  1. You just ruined my evening, as there are few things I enjoy more than ripping on Dier-doof.
  2. I've never been a big fan of Paul Hamilton's, but for him to claim that there was indeed a fair competion for the QB position, and that The FO is responsible for TE's benching and release is ridiculous. To have a fair competition shouldn't everyone have a chance with the #1"s?
  3. While Fitz has the potential to win a few games this year, as he did last year, are we satisfied with that? I was hoping to see Brohm, to see if he has anything to offer, or if he was truly a wasted GB pick. Leaving him on the bench only means we are taking a QB in the first next year, as Fitz is a nice backup but he will never be anything more. Also by winning a few with Fitz we move farther away from the Plum QB we will need. If on the otherhand Brohm plays and sucks, we are poised to get the QB of our choice, or if he developes into a franchise type QB, it would allow the Bills to address another glaring need with our 1st pick. I'm just getting tired of 6 and 10. Be brave and roll the dice. How much worse can it get?
  4. Totally disagree on panic mode. He misjudged Trent and realized his error. Should he have stuck with him for the season? or half way? Running out of bounds to end the game is acceptable only if you have the lead, and there have been many more errors in the last two games by Trent. Actually I give Gailey an A+ for realizing his mistake and admitting to it this early. He could have waited for Trent to go down and justify it that way.
  5. I'm with you. I used to believe it was Jauron's doing, then I saw some throws into tight coverage this preseason and I thought he just might have a game to him after all but then comes the regular season and it's old Trent all over again. And you're right about the last play against GB WTF! I don't think a hail mary is in his genes. I did read somewhere that Brohm is the opposite of Trent in that he did not practice well, in college but brought it on game day. Could he be the answer?
  6. I agree Fitz give's the bills the best chance at winning now, but to what point? I know all coaches want to win so I guess I'm OK with it, but I hope Brohm gets his shot soon, so we know if we need a QB this coming draft.
  7. What self respecting UFL team would want him? For all his flaws, at least JP got the ball up the field and into the End Zone.
  8. We already have two guards, which is where Bulaga will play his whole career. Ask the Raiders how their "all world LT" Robert Galley is doing.
  9. Listening to that interview gave me the impression that Sully would have wanted the Bill's dump Lynch even if he rushed for 2000 yards and was league MVP, solely for the reason that he abhorrs ML's off field issues. He seems certain there is no chance the kid can turn his life around, and there are a great many fans on this cite that believe the same. I don't condone what he did. He has acted like an immature punk at times, and has made some poor decisions, but he is a talent on the field who has not murdered anyone that I know of. Give the kid a break.
  10. I have to disagree with you. I think FJ certainly has a role on this team. He has a boy scout/under dog personna, which makes him the polar opposite of ML, but if you look at the numbers, and I mean TD's, not all purpose yards ML clearly out shines him. It seems as though a deal is in the works for Lynch and I hope the team gets adequate value in return, but if it happens I believe they will regret the move in the long run. Only time will tell.
  11. When I read the title to your post, the first thought that came to mind was, Tommy Baker was injured. Maybe they could get Dick Weber to come out of retirement.
  12. Good one! Although Joe is pretty dynamic in Criminal Minds. Teams really can't afford to "groom" their 1st round QB's any more. They just throw them in and let them take their lumps. The proverbial sink or swim method, although that could change if a new CBA includes a sensible rookie salary scale.
  13. Wonder where they get their info? Everything I've read said he has great measurables(height, size mobility and great arm), but lacks accuracy. I watched him against SU and wasn't that impressed. Great QB's elevate the talent around them. So far Locker hasn't been able to do that.
  14. So do you feel we should have taken Bulaga? He is currently playing guard, and will probably be a good one but had serious questions as a tackle. If not him who would you have suggested? Our problems are a result of poor decisions in the draft over the last several years. While I'm not sure if Spiller was the best pick at that spot, I'm willing to wait and see. All the holes can't be fixed in one draft. I realize going BPA works a lot better when you have a better talent base team wise, which we don't, but reaching to fill a need can be even worse. I sympathise with your frustration level. You have a great deal of company. I just hope this staff has a legitimate plan in place to get the BILLS to the next level.
  15. Gee! Trent I'm sorry you took offense to my comments. Oh! By the way, teams don't have to change D's to beat you but going to a 3-4 just makes it easier.
  16. Sorry, just trying to offer the Trent appologist's an olive branch. If it were my call Trent would be gone by now. It's time to move on.
  17. I think we're pretty set at guard, it's help at tackle we need.
  18. Dear Chan, Don't simplify the Offense. Edwards is a bright young man, and I'm sure he knows it completely. That's not the problem. He is just hesitant to execute it. You were lulled into a false sense of security, along with the media, when Edwards executed the offense so skillfully against Cinci, Indy, and Detroit. Unfortunately what you folks didn't take into consideration, is the fact that all 3 of the afore mentioned teams play a 4-3 "D", with which Trent is very comfortable. But unfortunately it is the 3-4 "D" which baffles Trent. And as almost every one here knows, the majority of the league employ's a 3-4 "D". Not good news for you, Trent, and the rest of the team. Not to mention the long suffering fan base. May I be so bold as to offer a suggestion or two? Play Trent against the 4-3 teams and Fitz or Brohm against the 3-4 teams. Or dump Trent altogether, and see if Brohm or Fitz are a more viable option. The decision is entirely yours. I hope you choose wisely. Sincerely, A "Long" suffering fan
  19. I agree with you completely. I have never questioned Edwards intelligence. I'm sure he understands the offense, he is just unable to implement it. He seems to be playing fearfully, and is hesitant to stand in and make plays. Other teams pick up on it and exploit it, much like a bully would with his favorite whipping boy. I'm sure Trent knows the offense completely, but he just can't overcome what ever it is that's holding him back. I'm not sure he ever will.
  20. No you can't survive with a QB afraid to take shots down the field on a consistant basis because the D plays run first and stuff's the box, out numbering your blockers for one thing, and also you need to sustain drives to build some momentum, to get into a rhythm. We're not privy to what the play calls or game plan was, but Evans is and he said deep patterns were called but for some reason didn't materalise that often. It's time for the TE experiment to come to an end. Bring on Fitz or Brohm and give either a shot.
  21. I have never been overly impressed with the Tuna. If you look at his record with out Bellicheat as his DC he is more middle of the road.
  22. Great post. I could be wrong, but the detractors might be fans who are worried that Brohm will take Trents job as the starter, where as Fitz is not deemed a threat.
  23. You make some very good points. I've always believed the luck of the draw is the determining factor many times. Right place at the right time, or right coach with right offense. And I just don't get the love affair with Troy Smith. He was cut for a reason, I'm sure, and he is totally unfamiliar with the system here. The way I see it we have 3 QB's on the roster that are capable of running it. Why change?
  24. It's not just the board, but the media as well. I'm not touting him as the starter but he has shown he can be an efficient QB( move the chains, manage the game). Doesn't that fit into the game plan for a predominantly run oriented offense? I just don't get it. The kid didn't cut it in GB for what ever reason, but that was in the past. It's a new ballgame. How about a little support instead. For all anyone knows this kid could be a diamond in the rough, or a lump of coal, but he hasn't had much of a chance to prove either so far. Just my two cents for what it's worth.
