  1. Actually up to this week, McNabb had started & completed 1 more game(9) than Romo(8) and has thrown for 2 more TDs(plus 3 more on the ground) and 4 less INTs. I'm not trying to make an argument for McNabb.....simply showing how astounding it is(when you consider McNabb) that Romo got the probowl selection.
  2. Hello....tap, tap, tap.....McFly.....tap, tap. Read the quote. If they simply started to recognize JP, that is totally fine....good in fact. They....however....chose to write as if they had been recognizing him for weeks & weeks. To use terms such as..."week after week" and "as always" is annoying. If they had that knowledge last week, the week before or last month.....why wait till now to write it?
  3. Why Romo & not McNabb? Mind you, apart from Brees, Bulger, Romo & McNabb there is nobody in the NFC who performed consistently well at QB this season.
  4. This from Fox Sports..... You'd think they've been on the JP bandwagon for weeks & weeks rather than just hopping on this week. At least his progression is finally being recognized.
  5. Why not wait another hour? It'll be heaps easier to figure after the Bengals Lose(Win).
  6. I believe they are better since the by week too....however.....there was a HUGE change in offensive philosophy prior to the HOU game. Less 7 step drops, more shotgun, JP being allowed(finally) to use his legs. I think the line improved(marginally) but the changes by play-calling & JP show the real reasons for the greater offensive efficiency. We still let through too many sacks & we still cannot get any push up the middle(esp. on short yardage). We need to upgrade the interior of the OL.
  7. "Week 16 Rooting Schedule" You know, to an Aussie this has a totally different meaning. ROOT
  8. Bill....I want us to take an OG in the first round next draft. I personally believe that a good OL is vital to superbowl success.....however.....I wish you would stop linking that article for the purpose of showing that teams that take OGs in the first round have a huge record of success. It is not true and is disingenuous to say so. I actually(a while back) looked at OGs drafted in the first round & found that at best, the teams that drafted them progressed to the superbowl at the league average. All the article really shows is that the 2 teams from the last superbowl had drafted guards in the first round.....the premise does not follow through with the previous 30 superbowl teams to the same extent. Both teams had drafted TEs in the first round(as had NE)....do we think that the way to win a superbowl is to draft a TE in the first round? No....very few teams that have used 1st round picks on TEs have ended up winning(or getting to) the superbowl. OTs on the other hand may well be a different story. I intend(very soon) to look at 1st round OTs in the superbowl but...... simply put again....... Teams that have selected OGs in the 1st round of the draft in the last 20 years do not see superbowl action any more than the teams that have not drafted OGs in the 1st round.
  9. I've got no idea about the argument since I didn't follow it at all but......what happens when you are trying to explain something to somebody who either simply hasn't the cognitive capacity to comprehend.....or has an emotional issue involved so as to be unable to see what you are putting across clearly? I'm not saying that was the case here....as I said I wouldn't have a clue since I didn't follow it but......when faced with that sort of situation, you can only dumb down or re-approach a subject in so many ways before frustration(or humour) sets in. There's also the concept of people arguing simply for the sake of opposing......nit-picking side issues so as to (purposefully) never see/acknowledge the original points being made. Not that I've ever encountered that sort of behaviour on this board.
  10. I didn't know all of that.....thanks, good post. I really don't see the problem at all. The complaints tend to be along the lines of....."it's taking Christ out of Christmas.".....or....."it's disrespectful." Is it? How exactly? It's only disrespectful if one chooses to see it that way. What difference to you as an individual does it make if somebody else abbreviates the word Christmas? Is it OK to abbreviate Jesus Christ to JC....or to simply Christ....or Jesus? It cannot be considered blasphemy since it is in no way taking the Lords name in vain so......what exactly is the problem?
  11. But that was the first one in 50 years or so(IIRC).
  12. OK....own up......who was the grumble bum who ticked 'Below Average'?
  13. Very, very, true......though a bit sad that it works that way.
  14. Hell, yeah. He single handedly(well...sort of) won us the JAX game. I think there is a negative slant against him because he was our first player picked last year....and that he is a complimentary type player, not the position starter that we needed. Randle El was a second rounder....as was Sinorice Moss. Parrish has certainly performed in what is essentially just past his rookie year at a level higher than should perhaps be expected....he is out performing Randle El at the equivalent time.
  15. I think you may be right. What a great day!
  16. pwns Miami? Oh....I get it.....porns Miami....in that he !@#$s them in front of the cameras.
  17. No.....they aren't the "haters"....you've got it all wrong. Saying JP might not be all that when we were losing to the likes of the Lions was a reasonable thing to say. Saying however that irrelevant of the situation(bad OL play/new coaching/new schemes/rookies starting/young QB learning) that JP "will never make it" or that he "should be benched & Nall given a go", does lead to the general opinion that the person making those comments cannot listen to reason.....and in fact might(for some idiotic reason) have a personal dislike for the kid which is causing such strong & thoughtless comments. So don't worry.....you were obviously never a hater.....simply a doubter.
  18. Yeah......You're !@#$ing with him.....I'm !@#$ing with you.
  19. ....or Dielman.
  20. I gotta say Bill.....I really look forward to your 'A Few Thoughts....' posts. Especially after a win.
  21. No worries.....if you can't forgive him for his errors.....which he has now admitted to and apologized for, that's your choice as an individual.
  22. To err is human, to forgive.....you know the rest don't you?
  23. First place I'd look if I were him is my wife's pants.
