  2. The only thing that does is makes us lose our top pick, makes the team weaker on the field, and gives the team a black eye for future negotiations with free agents. Like it or not the league is big business. Other teams won't stop the cycle just because the Buffalo Bills didn't sign Whitner. If Fox, NBC, and CBS are willing to spend close to a Billion dollars on TV rights, if a 30 second spot will cost you over 5 Million for the Super Bowl, then the 8th overall pick is going to hold out for 14 Million in stead of 13 Million. I hate it, but it's reality and that's the playground you have to play in.
  3. Beauty is indeed in the eye of the beholder....I've done south beach on spring break, Vegas, New Orleans...they all have their qualities that separate them apart. Each has something that makes it great that the others don't. I gotta admit though I do love Buffalo in the Summer. Oh and from my road trip during the eastern conference finals......if you ask the good folks (subjective) of North Carolina who has the fans that party the hardest I think you'll have a consensus....
  4. i think its actual ratings testing by espn...... Espn: Tedy, we're going to report you broke your wrist to see how many people view the story. We just want to see if we need to run all 5637 special pieces we have prepared on you or only 5636
  5. I just want to know what substance is actually strong enough to break a Brushci Bone
  6. That's the attitude that was missing from last years defense..they never took it personally if someone ran them over or if they gave up a big chunk of yardage
  7. Can't hurt to have another former starter in camp pushing for playing time
  8. I would rather put a glowing hot poker in my eye than go 8-8 with Holcomb. Holcomb is a mediocre known commodity while JP is a talent of unknown limits. I'd rather go down swinging than hitting a slow roller to first.
  9. I know Nall hasn't looked very good in camp so far and the injury sets him back, but there's something about the guy. I really think he's a "gamer" type of QB who will get it done if he gets the chance. We had one of the best practice QB's in the history of the NFL (Johnson) and look how he did on Sundays. I don't have anything tangible to make my argument with, it's just an impression I get from the situation.
  10. If by Chemistry developed with Teague under center you mean the left and right guards having to also help out the center then I hear your point. It's a shame because I don't think Teague was as bad of an offensive lineman as he looked most of the time, he was just out of position as has been stated many times. I think the Bills will benefit from a complete attitude adjustment this year as well. The offense will attack and try to exploit the defense more, and the defense will hopefully not attack quite as much. It seemed that last year Jerry Gray had the team blitzing 90% of the time which opened up holes in other areas of the field. I think McGahee will run harder and regain a little swagger on the field as opposed to just off the field (bringing back the stiff arm). Even if Spikes isn't quite the same player he was before, his fire and attitude will be contagious on the field this year. It seemed at times before his injury that he literally willed his teammates to a big play. I think the O-Line will progress into a solid but unspectacular unit. I think the receivers we have can get the job done. We may not have one guy with 90 catches but we'll have Evans with 70 and 2 guys with 45. I'm excited that we have a coaching staff that's been there before, a GM who stresses pride and intelligence over bench reps and 40 times. I'm optimistic this year...9-7
  11. I really like this point.....I can never figure out why Mularkey always had the Bills practicing inside all the time when it got cold because unless I'm missing something the Ralph's not a dome.
  12. I'll second that..the only thing the pat downs do is to make me shut the grill down before I want to because it takes a freakin half hour to get through the gates. Especially in Buffalo when you're wearing 4 layers of clothes. I could hide an RPG under my coat and you couldn't tell.
  13. I wouldn't bet on Peters making the pro-bowl this year. He is still a bit green. I think Vincent will hold his position for the year as Simpson only played two years of college ball and doesn't have the instincts for the NFL game yet. If Whitner doesn't start I'd put my house on Bowen being in there before Wire as well.
  14. They certainly played like a disjointed family on the field as well. You could tell no one bought into the philosophy or direction the team was headed. Hopefully with Marv's experience and the respect that he commands based on his resume combined with his ideological alliance with Jauron will make a cohesive team this year.
  15. No matter how much weight he loses it doesn't change the fact that Mike Williams simply doesn't like football
  16. Good call by Coach...when it's like that outside you run a risk to the big guys and don't really accomplish much coaching wise. He seems like a true players coach.
  17. No offense man but the last thing I'm about to do is stick a deer in my car (see Tommy Boy)
  18. Just wanted to say Happy Football season to everyone, 2 a days are kicking it off and my annual optimism is in overdrive. It's been a long wait but it's finally here
  19. 4th and 7....3 yard pass. Nuff said
  20. Apparently you don't want to drink the water in Minnesota
  21. Porter's good, but he's not 2 first rounders good
  22. The Bengals better get some good work in at camp because they have a difficult first month of the season, just look at the first part of their schedule: Date Opponent Time/Result Sep 10 @Guantanamo Bay 1:00pm Sep 17 @ Attica 1:00pm Sep 24 @Sing Sing 1:00pm Oct 1 @ Tower of London 4:15pm Week 5 BYE (Parole Hearings) Oct 15 @Alcatraz 1:00pm Oct 22 @ Leavenworth 1:00pm Oct 29 @ Devils Island 1:00pm
  23. His sources grew tired of him revealing their inside info to the world so they went looking for him. However the address they had for him was wrong and they had no idea what he looked like nor any idea where he was headed.
  24. I agree that Leinart isn't a good bad weather QB (or at least it appears that way). I'm not sure about Nall's arm strength. You read some reports and they say he has a cannon and throws a good deep ball. Others classify his arm as adequate. I guess we'll find out in a couple days
