Laviolette: "Sabres a bunch of divers"
Lv-Bills replied to Lurker's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You must mean the same heart and energy that Carolina quit playing with at the end of the game when they "handed" Buffalo their last two goals. Cmon man, give up tonight. The Sabres will see better days......today however, they got schooled all night. If they added two more periods to the game tonight, the Canes would have been up 9-3, and maybe would've given Buffalo two more goals at the end of the 5th to make it 9-5. You got smoked. It will be better in game 3. The team that gets smoked almost always comes back and wins, or plays 500% better in the next one. You're in good shape. 1-1, coming off of a bad game, and coming back home. Have faith. -
No, actually it was pretty bad. I've been going to a ton of Canes games down here, and I've never even seen a fight in Carolina. There were a ton of Sabres fans acting like fools on Saturday. It was actually kind of embarassing. They are right, through Habs fans, Devils fans, and about 4,000 or so Leafs fans a game in the last run to the cup for the Canes, alot of the Buffalo fans showed their asses on Saturday, and it was pretty pathetic. I've never seen trouble in the RBC or in the parking lots to this extent until this series. Most were piss ass drunk too. It's amazing what one can see when looking objective, as I'm not a fan of the Sabres or Canes. Now.....that being said.......I can't wait til the same sh-- happens at the Ralph at the opener and we crank up the home field advantage. LOL

Yeah, kind of true. I still think Carolina has royally outplayed Buffalo to this point. I think anyone objectively can see that. As for the first part of the first period, Carolina had alot of good scoring chances, and the Sabres seemed to skate better early and control the puck better. However, your point well taken........I was impressed tonight when Carolina came out smoking and Buffalo withstood the heat nicely early and seemed to actually control the puck well in their attack zone for about 10 minutes. When the Sabres were able to withstand that initial Carolina rush, and look pretty decent early, I was seriously thinking.......man, the Sabres just might be OK here. And then it seemed to fall apart from about the 11 minute mark on. -

Your love for the Sabres is admirable, and hopefully they'll win it for you. However, if you think the Sabres had any chance to win this game, well, all I can say is wow. They were..... Out hit tonight... Out hustled tonight.... Out skated tonight..... Out worked on the boards..... Lost every key face-off to Brind A'mour..... And they let Carolina set the pace of the hockey game..... If you think the #2 seed in the conference only wins a hockey game this way because Buffalo let them do it, well......you're in for a shock should the Canes win this series. The Canes impose their will on a lot of teams, including Buffalo. It just isn't as flashy as when Buffalo is able to do it. If you think turning up the offense is the only key to winning a series or looking good, then you haven't learned a valuable lesson that the Sabres just taught to Ottawa about a week ago. -

I'd call it a wash because Carolina extended their lead, and dominated until they got stupid and sat in the box for about the last 8 minutes, or so it seemed to end the game. After the Sabes scored to make it 4-2, they dominated on their penalty kill unit to kill off the last of the penalty that Buffalo had remaining from the initial 5 on 3. I mean, tonight's game was about the equivalent of a 28-7 fourth quarter lead, with the trailing team scoring a TD with 5 minutes left, and then completing a hail mary, as time expires, to close the score to 28-21. -

I thought they had trouble tonight breaking out more so than in game 1. Funny thing is.......I really thought Buffalo would have killed Carolina in the 5 on 5, and that doesn't seem to be happening yet. Buffalo hasn't been able to solve Carolina's forechecking yet. It seems that Carolina's board work so far is better than Buffalo's 5 on 5. If Buffalo gets it's even strength going, they might just be OK. It looks like both teams will generate some good goals on PP work. Carolina is winning it's part of the dump and chase work. Buffalo's 5 on 5 just needs to breakout and this series will even up play wise. But hey, it's 1-1, with two at your place. Place should be juiced come Wednesday night. -

Did I say they got lucky? If you break this series down so far, Carolina has won 4 of the 6 periods of hockey. Buffalo has won 1. Today's third period was a wash. Carolina got sloppy late to make it that way. The reason the Sabres are at 1-1 in the series is because of the dominant second period in game 1, and Kelly Miller in goal in the third period in game 1. Other than that, they've been severely outplayed. SO FAR. Knee pads huh? I'll pick myself up off the floor when the Sabres can do the same and quit thinking the world is against them. Yeah, the NHL is just clamoring for a Carolina (Raleigh) vs. Edmonton finals right? TV ratings would go through the roof. The whoa is me routine is sickening. You guys got home ice, be happy with a split, and have some fuggin confidence for once. -
HUH? I think Emerick is one of the best, if not the best, national TV announcer out there. He's exciting, and calls a great game. He also calls the Olympics right?

Actually, with Gerber in the nets a ton of the year, the Canes pretty much locked up the #2 seed. Ward has been great in the playoffs, yes, but as of now, I think Miller has been just as good. The goaltending has been a wash. Carolina's forechecking is neutralizing Buffalo's speed thus far. Buffalo has to find a better way to break out of their zone, IMO. -

Good god. Unreal. The Sabres got their asses kicked tonight period. You guys need to quit whining and have some confidence that you got home ice back in your control. WAHHHHHHHHHHH. Have some confidence in the swords, and quit blaming referees. It sounds pathetic. -

Actually there is a long way to go in this series......looking like a 7 gamer maybe? However, so far, and I repeat so far, the Habs dominated Carolina in most of the games the two teams played, but the Canes came out on top. The Habs are an up and coming team. They are young, have major size, and a lot of speed. It wasn't until I saw New Jersey play the Canes that I realized just how good Montreal is, and is gonna be for a long time. After watching Jersey, I realized just how good Carolina is, because they were able to come back against MOntreal. I think at the end of the year, the Habs were 2 notches above the Devils. Just some insight from a neutral observer. Laviolette is right so far. -
How about this cheap shot at Buffalo
Lv-Bills replied to Tolstoy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
lol, they got a point! Who cares. I bet we'll win a Superbowl before the Canes win a Superbowl. Good God I hope so anyway. LOL -
I don't, but he PM'ed me the other day.

I know, that's what has all the Canes fans pissed off. Pretty ignorant, and shocking to their loyal fan base. It was a huge deal. Management in Carolina has been blamed for raising prices so much, supposedly cuz the Canes had the lowest regular season prices in the league. They had a right to B word. It was actually a pretty big deal. But, if Sabre fans end up there, maybe they'll learn their lesson.
-
Oh gimmie a break. They weren't panicking, they were bitching that is was easier and more affordable for non season ticket holders to be able to afford a game or two in the playoffs than it was for their own season ticket holders. They were right. The arena will be full of more of your bandwagon type Canes fans for this round, and a decent number of Sabres fans. I will say this........since I'm just going to see playoff atmosphere.........The Pens are my team................one of the coolest rounds of any playoffs I have ever witnessed live were in 2002 when the Canes faced the Maple Leafs in the Eastern Conference Finals. There were about 3000-4000 Leafs fans at each game in Raleigh. You talk about rowdy. It was really cool. Leafs fans treat hockey like we treat the NFL. GOOD TIMES. Plus, it's always nice when a Canadian team gets eliminated.

Kind of amazing that the Bills had a hard time selling out some playoff games when Kelly and the boys were here to isn't it? But I digress.....it's a young fan base.......the games always end up selling out...just like the Bills. However, the main reason is this.....their season ticket holders kind of got screwed by the front office. People were posting their invoices for tickets and it was kind of shocking. Round 1, Row B from the glass, just inside the blue line where the Canes shoot twice.....$75. I think a $10 increase from season ticket prices. Round 2, Row B from the glass, just inside the blue line where the Canes shoot twice.....$85. $20 increase. Keep in mind now that Eastern Conference Finals prices and Stanley Cup prices weren't announced until midway through Round 2....here they are now...... Round 3, Row B from the glass, just inside the blue line where the Canes shoot twice.....$165. That's an un-announced $100 per ticket increase over season ticket prices. Stanley Cup, Row B..............$175. Tickets in all parts of the arena went up about 200% or more for all season ticket holder seats, for rounds 3 and 4 and no one could prepare. Then, if you plop down all that money, and the Canes don't make it, it's not refunded, but instead credited to season tickets next season. Kinda hard to swallow. To beat the deadline, a family of four, on a week and a half notice, had to surrender $5,440 to potentially see 8 hockey games. That's pretty tough to swallow. Upper deck tickets were the same way.....seats were increased like 240%, and fans were asked to pony up on the money on a week's notice. Not cool. Some fans indicated that they had spent up to $1000 more on the post-season than they did for entire year season tickets. NOT a good way to build a good fan base.

LOL, you won't even have a chance to hear that. The crowd at RBC will start to get rowdy in pre-game about 15 minutes before the game, most likely everyone in the joint will be standing up watching all kinds of cool junk on the jumbotron. Then, the Canes will be out to "Rock You Llike a Hurricane" and the place will be as loud as anywhere in the NHL. If the pace of the game is pretty good, most likely the fans will still be standing two minutes in, and if the Canes get off to a good start, it will be LOUD. Take that to the bank. It is one of the loudest arena's in the league. If the game is close, plan on standing much of the time, especially in the 3rd period. It's an awesome experience.

My rendition of a thread on "the wall"

It really is. The thing you have to watch out for is making sure that you don't get a 2005 Sonata. As the one poster put it, they are ugly as hell. The 2006 Sonata is an all new version. Honda has to think Hyundai is a pain in the ass, because this 2006 Sonata is a better looking, better priced, car. But they basically copied the Accord in spots and upgraded it in other spots. I'm telling you, I see tons of them down here. I got a great deal on one. I got a great deal on my trade from the dealer. Just be prepared to walk away, and mention Honda and Toyota and they'll do anything to get you to buy Hyundai. -

I didn't even think about that. 6 airbags. I'm telling you, you can't beat it. The 2006 Sonata is basically a slightly bigger Honda Accord, right down to most of the details. Look at the Accords, basically the only difference in rear-end is the lights go out on the Sonata, and in on the Accord. I'm impressed with mine so far. I was skeptical becuase it was a Hyundai, but so far so good. 21K and counting. -
Yeah, but how cool would be for us to think she is lesbian.
-
One thing you can conclude though, is that look how much, by reading the wall, that so many have learned today.
-
LMAO, beat ya!!!
-
One thing I've learned from the wall today though, is that, if she's driving this in real life, chances are she's a lesbian.
