Free agent under the radar players

Jameel McClain -
He played RT for the Texans in zone blocking scheme. Mobile enough to switch to LT, former TE, probably becomes best tackle on market so cost will be high.

I want the Bills to take Hightower, I dont care if its not a need or it is higher then he should go, guy is a gamer who I feel is going to be the next big game defender in the nfl. Then in the second round we should sraft Mahoney.

MARVIN MCNUTT IOWA WIDE RECEIVER
The Rev.Mattb74 ESQ. replied to brianhawkeye2012's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
i caught a couple of their games, and it seemed that when they needed a play they went his way. He seemed physical when going up for the ball and made a bunch of plays even when the other team was zoning in on him. of course I am not a scout and only saw play two or three times. -
do we get a pick for loosing any of our free agents last year, i would think Barnett might offset the loss of poz

love the Hightower pick, put him back with Dareus. After the last couple of years I am all for drafting as many people as you can from Alabama the new U as far as talent goes. -
Plax, current top dog of sports douchebags?
The Rev.Mattb74 ESQ. replied to Peace's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I dont feel that Plax is the biggest douche either for what he did, but come on man. He really expected his coach to be all warm and fuzzy, maybe get him a warm tea with honey in it and hug it out. "Dont worry Plax about the millions we invested in you, or letting your teamates down. Dont worry that you let your family down by going away to prison leaving your wife at home with your child its ok get them next time. -
Torell Troup is Horrible
The Rev.Mattb74 ESQ. replied to papazoid's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
But this is our version of jeopardy but rather then saying what is or who is as in jeopardy you have to use phrases such as- if you think --- then you know nothing about football--- or any generic line that can be said fitting in phrases like Ralph is cheap, High Motor white guy,or Buddy and Chan dont know how to build a team. I also thought Troup played well, I was thinking that our D-line was going to have good starters and great depth. -

Marv do we get the LT lookalike in Drag too? -
I would like to see a top 10 D that makes plays ie. gets sacks and turnovers. Also would like to see Fitzy play atleast at the level he played last year. Development of players in the last two draft classes, and Easley or Jones prove to be a good number two next to Johnson. All in all get me excited about the future by having exciting games that keep me into them so I dont want to turn them off after KO like I felt with Jaorun, Mularkey, Williams. Also atleast 8 wins while being in the rest, beat the cheatriots atleast once and sweeping the Fins. All in All if my optimism raises for the future I will go into next offseason more hopoeful then this year.

The problem beng with a trade is I doubt anyone will make a trade between now and Satruday evening unless it is a real bargain ie. 7th rounder because they will just wait to see who is out there after the cuts rumored that the eagles may cut Asante Samuel or another top corner because of depth they have. So I doubt anyone will make a an offer of anything of consequence right now, unless you hold on to him till Sunday then trade him and hope to pick someone else up to fill the slot.IMHO

I agree this would be the biggest surprise on this list

Can a bust on one team be a star on another?
The Rev.Mattb74 ESQ. replied to cage's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Metzelars was a waiver pickup I believe also I believe the Bills lost Martin Mayhew in the whole Plan B thing but he became a pretty good safety. Bo Jackson was drafted 1st by the Bucs refused to sign then was drafted in the 7th round by the Raiders I dont know if that qualifies. I like both Jags recievers and Qb Brunell. I think the biggest one I can think of is Kerry Collins huge disapointment with Carolina became a pretty god QB also Derek Anderson just for a year. -
I am a Libertarian through and through however this has nothing to do with big government therefor it is not a libertarian problem, no one is forced to be in the NFL. Your point about the draft is true with all companies as if you go to college get a job with IBM and they want you to work in Seatle you cant tell them no I am going to work in NY. You work with them where they want you and under both company and union policies or not at all. Each team is not an individual company but a franchise in a large company called the NFL. If I buy a pepsi franchise I still have to obey pepsi rules and give them a percentage of my profits, pay employees within company and union guidlines, and adhere to pepsi promotions and advertising.

The Rev.Mattb74 ESQ. replied to amacc's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I believe he was talking about the 2012 mayan prophecy which fortells a great shift in universal fortunes where things go right for Buffalo sports franchise which knocks balance from all living things thus starting an appocolypse. -
breakdown of Dareus' bowl game
The Rev.Mattb74 ESQ. replied to FluffHead's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I am pretty sure Bama plays a 3-4 defense. Last year McClain went high and this year Hightower was supposed to go high if he declared both Inside LBs, to me that speaks volumes of how well Bama's D-line is playing. I am really pulling we draft this kid, honestly both Fairly and Bowers worry me, granted I am not a pro scout but I still think one and one make two. I only saw Fairly play in the Championship game and while it was a tremendous game I was more amazed by Oregons idea of a blocking scheme then his play. As far as Bowers goes I dont want our first round pick two years in a row from Clemson(its not the U from the mid nineties). Dareus is big and fast and can keep the linebackers clean to make plays while making a few himself. -
agree, Rt and TE should be aquired through free agency. The draft should be focused on front seven. DE and Inside linebackers especially. I would say OLB but Moats looked good and you never know about Merriman, However Poz is vastly overrated and the other MLB is non existent. I have jumped on the Dareous bandwagon, I think him at DE while grabbing Matthews even in the second round and someone else later in the draft would upgrade the front seven.

Just a quick thought on where the Bills pick and the need they have at QB. Without Luck some draftnicks feel that Gabbert is the only top ten QB and the other three are lower first round picks. Lets say the Panthers take Fairly first that would put the Broncos at a power position as teams like Arizona, San Fran, Minnesota, and Washington would want to move in front of the Bills to get Gabbert. That would leave Bowers for the Bills. However if the Broncos want Bowers or the corner from LSU and make the pick the Bills could hold a lot of teams ransom for the pick. Either way it could be a win win for the Bills, the key being if they don't blow the pick. I could realistically see them getting Bowers or a trade down and Clayborne and multiple picks in the second and third, and with the way Washington moves around a trade with them could net us a extra second, third and next years first. Obviously alot could happen and nothing is set in stone like the Bills botching everything and ending up with a reach(Whitner) or complete bust(Maybin). If they do reach it is not a huge deal if the guy becomes a pro-bowler but if he ends up average then it is a waste.
