  1. Exactly. I bolded the part I agree with 100%. It's the Antwaan Randle El syndrome when he went from Pittsburgh to Washington. Only Randle El was even better than making impacts on games. He's not a starting caliber QB. He's not a starting caliber RB. He's not a starting caliber WR. So, he comes in to games, and excels because of the talent around him, when people don't or can't pay attention to him. That's not Buffalo's situation yet.
  2. My best friend is a Jets fan and Jets season ticket holder for 17 years. He called me to make fun of us. Of course he always does. He actually liked Smith, but also thinks he's gotten way overhyped over the last year. He wishes Smith would have stayed with them, but also said if we think this guy is a superstar, then we're idiots. I tend to agree with him.
  3. Absolutely. That's all I'm saying. Although I would call it decent move UNLESS they improve every down need positions. Then this move gets better and better. But, Smith isn't really better than McGee or McKelvin returning kicks. Bobby April leaving is probably the reason we slipped some on ST last year, not our returners. And all I kept hearing was how Spiller was going to handle kickoffs and make the NFL fear him. Well, now Spiller is even less valauable as a first round pick, because we needed Smith. I do understand that McGee no longer returns kicks and gets hurt alot. Ditto for McKelvin. But Brad Smith brings nothing to this team that we haven't seen before out of guys that are still on this roster. It's funny that Terrence McGee has pretty much meant nothing to this roster since he stopped returing kicks. Is McKelvin going that way too? Hopefully Smith will pick up this aspect of our game again. We'll see. Other than that, he's a gimmick. Maybe it'll mean a TD or two in a big spot.....who knows. We can only hope. Thank You! Do you know how many of these guys there are......per year? I'm not even sure Brad Smith, best player in the B-12, is anywhere near a true statement. I'd have to see Texas and Oklahoma's rosters at the time.
  4. LMAO......Jesus, they have guys on there computing NY State taxes to see if "hypothetical" message board offers between the two clubs are close. Holy Crap. They love the guy. GET ER DONE BUDDY.
  5. I'm pretty sure I got that. But on a message board, it's also incitement or egging on. I do apologize for the DQ comment though. Even though it still was douchey (sp?).
  6. I can agree with this. I don't mind Smith. Just don't think this team needed him. I will root for him though. At least your analysis is somewhat objective and makes sense. And, I like what Gailey can do with personnel. But overall he's still a player, that isn't good enough to be a starter at any position on the field, other than special teams, and we have great guys already there returning kicks and punts. 4 Million per is a lot for that. I do hope it works out though.....I don't drive 10 hours per home game to hope we suck. I'm so sick of being garbage.
  7. Don't be a drama queen. Big difference between a pro bowl lineman and a 2nd and 3rd string QB. Who is this guy???
  8. LOL. Breaks my heart! Give me your login, and I'll hit the button for you. I feel what you are saying here, but I don't think that the team with the most versatile #3 QB is the key to making the playoffs. Can he stop the run? Run Block? Pass Block? Lead a defense from the LB spot? That's what I want. If we get Clabo though, I like the Smith signing a tad more. This still makes him a guy that isn't good enough to start at any position. He hasn't even been better on returns than most of our own guys. I get it. Just not impressed. do you really need to be great at #3 QB?
  9. If leakage of reports are true that we got Clabo, you splashed, and I, as a season ticket holder am HAPPY. I can deal with Thigpen, who I like but didn't want to be the only FA guy out there we got. I can now deal better with Brad Smith, because we have what may be considered a decent offensive line now. And if you go get Big Nasty Clabo, I'm greatful to you and Ralph, and the new CBA. Get a decent LB, and I'm ecstatic. Make us happy Buddy. Tell us it's done!!!!!!!!!
  10. Then set the damn mark and get him here. We ahve the cash AND the need. COME ON BABY. Clabo have a twitter page?
  11. Like what? He can throw a pass from a two back set MAYBE once a game plus a wildcat play or two? What else does he give someone other than special teams returns in which this team is already loaded with? We can probably all agree that Levi is toast.
  12. So what you are saying here is that Smith is probably on the field as much or less than Roscoe for 4 million per year? I'd rather take this money and make sure we get Clabo. They didn't utilize him? The Jets made Smith what he is. Pretty much a gimmick, backup player that is a good athlete not able to actually win any position on the field as a starter.
  13. Exactly. This is unreal stupid. Parrish has just as many return TD's as Smith in his career. 3. That would also mean that McGee trumps both of them, and McKelvin, if he doesn't have 3 yet, was on his way. Don't get this at all. He's a toy. You have to be a solid football team first before you acquire toys.
  14. How's this for useful information....... Regular season return stats..............according to ESPN.com....................... Return TD's for Smith - 3 Parrish - 3 Seems pretty close to me. SHould I add McGee's or McKelvin's return stats?
  15. 4 million a year is a ton of money for someone who might touch the ball 8 times......MAYBE. Thank You. Clabo isn't much different than Dockery? Are you kidding me? Really? I stopped there. OK OK, I came back....lol....the only big time FA you've listed was Spikes. And he was fantastic here. He performed as advertised, then got hurt. The other guys were names, but not top tier guys. Clabo is a top tier guy at a postion of SEVERE need that could solve our problems. And we have a ton on money we must spend. What's the problem. When you suck like Buffalo, you have to overpay to get Clabo. Do it.
  16. No, didn't say that. Just don't get guys that we don't need. Pretty simple. Maybe Clabo would like to see more talent. I can accept that point. Maybe, maybe not. I don't know that Brad Smith would be more talent. But maybe. The Bills NEED a guy like Clabo. Every bit of him.....every aspect......they NEED Clabo. They don't need Colon, because he isn't a known commodity because of his injury. They don't need journeyman or average Olineman, because they already have those. They NEED Clabo. Proven, in his prime, nastiness. They should be going all out to sign a guy like that. Period.
  17. I think they did a pretty good job with Parrish last year before he got hurt though. He was making some great plays. I thought Gailey was excellent on offense with what he had to work with.
  18. I'm sure Rex Ryan and Belicheck are shaking in their boots over how to stop CJ Spiller and Brad Smith. Look out now. You put them behind a good offenisve line, then maybe you have something. But yeah, I don't think the league is worried about CJ Spiller at this point. At all.
  19. Really? I must be missing all the GOOD free agent splashes we've hit on over the years.
  20. I can't stand stuff like this. We did sign help. Dareus and Sheppard right? Didn't we also sign McCargo, Maybin, Poz, and so on, and so on, and so on? How'd that work out for us? LOVE our draft. Love it. Problem is, they are rookies and we have no idea whether they are good or not. Undisputable fact. Another fact: We can't get to the QB, our OT's are below average, AND we can't stop the run. SO FIX THE PROBLEMS. We aren't weak on gimmicks. I don't not like Brad Smith. He's just not needed, at this time, on this team.
  21. EXACTLY. Smith would be fantastic with New England. EXACTLY my point. He is effective when he's on a good team and can be their gimmick. Gimmick doesn't work if you already suck, because defenses aren't afraid of anyone else on your team, so it's kind of hard for gimmicks to find space. I don't get it. Smith would be excellent for New England. New Orleans. Indy maybe. Green Bay. Buffalo? Not yet. We have so many holes to fill, we don't need gimmicks, or even guys like CJ Spiller.......yet. Wood and Levitre sound so much more competent when you add a guy like Clabo with them. GET CLABO, then get a guy like this.......maybe.
