between ethnicity & nationality. I'm Australian but...... Born in England Father Irish Mother born in England but.... Father Spanish Mother Austrian My ethnicity would have to be Western European....though I put Australian since I'm an Aussie.

AAAARRRGGGGHHHHH

Does he now? Really? Are you sure now? You aren't just saying that because he got two in his last game? You're not just saying that because you don't like him & it is 'the thing to say' about him? How about comparing when he gets his sacks to his two biggest rivals???? Don't worry, I've done it all for you. Schobel.... 13 games played 12.5 sacks in 8 different games 2 junk sacks Peppers.... 13 games played 11 sacks in 6 different games 3 junk sacks Taylor.... 13 games played 11.5 sacks in 9 different games 2 junk sacks If you need me to, I can type out the down, distance & time in game of all three DEs. I wish people would just STFU about Schobel regarding his 'junk time' sacks. When you look at the actual play by play of the games, he is totally comparable to his 'great' counterparts(regarding pass-rush). Oh....one more thing..... ......you're wrong, you're wrong.......

When we were passing at 31st.....we make some changes.....things improve to 16th.....one certainly does not start complaining about it. To complain before the change is totally warranted....to complain now is idiotic. Improvements are happening. (The answer is Yes....if it means we win a lot) (The answer is also Yes....since to expect greater improvement over such a short period is stupid)
-
You're doing this on purpose aren't you? Nobody could be stupid enough to continually ignore the pertinent opposing arguments(even though it is typed out so you cannot miss/forget them)....not address them....and keep repeating their original premise. Hell, it's not even an argument....you are wrong in your assumtion of the figures. I'll repeat it one more time for you....if you ignore it....AAAARRRGGGGHHHHH SINCE OPENING UP THE OFFENCE(4 GAMES AGO) WE ARE AVERAGING 203.3 PASSING YARDS/GAME......JP HAS THROWN FOR 212.5 YARDS/GAME!!!!!!!!!!!!! WE HAVE BEEN PERFORMING AT 16th IN THE LEAGUE......NOT 30th. If you want us to pass for over 200 yards every game......that means the average you are wanting is.....lets say.....240yards/game(since the lowest will be 201). That will come to around 4000yards in the season. What you are actually asking for is for us to have a one of the BEST passing attacks in the league......not an average one. I'd love us to have one of the best too, but I'm happy that since we've cut the reigns on JP we have leaped from 31st to 16th. Why are you not happy about that too? How can you not see/understand/comprehend these numbers???????????? AN AVERAGE PASSING ATTACK IS 200yards/game..... AN AVERAGE IS WORKED OUT BY ADDING ALL THE NUMBERS TOGETHER!!!!! ALL OF THEM!!!!! INCLUDING THE GOOD(HOU)....AND THE BAD(NYJ). Again I say...... SINCE OPENING UP THE OFFENCE(4 GAMES AGO) WE ARE AVERAGING 203.3 PASSING YARDS/GAME......JP HAS THROWN FOR 212.5 YARDS/GAME!!!!!!!!!!!!! WE HAVE BEEN PERFORMING AT 16th IN THE LEAGUE......NOT 30th.

And if that sack was the one against SD......it was only a sack because JP ran into the tackler rather than away from....or back into the pocket. Peters did a perfect job.

What current Bills have surprised you the most?

My house insurance bill.....it's actually lower this year than last year & it covers replacement of property regardless of cost now rather than an agreed amount. -
As I said.... post-HOU....we netted an average of 203.3 passing yards/game That means we'd be about 16th in passing over the last 4 weeks That number is net(includes sack yardage) so the actual thrown yardage is more. On every count, the passing game has been fine over the last 4 games. It was low prior to the last 4 games. Over the last 4 games....since we have 'freed' JP.....the passing game has been middle of the pack. I honestly cannot see what you are complaining about. It really sounds like you are saying.... "I want us to have one of the top passing games in the league. Why can't we have one of the top passing attacks in the league. " I want us to be #1 in every positive statistical category but.....it's silly to whinge when we are not only doing OK in a category, but are actually improving. You do understand that JP was set lose more before the HOU game & subsequently he has had 2 come from behind victories....the sacks have reduced....& we have produced passing numbers comparable to the league average????????????????????? If you understand that......stop your whining about how you want to see more passing yards. If you are lucky we might get behind early & by lots to MIA next week.....we'll be bound to throw the ball up for grabs lot in that situation. AND STOP TAKING JUST LAST GAME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The previous 3 games we called an average of 39.7 passes per game. We killed the Jets. What do you want? Should the coaches call extra passing plays because they look pretty? Once we had a good lead....& with the running game working so well.....it would have been MORONIC to pass the ball more.

HOU 38 passes WINJAX 28 passes WIN SD 37 passes LOSS What exactly have you been watching the last 4 weeks???? What about against HOU & JAX?He won those two for us. What games have you been watching the last 4 weeks??? But before the HOU game we were told that the leash would be taken off....AND IT WAS!!!!!What games have you been watching the last 4 weeks??? Look at our offence in two sections.....pre-HOU....& post-HOU.I refer to the HOU game because that is where the Offence was opened up more. Pre-HOU....we netted an average of 139.4 passing yards/game post-HOU....we netted an average of 203.3 passing yards/game That means we'd be about 16th in passing over the last 4 weeks....or to put it differently....since we cut JPs leash. Again I ask you....what games have you been watching the past 4 weeks???

I guess when the running game is working.....

We may be winning..... and JP may be playing well..... but.... I'm not happy to accept another sub 250 yard passing game again.
