  1. Soooo....first prediction wrong.
  2. Yes. Join Field Pass at NFL.com.
  3. I'm still waking up...
  4. Coincidence that......"Disrespect was largely the focus of the sportsmanship conference.".....and JP calls out a kid for being disrespectful? JPs 'look' & demeanor may be a bit deceiving....JP seems to be a fairly smart guy. Things are looking good for the future....fingers crossed.
  5. Sounds realistic to me. One time.....at band camp.....I got into an argument & yelled...."I'm going to physically assault you while casting racial slurs on your heritage." "I'm going to sexually molest your dog." That's great.
  6. It's really sad that you have to go to soooooooo much trouble spelling out an obvious situation to explain why the overreaction to an innocuous event is an overreaction. After all that, I bet certain people still won't acknowledge your point though.
  7. This makes sense to me now....I don't ever recall thinking....."BringBackKennethDavis has got it totally wrong" before. OK...different thread....easy error. All on the same page now..... Simply discussing here.... Apart from the concept of 'context'.....i.e. if he was directly asked the question by a reporter(this was covered in the other thread you were referring to).....the QB position is special. To paraphrase Marv....nobody ever has an OLman(?) controversy. If the coaches are finally satisfied with JP enough to know they will stick with him in the foreseeable future, the media & fans are greatly interested. It is also a public endorsement for JP.....a confidence booster for him. It is also possible that his team mates wanted him anointed as the starter....indefinitely. This could well be a motivation builder. I cannot see how it could possibly be viewed as a distraction.....if the coach let slip that we'd be looking for a QB next year, that would be a distraction. I cannot imagine any of the players thinking about this in any way but positively....if at all. Also, when you consider JDGs propensity in the past to be.....negative....towards JP(I believe crusade is the term used by some), his STRONG reaction against this innocuous announcement does smell a little fishy.
  8. If we don't break the bank can we bring him back?
  9. I hate to say it but the highlighted part is extremely ironic. If you re-read the posts you'll find that.... JDG....stated that he entirely disagrees with the announcement and congratulated JP. He did not however give any reasons for his disagreement. tgreg99(in the post you responded to)....Called out JDG asking for his reasons for entirely disagreeing with the announcement. Furthermore..... JDG....then gave his reasons as being he "disagrees with making decisions about next year when you still have yet to play your biggest game *this year*." DIBS....then pointed out that that is an illogical(not logical as you stated) reason since many, many personnel decisions are made mid-season which effect the following season & that unless JDG was saying he has always disagreed with that concept....his reason does not hold water.
  10. My problem is not to do with 'the business' at all....it is that you are being too hasty in your assessment of Spikes. You may be correct that he emulates what happened to Cowart....but many a LB has come back from the injury he had....usually showing sub performance the following year & back to full strength the next. The last two weeks have surely made you question your assessment....Spikes has been performing at a much higher level than previous this season. It would be a devastating loss to cut him only to have him perform at pro bowl levels elsewhere.
  11. No you don't. If we extended an important players contract who is due to be a FA at the end of the season....ie. NC or Fletcher.......you would probably be in agreeance with the decision.....therefore you are obviously not in disagreement over making decisions about next years personel when we still have important games to play this year left.
  12. Seems to me any LB....not just MLB at #4.....I'd probably have CB at #4 too.
  13. A little bird told me that Marv is taking a good long look at Vanderjagt.
  14. You flippantly say that but......what most people don't realize is that if you can convince 85% or more of this board to agree on any given topic......the mystical forces of the universe will align & alter reality in accordance with TSWs concordance. i.e......if we all agree that JP sux & Nall should get the start.....that is exactly what will happen. It's all very complex & serious stuff.
  15. That's what he pays his wife for.
  16. That is something we have virtually never done period.
  17. Why is he 'hypothetically' answering possible questions about next season? Maybe because somebody asked.....and to refuse answer would open up a can of worms..... REPORTER..."So Dick.....now that JP is showing the goods on a weekly basis, what's his status for next season?" DICK...."Please keep all questions to this season. Thanks." HEADLINE...."LOSMANS' FUTURE IN BUFFALO UNCERTAIN!!" Then again, there might not have been any questions in the first place & Dick might simply have wanted to show support to his QB.
  18. ...and Mark Pike People forget how good he was. Best 'big man' special teamer ever.....according to Marv.
  19. They're just messing with you Daq.
  20. Anyone know where I can buy this outfit for the wife??? Fantastic!
