  1. Someone call 911, I think Mort is being held hostage in his own home. Either that or Tom Donahoe was rehired by Ralph Wilson in some capacity larger than Russ Brandon.
  2. You gotta have some heart. I understand that. But they didn't beat a PIttsburgh team that was heartless. LOL. To me, that's about dumbest thing I've ever heard. Especially a team lead by Crosby, who works hard every night, who just won the Stanley Cup and is coming off of another Stanley Cup appearance. I think both teams had heart and genuinely cared about winning.
  3. Heart of a lion those Habs have. Pittsburgh's meanwhile, no heart at all. I think, but I'm not sure that Pittsburgh had heart though, when they beat Detroit last year, but only because Detroit had more points during the year than Pittsburgh. I think that's how it works. What makes me sick about MOntreal in the conference finals is that all of "experts" who don't watch all year can pick it apart and criticize without knowing what they are talking about. They don't know that Montreal has the leading goal scorer in the playoffs. Or that they have the best goaltender. Or, arguably, the best coach. Or, that they have multiple Stanley Cup players on their roster that have won it before, giving them invaluable talent and experience. None of that matters. It's just that, in the NHL, teams that have heart, and a low seed advance once a year..................even though that's pretty much been proven false. Oh, and when that happens in the NFL, well, that's different........lol. Yeah, ok.
  4. The New York Jets backed in to the NFL playoffs because of teams resting starters. The Canadiens backed in playoffs because the Rangers lost their last game of the season. Both teams made it to the conference finals. The Western Conference has the #1 seed playing the #2. Sounds a ton familiar to me. I don't care how many teams make it. The Jets were 9-7, and beat teams resting their roster to get in. Minnesota - New Orleans is equivalent to SJ and Chicago. Not to mention, again, wild card teams have won the Super Bowl before as the lowest seed in the playoffs. Same thing. Maybe the NFL should shorten it's season to 12 games so that teams won't be resting starters, giving teams like the Jets chances to make runs.
  5. And to boot, the #4 usually gets dumped there because of how the seedings work. A lot of times, I.E. last year and this year, everyone knew Pittsburgh was either the best or second best team in the conference.
  6. You mean kinda like the wildcards in making, and sometimes winning the Superbowl right? Same thing, correct?
  7. This is beginning to get borderline stupid. That #1 pick of Fluery won the Stanley Cup LAST YEAR. And again, Detroit and Pittsbugh were in the cup the last two years. Probably with the most talent, arguably, in each conference. I guess no one had heart those last two years right? Also, again, where was Montreal's heart all year? If it wasn't for the Rangers, they wouldn't even be in the playoffs. Any explanations for that?
  8. Very sick. So sick, he's flu like. I'd trade Malkin and his salary somewhere anyday of the week, to get two Cammelleri type players.
  9. With a tie on, there's what, maybe 4 inches of shirt showing when someone wears a suit? People must have some pretty good eyes. More expensive ties, yeah, there's a difference, but there are also $15 ties that you can easily get compliments on. Same with suits. I feel ya though, I saw the Jos A Bank ad on tv during the playoffs, and still realized that I'd pay over $1,000 to get all that stuff. LOL. It's kinda like the shoes in those places. They are about $85 to start and look almost the same as the $30 on sale shoes at department stores and people actually buy them. How much of a man's shoe even shows anyway? Not $55 dollars worth for a universal black color. It's also kind of like the Mitchell and Ness jerseys out there. You know how ridiculously overpriced they are. They themselves, have been doing 50% sales all spring for certain days, teams, leagues, etc. Probably make their $275 jerseys for about $20. It's amazing how much furniture and high end clothing stores are coming off of their profits nowadays. And you know they arne't losing money, even with the "sales". Sorry Chef, I'm just pissed off at a furniture store for something, and I took it out in this thread. Soapboxing. LOL I apologize. Hope you look great.
  10. When you are 8th, and you take out Pitt and Wash, is there really anything any better than that? I can't imagine. What a ride.
  11. I could be wrong about this, but I know I'm close. Didn't Montreal back into the playoffs because the Rangers lost on the final day of the season? Where was their heart when they were backing in to the playoffs? Did they just develop it? Washington and Pittsburgh both peppered Halak with shots, sometimes frantically. Without heart, how did Pittsburgh and Washington muster up the strength to throw everything at Halak (crazily outshooting Montreal most of both series), only to be beaten back by a smokin goaltender? Hypothetically speaking, if Halak wasn't so hot, and Fluery wasn't so awful in most games, would Pittsburgh all of a sudden have heart again? It's not out of the question to think if Fluery was anything even approaching average (his save pct was in the 80's and he didn't face a lot of shots), the Pens would have won one more game in this series. Would that mean that the Pens then, had all the heart? Cmon. Jeez. Montreal's system and goalie totally confused Pitt and Washington.
  12. Just because Pittsburgh lost one series, a year after they won the cup, and in a year, where they really weren't that good, does not mean that..... A.) Pittsburgh has no heart. They just won the cup after losing to that same team in the Cup finals the year before. I think they have heart. B.) You could make a pretty good point that the Pens and Wings had the most talent in their conferences the last two years, and they were in the Cup finals both years. Does that mean that no other team had any heart? Pittsburgh was on a Montreal-esque run last year when Bylsma was hired. His record was like 19-3 to finish the year, and the Pens moved from something like 11th in the conference to 4th in just over 20 games. C.) And Malkin has been pretty bad most of the last 3/4 of this season. He's lazy when he doesn't have the puck. He's a friggin turnover machine. Gonchar and Guerin have hit the wall. They're old and have played a ton of games the last three years. Gonch has also still been the steadiest point man the Pens have. Crosby, yeah, I've never him shut down like that. He was frustrated by the Habs. Pittsburgh's powerplay was also one of the worst in the NHL this regular season. They had a few good moments in the playoffs and padded stats this postseason, but it was still inconsistent and downright awful at times. D.) The Pens were 0-10 against Washington and NJ this year. Washington had more talent and crushed the Pens all year. NJ had a better system (does that mean they have heart?) and the Pens were clueless trying to figure it out. It's not shocking the Pens are out in round 2. It is somewhat surprising that Montreal is sending them home though. Although, Montreal, dare I say, with the team they have, had to have been underachievers all year. This team is filled with pretty good hockey players. This is NOT a team of no name players. That really surprised me. They are coached very well. It was kind of fun to watch them play. If the Pens wouldn't have brought home the cup last year, I'd be pissed. However, how can I B word after the ride they've given Pittsburghers the last three years. Kudos to Montreal. They played their game very well. It's a good story now. LMAO @ Versus for losing Crosby and Ovechkin to a Canadian team seeded 8th. Ummmm, that's gonna hurt in the ratings department.
  13. LOL, for only $975??? You probably could have gotten the two shirts and three ties at Kohls for about $70 and nobody would have known the difference. Then, went to the Mens Warehouse, and got two more suits that are not quite as nice as the one's you got, but two suits that people would have complimented you on for $250 with their buy one get one sale. With the $625 you have remaining, you could have then bought two Bills season tickets in the Rockpile.
  14. Yes, Pittsburgh smoked em. Pittsburgh had a team that I think would have beaten any Olympic team today. LOL. However, they were even better the year after the back to back Cups, and lost to a horrible Islanders team at home in OT, in game 7. Although this current Pens team couldn't hold that team's jock, and Montreal is better than that Isles team, today was eerily familiar.
  15. LOL. Don't root for one team over the other. It doesn't work.
  16. Congrats to Habs fans. The Penguins were completely worn out and gassed. Outcoached. I thought the Pens would bow out this year in round 2, but I just thought it would be to Washington. The Pens gave me a great three years in a row. They'll be back. Habs fans, enjoy the ride. There's nothing better than a team on the rise for crowd excitement and enjoyment. Well done.
  17. Yeah, it just doesn't feel right for some reason. Although, this is pretty much how the Pens have been all season. Not bad, but not great either. Think Malkin will actually show up and not turn the puck over 50 times tonight?
  18. You sons a bitches Meazza. I hate game 7s. I've seen my share of victory in my life with Lemiuex, Jagr, Crosby and Malkin. But I've seen a couple of losses too. This one feels a lot like the year the Pens were coming off of back to back Cups, probably had their best team ever, and bowed out to #8 NY Isles in a game seven in Pittsburgh. I thought the Pens would bow out in the second round, just not to Montreal. Unreal story!
  19. This isn't really true in Montreal's case. Montreal, whether they score first or not, does not change their philosophy. It's frustrating. If you want to beat them, you have to keep peppering Halak with shots, and get rebounds. You have to work for it, because it won't come any other way. That's exactly how they beat Washington. Washington is all flash and no work. That doens't work against Montreal. Plus, Montreal might have the best transition game in hockey right now. They look good on offense when they break out, which isn't often, but when they have, they've been great. They Montreal is playing their system very very well. It's frustrating people right now. It'[s much like the Giants vs. the Bills in the SB.
  20. Yeah, but believe me, that's about the first time it's looked that good all year. Their PP has been awful most of the year.
  21. Agreed. How much are tickets going for up there for a 2nd round game???
  22. That's actually a great point. A lot of Penguins also played in the Olympics too. Never quite thought of that. That's a ton of meaningful hockey.
