MYTH Busted: "The Defense couldn't stop the Run"
damj replied to DrDawkinstein's topic in The Stadium Wall
8 of the 14 points were a short field after a ST turnover. Otherwise, the D gave up 6 points. The offense had 3 drives into the red zone in the 4th quarter and had 3 points. Defense was not the problem -
Week 1: PIT loss Weeks 2, 3 & 4 blow out bad teams (MIA, WAS, NYJ). Week 5: Beat KC Week 6: Defense struggles against TEN, offense almost pulls it out. Week 7: Bye Week 8: Struggled against Miami, but turned it on in the 3rd qtr and won going away. Week 9: Jax loss, Def good, Off struggled Week 10: Blow out NYJ Week 11: Lose to Colts, Def and Off struggled Week 12: Blow out NO Week 13: NE loss, Def gave team a chance to win, Offense struggled. Every win since KC has been followed by a loss. Except for the TEN loss, the offense has struggled in each loss. Since the bye, the offense plays good one week, then like crap the next.

We're not as good as we thought we were and have serious flaws. Last year the offense was on fire and it masked alot of these problems.
-
I just think this team is mentally weak right now. Low confidence, poor coaching not on the same page. If we come out and play like we can ... yes, we can win. They just haven't looked right since the bye week, and I don't seeing it change now
-
So was the NE game
-
Yes, they can be beaten ... but we're a mess right now and losing Tre ... I don't feel good about TB
-
Not this time. Every "bounce back" win was against a weak opponent Lose to PIT, beat MIA Lose to TEN, beat MIA Lose to JAC, beat NYJ Lose to IND, beat NO

We built a team to beat KC ... and can't beat anyone else.
damj replied to damj's topic in The Stadium Wall
Agreed. We have a poor o-line, so why do we constantly try running between the tackles? To generate any running offense we need to be more creative. How about a jet sweep, wr screens, RB toss plays, reverses ... use speed to attack the edges. -
I agree. We can beat the Milwaukee Bucks ANY day. The Tampa Bay Bucs I'm not so sure about

It seems like the league has figured out how to play against KC and the Bills. -
Brandon Beane has built a finesse team designed to beat Kansas City. We're not built to handle physical teams that can run the ball. The offense has little room for error and unfortunately we often shoot ourselves in the foot with bad play calling, penalties at the wrong time, drops, red zone inefficiency, etc...

No wait ... I was at the airport yesterday and heard the same thing. Ian Rappaport is reporting it (3) Ian Rapoport on Twitter: "The 2022 NFL Salary Cap is expected to reach the max of $208.2M — which means spending should be back. My story with @TomPelissero on the return of economic normalcy: https://t.co/INu4NnAQIw" / Twitter

Del Reid and the Mafia Babes are at it again encouraging the BillsMafia to donate $27 for Tre. Let's show Tre how much he means to us!

Exactly. We built this team to beat the Chiefs, but not to beat teams with good running games
-
doh! I see us at 10-7 or 9-8.
