  1. I think you had your irony switch disabled.
  2. Same thing isn't it?
  3. I think it means.... "I'm a winking clown."
  4. That just means that Nix, Whaley and Brandon are as stupid as Marrone!! You know what this means? We are DOOMED!
  5. Oh well....same old, same old then.
  6. I don't follow. I meant that Hackett's love for Nassib could influence him to the point of not selecting an obviosuly better QB(than Nassib) in the draft.
  7. I'm more concerned about Hackett's love for Nassib potentially interfering with objective decision making in regards to our QB of the future.
  8. I totally agree that they had a great offensive draft. They improved at WR where we declined at WR due to injury, making them much better than us at WR. They passed us in TE productivity though not by much. We however have much better RBs and a better OL as was shown throughout the season and reflected in the statistics. We also had the better overall defense, though not by much. They have a much better LB corp but we have the much better DL and better DBs. Their 2 defensive playmakers are trumped by our 3 on defense. You realize that Freeney got less sacks than Darius(not one of our playmakers) this season and has had reduced numbers every year since 2009? If not for QB and coaching they likely would look to be at best on par with us in terms of talent and likely less talented with less future potential. They have neglected their OL and until this year have had bad drafts with no good FA acquisitions in years. Look at their roster. You could say that they are brimming with talent and potential in the passing game.....but they certainly are not brimming with talent across the board. 29th in run D....21st in pass D....22nd in run O. They really are not as talented a team as you seem to think.
  9. Not that I have an opinion on his talent level.....but when a majority of mock drafts are predicting a player to go #1 in the draft I tend to think that said player might be better than a standard 3rd round pick.
  10. QUARTERBACK!!!!!!! You were arguing the talent of their roster compared to ours. You obviously started to see that, if one takes away the QB disparity, then perhaps their roster is not that much better than ours....if indeed better at all. ....so you resorted to listing win-loss records. Good argument. ....and that ridiculously better Colts roster won only 2 games last year.
  11. I think you are underestimating the value of a talented QB. Apart from QB you are saying they have a better receiving corp(including TEs), better LBs & a better Kicker.....you were incorrect about DE. Our Defense was better... Colts D ranked 26th(Bills 22nd) Colts pass D ranked 21st(Bills 10th) Colts run D ranked 29th(Bills 31st) ...but they had a much better passing game. Colts O ranked 10th(Bills 19th) Colts pass O ranked 7th(Bills 25th) Colts run O ranked 22nd(Bills 6th) Ridiculously better? That's ridiculous!
  12. I think perhaps he had chemistry with quite a few of the players.....it was his lack of ability that prevented him hitting his receivers in stride more than twice this year IMO.
  13. So you're saying that the 6-10 Bills have more talent than the 11-5 colts at RB, OT, OG, C, DT, CB, S, P, KR & PR? .....are their DEs better than ours? Freeney is a LB now. Seems to me that matter2003 might have had a decent point about the importance of QB.
  14. Insist all you want. All you showed was that the Bills lacked the ability to win.....the reasons for which are debatable.
  15. Nice pick up. So Parcells didn't follow his own rules when selecting with his best draft pick. Heh....go figure.
  16. I don't blame or feel negative towards all of those Bills fans who perceive that we do not have a good deal of talent on the roster. Year after year we see young players hit the squad that are full of potential.....and we wait....and hope...and pray that the potential develops into actual solid, good or great ability....but we have been disappointed every year. Year after year of wasted draft picks, wasted FA acquisitions and it often seems that the talent we do develop we let go to other teams. I don't blame people at all for feeling we are much the same as we have been for the last 13 years. In my mind however there are three things that are giving me a positive outlook. 1. The 2004 Chargers In 2003 the Chargers went 4-12 and were universally considered.....even after their draft & off-season moves to be a totally talentless team. All they had was LaDainian Tomlinson. I recall looking through my preview magazines at the time with friends laughing at how pathetic their roster was. Apart from LT they had absolutely nobody. No players ranked in the top 100, no QB.....nobody. After their 12-4 2004 season their slew of horrible irrelevant players had improved to being considered good to very good with several pro bowl players. (It certainly helped that Brees stepped up that year). This is how team play often works. When things start going well, players start to perform and shine. 2. Spiller During this last season I realized that it has been over a decade since the Bills have had a true STAR player. We have had some good ones over that time.....a few pro bowls etc....but no player(apart from punter or PR) that truly stood out as a legitimate STAR at their position. Spiller in my mind is one step away from being that star player. On top of that we have Mario Williams(who'd have ever thought we'd land him???) and a few legit play-makers in K.Williams, Byrd, Stevie Johnson(he may not be a star, but he pulls in some amazing catches and helped Fitz look better than he is), Wood & Levitre....plus McKelvin on PR. That group of players have more play making ability than any group we have had in over a decade IMO. 3. The Front Office Last off-season saw the first time in 20(25?) years that the Bills not only targeted but landed a huge name FA. The significance of this IMO is massive. It meant the potential start of doing things in a different manner than we have done....in a manner which is pro active...a manner which wasn't wait and see, save $$$ or slow & steady. Before the 2012 season ended Nix announced his #1 priority.....to find a Franchise Quarterback. He didn't kitty foot around to spare Fitz's feelings or hold back for fear of being unable to achieve it....he made QB the #1 priority. Furthermore, we grab a HC who is not our usual cheap retread loser retard.....and we do it in a way that somehow seemed prescient and screwed with the other teams looking for a HC. The front office is really starting to look like it perhaps knows what it is doing. They are the reasons why, when I look at our roster, I see a group of young players full of potential. A Star RB....a bunch of play-makers....a solid veteran core....4 rookie starters who may improve to be solid - great players.....A future 2013 rookie class that will provide the QB of the future.....A future coaching staff that will be dynamic and intelligent.....and basically the glass as half full. Hey....I could be totally wrong on all counts....but I don't know how things are going to pan out....and I know that none of you know how things are going to pan out. Until proven otherwise I will be excited about my Bills in a manner not seen since Kelly retired. GO BILLS!!!
  17. If we can't get the desired QB with the #8 & the 2nd round #10 pick when we have acknowledged that obtaining a QB is the number one priority then I will be starting to have doubts about the new direction this team has shown to make over the past 2 off-seasons. I rarely make predictions as I believe that the variables in most situations are incalculable.....but.....I will predict that by the time we hit the draft there will be 3 QBs projected as top 15 picks and we will select one of them with the #8 pick.
  18. I would think that if there was one then at least one team would have used it by now. Success rates for virtually all positions and draft places(except 1st round interior OL & #1 in the draft) are extremely low. If fans fully understood the average chance that their 1st round choice has of becoming a good starter in the NFL there would likely be a lot less interest shown by said fans.
  19. That doesn't make sense. Why would we give a divisional rival a 2nd(or 3rd) round pick for a player who was 3rd round potential 2 years ago instead of spending said pick in the draft and getting a player of 2nd(or 3rd) round potential ourselves? A lot of people are acting like "weak QB draft class" means that every QB this year has less potential than all of the 1st-4th round QBs selected last year. The reality likely is that since there is no clear star QB(Luck) or "fingers crossed" star QB(RG3), the class is considered weak. How would Smith, Barkley, Wilson, Nassib, Glennon etc match up against how Tannehill, Weeden or Osweiler were perceived at this point last year?
  20. This is the bit I don't get. He was a 3rd rounder 2 drafts ago. With showing pretty much nothing since then, why is he worth a 2nd or 3rd in trade....and why is he better than the 3-8 QBs slated to be 1st or 2nd round potential?
  21. Has Mallett done something that I'm unaware of?
  22. Should be 27 starts. That would rule out Glennon yes?
  23. Furthering(for interest sake).... 2011 draft class. 26-27-60 qualifiers: Greg McElroy Christian Ponder Blaine Gabbert Ricky Stanzi Andy Dalton 2012 draft class. 26-27-60 qualifiers: Andrew Luck Russell Wilson Nick Foles Kirk Cousins Interesting misses 2011 + 2012 Cam Newton Jake Locker Colin Kaepernick Robert Griffin III Ryan Tannehill Brandon Weeden Brock Osweiler
  24. I used the term arguably because I didn't want things turning into an old argument about Bledsoe's abilities. I personally think he was good....not very good. Some think he was bad or very bad & I guess some think he was great or horrible also. The pertinent point I think is that none of Parcells drafted QBs ended up being of the calibre that we are wanting our new QB to be. IMO the Parcells rule is a good guideline but one should not discount players that don't fit into the rules(for many varied reasons). This likely applies to all sets of rules in these sort of situations. For those interested....this article explains and covers recent history with the 26-27-60 rule: http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2010/writers/john_lopez/07/08/qb.rule/index.html Interestingly Fitz is on the relatively short list of QBs given since 1998.
  25. That Deep Voice guy. YEAH
