  1. I'd much rather have that home game in my stadium though. I just think it's totally gutless on NE's and Cincy's part. Until very recently, teams always have fought to get the highest seed possible, when there is still a tie to be broken.
  2. Someone explain to me why the New England Patriots and the Cincinnati Bengals will be resting starters tomorrow. I don't get it. Both teams are 10-5. And both will rest starters. So, I guess no one wants the #3 seed instead of #4. If I'm in the Bengals shoes, and the Pats tank their game against Houston, I'm playing to win Sunday Night. It gives them the better chance to host the AFC Championship should it come down to them vs. the Pats right? And that isnt' really far fetched. If the Bengals and Pats win the "wild card weekend" games, both will then be going to Indy and to SD. Both Cincy and NE had both of those teams on the ropes once this year, but barely didn't get it done. Even at that, wouldn't you at least want the highest seed possible JUST IN CASE you have a chance to eventually host the AFC Championship game? If the Bengals and Pats somehow both get through, and the Pats end up hosting, the Bengals will kick themselves in the ass for not trying to beat the Jets in the finale. Works the other way with the Pats too.
  3. GET ER DONE HARRIETT!!! You can be the second set of signage!
  4. Brian Billick is breaking down Tim Tebow about as expert as can be. You couldn't get better insight on the guy that you are now. From his system, to his mechanics, to his head. GREAT analysis from Billick. Doesn't bode well for Tebow.
  5. I'd have to second this. If you do proper research, you'll see that Hyundai's Sante Fe and Veracruz are rated very high. As a matter of fact, the Sante Fe was rated in the top three three years in a row in several mags. Can't beat the warranty or price. I got a Sante Fe Limited in 2007, and already have 77,000 miles on it. The car has been great. I also have almost every upgraded option that you can get in a Toyota or Honda at about $8,000 less. My wife then got a Tuscon in 2007 shortly after mine, and has also loved it. The Tuscon is small, but it has been great so far as well. Nothing wrong with either vehicle. Hers has 44,000. If you need a bigger SUV, you'd most likely want the Veracruz, although it's basically around the same price as the Sante Fe. I would recommend the Sante Fe or Veracruz. Four people in my family now own one or the other, and it is, by far, the most car for the buck. They are now great buys because style has also caught up to their features.
  6. Second Half? Manning most likely will play one series, if that.
  7. Hardly any of this is true. God, it's mind boggling. And let me say again, I'm ok with Nix, as I prefer to wait and see about this guy. I like the staffs he's been on, but we really know nothing about if he was anything integral on any of them at this point. That being said....let's just correct some things, for fact's sakes. PTR Myth: "If the Bills went outside they'd have to wait until each candidate's team was done for the season." There are several candidates, that according to their experience are available NOW. You don't have to wait. See 2009 Cleveland Browns. You would have to wait if you were chasing another team's, non-experienced GMs in waiting. So, under those circumstances, we took Nix. But jeez, they didn't even talk to anyone else. That's kind of weak. Although, I guess if you are going the non-experienced route, is anyone out there going to be that much better than Nix. Who knows. PTR Myth: "If the plan was to go after Cowher they had to have a GM in place." With a guy like Cowher, most likely, if you are chasing him, you approach him first and ask him IF he would want full control. You wouldn't approach a guy like that with a GM already in place, if your GM spot is open. See how Cowher feels about a GM, would he want full control, and if he doesn't want full control, who would he want. If he still seems interested, you may ask him how he would feel about Buddy Nix, or Tom Modrak, or whomever. See if it's doable. Then make a decision on which way to proceed. At this point, if the Bills are going to get Cowher, he most likely already approved Nix being the GM, OR, he already said no, and now it's either up to Buddy to get him interested again, or move on. PTR Myth: "Everyone has to get over the fact that Nix was an internal hire. He's a great hire." How do you know? How in the hell do you even know to what involvement Nix had on any level with the prior Bills or SD teams? That's his mark of success right? Getting AJ Smith to move back to Buffalo is a great hire. Getting Bill Polian to come back to Buffalo is a great hire. Getting a GM that is currently great would be the only great hire Buffalo could make. OK, so now, back to us. We hired Nix. We hope Nix was an instrumental cog with Butler and AJ Smith. We hope he was good in his job, and provided those guys with insightful information for picks. Butler and AJ Smith are player personnel gurus. They weren't GM's who let other guys do their work for them in that dept. This was backed up by John Clayton yesterday on WGR and by Mike Schopp's SD contact yesterday. We HOPE Nix learned from the best, and provided good insight to help make those other guy's the best. We have no idea if that's the case. Let's hope it is. The only thing we can conclude from this hiring is that we have to be better off than Russ Brandon being in charge of the football side of things. I think that is certain. How much better, is yet to be seen. We will see soon, as he has a chance to recruit staff. We'll see his recruiting skills right off the bat. He'll start to give us indications almost immediately. THEN, let's start to judge this guy.
  8. Good god. Please don't tell me you are posting this to help your cause are you? Looking back on this, I never knew how awful most of these drafts are. Seriously, overall draft grade for all of those drafts: D+
  9. Let's look at the facts here: Bill Cowher will be on TV The Bills will be on TV Bill Cowher will be watching TV and commenting on highlights, especially in the AFC. The Bills and Colts will making AFC Highlights. Bill Cowher will be staring at highlights at halftime. Bills fans COULD reach Bill Cowher by making a huge endzone sign. Seems OK by my standards!!! GET ER DONE CABLELADY!
  10. You've gotta be kidding me right? The ONLY great player in there, according to NFL accolades is Rueben Brown. And if you ask Bills fans, he was very good, not great. If you asked Bills fan, they probably would say the only "great" player in that bunch was Antoine Winfield. Everyone here liked to think Emo was a great WR, but he was never considered that way by anybody outside of Buffalo. The rest had some nice careers, but were nothing to really ever think twice about other than maybe Cowart, who had an injury that rendered the rest of his career mediocre. I'd say Butler did ok here, but nothing to slobber all over yourself about.
  11. This has to be some kind of record. Until he got hired yesterday, I've never seen a guy (Buddy Nix) that got all the credit for every staff he's been on.................even though he's never been the head man, on even one of them. It seems that we've hired Bill Braski all of a sudden. All of a sudden, Buddy built the 90's Bills, the 2000's Chargers, and all of the good draft picks from the Bills last year. Oh, and had nothing to do with Maybin being selected over Orakpo. What a man this Buddy, Bill Braski, Nix is. Jesus homers, I have nothing good or bad to say about this hiring yet, but can some of you seriously stop with little school girl giddyness about going to her first dance and look at anything with any kind of objectivity? Is that possible?
  12. We'll all be looking for you then. GET ER DONE CABLELADY!
  13. Don't worry, we'll blow a coverage somewhere, and someone will score a long one. Put it in the endzone.
  14. The best place for this type of thing is in endzone right behind the uprights somewhere. Then, everytime a kick or extra point goes up, you have no choice but to see it. Hell, it can just be on a bed sheet. Anyone in the endzone Sunday?
  15. So again, what did AJ Smith do in SD? Schopp just said, as I've said before, and is easy to figure out that AJ had a heavy hand in every football aspect of the Chargers. That was from a source in SD. So again, if Nix did all of this, what in the hell does AJ Smith do in SD?
  16. Oops, I was late posting this. Good ole boy Buddy! GET ER DONE BUDDY!
  17. Indeed it's not. I guess I'll wait for an app. LOL.
  18. Wasn't that what Modrak did in Philly? How'd that work out in Buffalo? And if you think AJ Smith had that little say in SD, you are mistaken. Nix was involved, no doubt, but Smith has his heavy hands all over SD's org. He fired a coach that was 14-2, so I think it's safe to assume he still deals heavily in player personnel.
