  1. I've seen the previews of the draft......the Chiefs don't trade. They take Sandcastle at #1.
  2. Agreed! We might want to use the tag on a player that actually wants to play in Buffalo.
  3. The site I use(in the link) does the same thing. They had TJ as the 1 year - 4.5m contract for several days before changing it. This seems to be yet another example of where the desire to publish the information outweighs the desire to report things accurately. It could easily be argued that due to the work of the NFLPA, Brady was able to make all of the $$$ throughout his career......and to agree to a contract that hinders his fellow players(NFLPA) is perhaps somewhat selfish.
  4. People who say(or type) "period" at the end of their statements......as if punctuating the fact that they shouldn't have been in a discussion about the issue in the first place.
  5. Here is a link to the deal: http://www.spotrac.c...iots/tom-brady/ I have to learn to wait till the official info comes out in regards to media & contracts......this is the 2nd time in 2 weeks(Tarvaris Jackson) that early reports were way off the mark. 5yr 70.6m.....33m guaranteed. Brady Cap numbers: 2013: 13.8m 2014: 14.8m 2015: 13m 2016: 14m 2017: 15m Average/year = 14.1m If retires after.... 2014: 15.5m/year (18m dead money in 2015) 2015: 17.9m/year (12m dead money in 2016) 2016: 15.4m/year (6m dead money in 2017) It's not as bad as initially reported.....but it is still apparently below what one would expect his market worth to be.
  6. Maybe they were simply doing Nelson a favour. Being not tendered gives him ample opportunity to be picked up by the other 31 teams. If they were certain that he wasn't going to fit into their plans(& I think it quite irrational to think that they haven't got a plan and simply let him go at this point without thought to the depth chart).....it only hurts Nelson to keep him on the roster. It also helps set up an atmosphere of consideration for players at Buffalo....which might factor into getting FAs to sign.
  7. Come to think of it.....my point would have been made clearer had I instead said.... "Do you really base your positional needs on what all of the idiots here think?"
  8. You don't find it perhaps coincidental that Marrone's old QB is being compared to his new incumbent QB? My meaning is that if Fitz(or Nassib) played for any other team, there likely wouldn't be any comparisons made.
  9. The wheels on the bus go round and round.
  10. Do you really base your positional needs on what all of us idiots think?
  11. By definition, "dead wood" means: people in a group or organization who are not useful any more and who need to be removed. Getting rid of the dead wood should(and does) occur every year in accordance to said dead wood's cap structure. I can't fathom how people can think that getting rid of the dead wood could in any way mean we are using a purging fire to clean house.
  12. yeah....that's a little loopy.
  13. Not that I think this is the case.....but....does anybody know what sort of measures the League has in place to detect and enforce against this sort of salary cap cheating? The Australian Football League has very strong measures in place to detect this sort of thing.....as 10-15(?) years ago it was quite rampant in the League. Teams are still regularly getting caught cheating on the cap.....even with the constant scrutiny.
  14. 3. He is being paid an additional $10mil a year from an "unrelated" company in the guise of a sponsorship deal. (The Patriots would never cheat like that though.....would they?)
  15. ....and if we want Geno we trade ahead of the Cardinals(?).
  16. No.....they sound like a team that has had a future HOF QB behind center for over a decade.
  17. Next time you should try stopping. That would force rude people to move out of the way.
  18. What makes you think we won't be signing a big name FA WR?
  19. Having a star QB(Manning).....having him get injured....and then getting lucky with the draft netting another star QB(Luck). Apart from last draft, the Colts have been drafting terribly for years.....leaving them with a team that has less overall talent than we do.
  20. My major pet peeve at the moment is one which I would like everybody reading this thread to pay attention to..... THEN & THAN They are not interchangeable!
  21. You are arguing about issues that I was not discussing. I was discussing the relative success of the 2009-2012 Bills drafts in relation to what might be a realistic standard in the NFL....not rating or grading the GMs/coaches/scouts that were involved in deciding on the players. That being said.....who gives a toss about Aaron Maybin when there were 3 top starters drafted.....with one being a star(2 pro-bowls) and one being considered top 10 in the league?
  22. Aside from the concept that the 2012 & 2011 drafted players have only had 1 & 2 years experience.....so we cannot assume they will fail......how many draft "hits" would be expected from any given draft in your opinion? How many would a team need to do to be considered above the curve....or below it?
  23. Ignoring the metaphor, I personally would prefer the 3 hamburgers. (yummy ) Take the QB every time!
  24. I hear ya....it seems a little futile wishing for the stars when the reality is we'll all be ecstatic if we simply managed to scrape into the playoffs.
  25. You seem to be under two common misconceptions here. Firstly, the misconception that new players to the NFL(rookies) will usually show their worth in their 1st(or 2nd) season. Looking at our last 4 drafts..... Wood, Levitre, Byrd, Spiller.....all have shown themselves to be solid - great. Gilmore, Glenn, Bradham, Darius, Sheppard.....all started a full season in 2012.....all could easily become solid - great starters. Gilmore & Glenn potentially very good....Darius in particular could turn it on in 2013 as he is unusually young and DTs often put it together in their 3rd year. Bradham showed regular solid signs of improvement throughout his rookie season. Graham & A Williams....very young.....solid starter could be in their future. Troup & Carrington.....high hopes are still applied to these two. Secondly, the misconception that unless you have 3+ solid - great starters from each draft that it is somehow under the average. If a team was to draft 2 solid-great players every draft.....in 11 seasons the entire starting team would be solid-great....and one would simply be able to rotate old for new each year. The reality is that 2 solid+ starters each year is a great result. How have we done in the last 4 seasons? Byrd, Levitre, Wood, Spiller.....definite. Gilmore, Glenn,.....likely. Darius.....good chance to be a star....likely to be minimally solid. Already we are above the curve with 7 players.
