  1. Yeah, great take. You obviously have no clue what you are talking about, or you just like being combative. Bill Walsh LOVED Trent Edwards also. I guess that discredits everything he achieved in football. And Kirwan is about the least random guy on the radio, which makes your view of him bizarre. Again, Kirwan is one of the best analysts on the radio. Bar none. When one listens, it's obvious. And the fact that his stint with the Jets wasn't the greatest, he doesn't even hide that. But hey, if you say it enough, someone will believe you. Kirwan's work on the air, is generally well respected by NFL front office types, personnel people, GM's and fans alike. A rarity. And one can learn a lot by listening to him. Not you obviously, because you have it all figured out, but he's unquestionably one of the best. BTW, I don't think Kirwan was ever the GM. He was more of the cap and finance guy for the Jets.
  2. Rarely post much anymore, and I'm hardly an apologist, but Pat Kirwan is the best football analyst, hands down, on the radio. There is no second. Anyone who listens to NFL radio, and any other radio station for that matter can tell this immediately. The guy knows football, speaks it's current lingo, and understands any and all schemes that teams use today. He's connected. His sources are still impeccable, and he's connected all around the league, including small places like Buffalo, which he often praises from his days getting pounded on when he was with the Jets. He frequently can tell callers if rumors flying around are far fetched or grounded in some truth. When teamed with Tim Ryan, they have a no nonsense football talk show and engage callers very intelligently about the game. For some reason, you tune in, not because it's so entertaining, it's because they, mostly Kirwan, know football and are still very connected to the insiders of the league. I would take Kirwan's take, ANYDAY, over anyone else on the radio, and probably TV. He's very good. In a nutshell, what he said about the Bills was that this is a team that looks like it has a bunch of young talent that should get better as the play more. He said, they aren't going to contend right away, but will be nightmares to defend once all the young offensive guys get start getting confident. As for the defense, they will be aggressive. That's for sure. Whether that translates into anything great, he wasn't sure. On Byrd, he hopes not, but usually when things get this far, it usually doesn't mean anything positive for the future. Not always, but usually.
  3. So, let me see if I understand, because the Kool-Aid sure is flowing somehow. So, by Ralph "not being involved anymore", that means the same exact front office is still the front office. The only difference is that they jumbled around a bit. Well, two of them did anyway. Then, I guess the icing on the cake is that because Ralph is "not being involved anymore" people like the mediocre coaching staff, from a mediocre, at best, college football program (and in a horrible conference) came here? And because Ralph is "not involved anymore" we were able to get the guy, who was as much of a defensive coordinator as Curtis Modkins was in Buffalo. Oh, I see. Pass me the Kool-Aid please. Apparently, mine didn't come with as much sugar as everyone else's. Wow. A simple, fantastic, written response.
  4. Is this a serious question? Update: Dang, I didn't even see that this had 5 pages.
  5. This is one of the dumbest arguments that I've ever heard. There is nothing like being at the game live. That goes for Football, Baseball, Hockey, Basketball, or whatever the sport. I am lucky enough to have a mancave with 5 TV's. One large, and 4 small one's in my gameroom to watch multiple games. All HD. Have every package except for the NBA (which I can't stand). There is still nothing like being at the stadium. Nothing even close. Not HD. Not replays. Not fantasy football. Nothing. 80,000 fans and the energy it creates is unreal. I don't care if you turn up your BOSE speakers to 400, you can't beat it. Oh, you have HD? Is that better than live people running around I guess? Not for most people it isn't. Seeing the whole field as opposed to some of it that is captured on TV is much better at the game. And just being around and meeting new people. Nothing like it. The only reason people bring this up, and the only reason the NFL and other leagues are trying to make excuses for fans not attending, is because they are trying to deflect that the damn ticket prices are too high for the average fan and his family to attend games. That's it. There is no other reason. I have Bills season tickets. There is no comparison in being there. If you want to sit here and try to tell me your HD TV is better than seeing all of the home games of two years ago in person.....you're lying. It's not even close. What does suck, however, is that teams have priced out the average fan. If the average fan could afford to go, with his family, or even friends, and money wasn't an issue, this would never even come up. The stadium experience isn't gone. The live game isn't deteriorating. None of that is happening. They are limiting their own paying customers because most families of four can't pay $600 a game to take their family. This stuff cracks me up. The NFL floated this crap excuse that the home experience is better just to stay clear of having to admit they are pricing die hards away from attending live. And it's funny to see people buy it. Solution? The NFL is even trying to sell you more stuff at the game to make it more like home. ROFL. Lower the ticket prices, and people would blindly support again........win or lose.
  6. It looks pretty cool, but absolutely not needed. What a joke these things are becoming, especially if any taxpayer money is used. And either way it's being funded, I can't wait to see the PSL's on this baby. Long live the Ralph.
  7. I'm trying to go back to see when I said that we shouldn't draft speed again, but I do get the message board cuteness you inserted in there. However, Graham wasn't OK. He was pretty much a non-factor on an NFL field. Again though, it was first year, but he showed nothing. And we just picked another one. Another one that is undersized, a track star, with eerily similar stats. I'd have passed. So, would most teams that have a clue. I do, however, hope he works out.
  8. I must not have been able to see from my seats then. Because he basically caught screen passes and gained about 4 yard it seemed, or ran deep in which most of the time he was blanketed. He showed nothing. What WR doesn't get open every now and then? TJ's problem wasn't all on Fitz. TJ wasn't that good in college, and kind of looks the same, albeit early, in the NFL.
  9. And TJ Graham had 99 catches for 1453 yards in four years at NC State, and it really kind of seems like he sucks. Of course, he still has time, but he showed absolutely ZERO last year. Not even a glimpse. Now, we have another one. Oh goody. The pick is horrible. The Bills don't have the luxury of hoping in their situation. As a side note, I was enjoying our draft to this point, so I'm not hating on the whole thing. Again, I just think this pick is horrible.
  10. This pick is absolutely atrocious. I actually like that they were taking another WR, just not this one. If you noticed too, the WRs that were flying off the board around Goodwin were still all accomplished and were getting praise. We took the head scratcher. I liked everything up to this.
  11. I think you are lost in your analysis. You are a Bills fan. I'm a little confused why you think we operate like a real franchise. You're bar is set way too high.
  12. Indeed, and never really had a problem. I've worn Bills jerseys to Indianapolis, Baltimore, Washington, Carolina, and Pittsburgh. The coolest thing was wearing the Poz jersey to the Steeler game in Pittsburgh and getting major props from Penn State fans and the Polish Steeler fans. At the same time, and sadly enough, most fans of other teams don't hate the Bills because they are so irrelevant. Most people just leave you alone or feel sorry for you.
  13. It must be their regionalization efforts.
  14. So, when was Rich Gannon "excellent" with the Chiefs? He played there for 4 years. Barely even saw the field the first two. In the third year, he threw 175 passes with 7 tds and 4 ints. His last year, he started 10 games, went 5-5, threw 350 passes, 10TDs, 6 INT's. That is how you define "excellent"?
  15. No, the front office is a failure for not doing ANYTHING to an already weak roster. To an already weak franchise for long over 10 years. This organization is indefensible.
  16. And again, like the OP said, absolutely no one to replace any of them. Unless of course you are counting on the Bills stellar draft record to find their replacements. So, as bad as these guys listed above were/are, the replacements for them were reprehensible and five times worse. This team is run by a myriad of buffoons. Anyone that can even attempt to justify what they have done so far has their head up their arse. Respectfully of course. 13 years and going on 14. Easily.
  17. Cool chart. Good work! Thoughts? With our schedule......2-14
  18. How in the world are you spending $230 per month on 4 TV's? I'm not the hugest DTV fan, but I have four TV's and the DVR and spend $106 per month. I think, that even is including my Center Ice subscription price of $15 in there as well.
  19. I have DTV only because they are the only provider with Sunday Ticket. I guess I'm the opposite of CodeMonkey, because almost everyone I know that has DTV has it because of the Sunday Ticket. If FIOS gets the Sunday Ticket, my DTV will be history!
  20. Well, I guess I have to be fair, since you asked. They improved enough that a so called major division 1 program can for sure beat 1-AA teams and MAC schools. I think that's a fair statement from the above resume. Be fair, is that the kind of resume that looks good enough to beat the Pats and win the superbowl?
  21. Long time season ticket holder. As frustrated as everyone else. Even though I'm not thrilled with the hiring of the Syracuse coaching staff, I'm with it simply because I'm as numb as every other Bills fan about the last decade and a half. So really, what the hell right? He can't be any worse, and if he is, we'll change again in 4 years. So be it. But really though, a little bit of a breakdown for Marrone's numbers.....while I try to find any nugget of hope that this guy might be decent..... He (and his staff) was: 1-4 vs. the Big Ten 0-3 vs. the Pac 12 3-0 vs. the Big 12, including two bowl wins against 7-6 teams and another against a 5-7 Mizzou team. 5-0 vs. 1-AA teams or FBS Subdivision teams or whatever the hell they are called now. 2-0 vs. the MAC 1-0 vs. CUSA 1-0 vs. ACC And I think that leaves 12-18 vs. the Big East. Didn't verify that. So, in short he was 25-25. Of those 25 wins, 7 were against 1-AA and MAC teams. 1-7 against teams from real conferences. Really had one solid win in his tenure vs. a Northwestern team that finished 8-5, despite three of NU's wins being against MAC teams as well. It's really hard to get excited. Something tells me, I'm moving even closer to the 50 yard line this year, because Russ isn't moving "inventory" anytime soon, unless we trade for Andrew Luck or something else ridiculous happens. I just can't find myself going to the website to get Danny Crossman T-shirts. Go Bills. Semi-Proud, beaten down, season ticket holder. I just want it to end so badly.
  22. Or a bowl game that even remotely mattered in a craptastic Big East Football League, that should fold in the regime's fourth year at Syracuse. Not a shocker. Who knew, that right down the road in Syracuse was the key to the AFC East and beyond. Sorry for not being excited as a season ticket holder to see nothing has changed. Including a VP that now has the reigns, and his analytic football numbers still tell him to sell off home games. Even now, at much less of a price that evens the revenue a lot closer to keeping the game in Buffalo. Yeah, things are real different around here.
  23. Dang, that sucks. I guess Vegas isn't drinking the Kool-Aid, that the answer to knocking off the Pats on the way to the Super Bowl trophy was right down the road in hiring the whole Syracuse staff. Go figure!
