  1. Agreed. If Peters plays to potential, we should see less of this blindside sack-fumble stuff. Does anyone know who is filling the RG position? Honestly, I didn't think Reyes was that bad to be benched. I'd rather see CV on the bench. ETA: The updated depth chart has CV at RG. Maybe I'm missing something, but I just haven't seen that much from Chris.
  2. I think that we really should think of this season as JP's rookie season. The turnaround from last year has been tremendous. I think many established, veteran QBs would struggle if given a new coach and offensive coordinator running a new offense with new plays. Add in the fact that the team lost last year's #1 WR, there's a new center snapping Losman the ball, a new starting LG and TE, and serious questions as to the ablility of the WRs behind Evans, and I think that it's really tough to evaluate Losman. I do know that this team has appreciable problems in many areas. Devoting yet another high draft pick to QB (either through the draft or by trade) is not the answer, given that it doesn't address these problem areas, and it also doesn't solve the QB problem, because we will then have an actual rookie behind center.
  3. I think Josh Reed has earned a roster spot. Also I really don't think we need Freeney, he's a big money sack specialist that takes himself out of too many plays by just running downfield. Also, teams have been able to successfully game plan for him... he's no longer the most productive DE on the Colts.
  4. I'm a big BTS fan. I just saw them in DC at the 9:30 club, great show. I know they played Buffalo either shortly before or after the DC concert. Anyways, you in Reverse wouldn't be my pick of their best album, but you can't really go wrong with any of them. I like a lot of different music, and don't listen to the radio, so I don't know what bands I like are obscure and which aren't. I do know that Anthony Hamilton has put out a couple of the best soul albums in years, I first saw him on the Chappelle show. Reminds me a lot of Bill Withers.
  5. You know, I never really thought of it that way.
  6. Back on topic, I don't think that too many tears will be shed over the loss of Air America. Obviously it's problem was lack of listeners, and I actually think that PastaJoe had it partly right. The failure wasn't neccessarily because of the ideology of the station (I think it's safe to say that there are approximately equivalent numbers of libs and cons in the states, therefore there theoretically should be enough listeners to support "liberal radio"), but rather because there is simply less of a market for liberal punditry, for whatever reason. I lean left, and I know I personally don't care to listen to other people spouting off on politics, especially when only one side of the story is presented. Frankly, I don't know why anyone would be entertained by that sort of thing.
  7. Not a fantasy follower, but saw his stats for yesterday's game in Peter King's column, then looked at his yearly stats. His last two games: 19-123-0 TD 32-178-1 TD For the season, he's averaging 95 yds/game. I thought he was a bum?
  8. i hope so.
  9. I saw the game (live in Baltimore, don't have cable, didn't want to spend money at a bar). Joey definitely looked like a step up from Culpepper, despite the stats. He really only made one bad decision all game, and that was the first INT. The second INT was just sort of a bad throw that Welker popped into the air. It landed right in the chest of a fin DB that looked surprised at the whole thing - kind of fluky. Anyways, Joey was much quicker than Cpep in getting the ball out and as a result, was sacked only once. He played a game-manager type game and barring those two bad plays, did pretty well at it. Two caveats: the New England secondary isn't all that great, but in Joey's defense, he also hasn't had as many reps with the first team as Culpepper. Either way, I'm not afraid of the Dolphin's offense. There is no explosiveness. And we must must must throw deep on Will Allen. He had another big pass interference penalty, that led to a score.
  10. my old eyes aren't what they used to be...
  11. I disagree with the original poster that age has anything to do with credibility... But it is nice to see the range in age of TSW posters. The Bills bring people of all ages together!
  12. Great question! The play action pass is a great weapon for a team that runs the ball as much as the Bills do, and even if just attempted, will tend to back defenses off a bit. I missed the last game, but I don't recall a single play action pass in the first 3 games. If I'm mistaken, please someone correct me.
  13. I like the guys we have over Freeney. All our ends are solid in run support. Freeney just runs straight downfield. He's good at what he does, but he'll be expensive, and right now our problem is stopping the run on D, and he can't help us much there (5 tackles in 4 games this season, 0 sacks). Honestly, I think we have a solid core, and should continue to build through the draft, and use free agency to get solid role players rather than expensive big names.
  14. completely off? what about his take on Peters? ETA: he's pretty good about printing corrections, let him have it on the blitzing bit.
  15. I don't think this is so bad of a snub. He was probably at the Ravens game, and he got to talk to Newsome. Plus the Ravens are a 4-0 team, they are going to get more pub than the Bills. All the other safeties got just a sentence. For some positive Bills press, check out what Gregg Easterbrook wrote about Jason Peters in today's TMQ column.
  16. http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/story...terbrook/061003 Some more Buffalo tidbits from the column: I didn't see the game, comments?
  17. What does any of this have to do with the Bills beating the Vikings?
  18. yeah, you;re right. bummer. thanks for the help man.
  19. hey i realized i'm an idiot: look at the pinned thread at the top... links to WHAM and WGR online. tell your brother!
  20. Looking good at the half!
  21. I agree that this can only be a good thing. I still don't completely understand the hatred of either Hillary or Bill.
  22. This pic says it all about Brooks: http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/multimedi...content.10.html
  23. I want to second this. Make it fun. Competitive sports are always fun.
  24. Congrats! I'm about a year away from a Ph.D. in molecular biology. I really hope I can eventaully make it back to WNY (Rochester specifically), but first I'll have to make a detour to the NY/LI area for a postdoc.
