  1. i still cant believe they are going to be paying that much for a rookie safety...that to me is just a waste unless you are getting a game changer
  2. if this is true then its a joke they havent comprimised
  3. what are you talking about? Do you know anything about todays NFL? The point was that is the secondary really the place where you want that much money tied up with each starter making 4+ million? One or two of the guys fine, but all 4 thats just not good football management. I personally would rather see that money on the offensive or defensive line. Look around the league, how many teams have close to 20 mil tied up in the secondary and less then that on the offensive and defensive line combined. Whats the sense of having talent in the secondary with no pass rush? or not being able to stop the run? I love how people are too dumb to comprehend what is said and then decide to rip you for it...get a clue and try and understand what is being said next time
  4. I was just guessing based on what others are getting ahead of him but it should be around there cap wise
  5. Assuming Whitner gets a deal averaging around 4 mil a year that puts the Bills starting secondary close to 20 mil. That will give them one of if not the highest paid secondaries in the league Whitner could turn out to be a good player, I dont dislike him but I was not happy with the pick and I def think thats way too much money to be tied up in the secondary which with any team is only as good as its pass rush I figured the starting salaries for the secondary would be higher then the starting O-Line and D-Line but I was still surprised when I looked at these numbers. I got most of these salaries from BillsDaily but some were not there and I used last years salaries that were listed on USA Today. I also couldnt find anything on Reyes and Peters but even when they are added it still wont come close You win in the trenches in the NFL, not the secondary Vincent - $3.2 mil Clements - $7.22 mil McGee - $3.875 mil Whitner - $4 mil ( projected ) ----------------------------------- Starting secondary - $18.295 Fowler - $1.6 mil Villarial - $3.219 Peters - ? Reyes - ? Gandy - $995k ( 2005 salary ) ------------------------------------- Starting O-Line - $5.814 + Peters and Reyes Schobel - $4.567 Triplett - $1.85 Anderson - $488 ( 2005 salary ) Kelsay - $728k ( 2005 salary ) -------------------------------------- Staring D-Line - $7.633
  6. only a matter of time before BeerBall jumps on your case about creating a thread about a topic that already exists
  7. thanks cool guy
  8. http://sports.espn.go.com/oly/tdf2006/news/story?id=2531225
  9. i wish Gandy was gone this year
  10. I wanted to trade down and Denver was more then willing to move up adding an additional 2nd round pick while only dropping to 15 would have been a better decision, it wasnt a must that their first pick had to be a SS. Adding an additional pick made even more sense since it was all but a given the Bills were going to move up into Chicagos spot late in the first round
  11. thats the point though, when you draft for a need you end up reaching
  12. gonna have to disagree with a couple of these Quinn Early was a decengt player for the Bills, nothing great but solid Although I agree with your CB's listed I would have to add J.D. ( Jaime ) Williams to that list. The Bills took this guy at like 14 or 15 and he stunk and they kept starting him and he kept losing his job to Kirby Jackson Bruce DeHaven was a good ST coach that took the heat for a total meltdown and fluke play DC I would put Walt Corey, the guy coached scared TE could be Lonnie Johnson, I was pumped when the Bills got him and he never panned out
  13. There were a lot of bad plays during that game that cost the Bills the victory but one of the biggest was a holding penalty on the kick return on that final drive making the Bills start at around their 10 instead of around the 20....this turned out to be a HUGE penalty. I believe Kelly ran the ball on the first play getting the Bills near the 20 but the clock was running and cost the Bills important seconds UGH, why did I read this thread....no gaurantee Anderson would have made the kick either....but I didnt know what had transpired with his contract and missing kicks, does seem a little shady
  14. middle tier at a key position doesnt cut it for me....I would take any one of the 18 LT's listed above over Gandy and even though D'Brick hasnt played a down in the NFL I would take him also so you can make that number 19 you dont win in the NFL with an average at best LT
  15. the issue then is why rent Nate for one year when the team is clearly not in a position to win...wouldnt it have been better to trade him
  16. they played a great game but that defense was far from awesome, they were run over all year long
  17. Tomlinson is the best back in the AFC West and they didnt even make the playoffs last year....KC has Larry Johnson and they didnt make the playoffs either having the best back in the division doesnt mean much unless you have the best team as well
  18. just because the line cant be any worse doesnt mean it will be any better either best back in the AFC East...is this really what it has come down to, fans hoping Willis will be the best back in the 4 team division. We used to have high goals as fans, playoffs, winning the div and maybe getting home field advantage and now its can willis be the best back in the div
  19. I was in Rochester for the first time last year and I dont mean to offend anyone but it is without a doubt the gloomiest place on earth. Its not a young persons place either, not a lot of places to hang out and really isnt booming economically which is probably the main reason why people are leaving. You have to go where the jobs are and with the exception of Xerox and kodak what else is there. Living in South Jersey I am forced to travel across the bridge to PA for decent employment. At some point I know i am going to have to move I am just putting it off as long as I can
  20. Vincent is always about the players and will always defend them but yeah that was a pretty lame statement
  21. man I remember all the people on the other board thinking he was such a great signing too and I just didnt see it...If he was any good Balt ( who was in need of lineman anyway ) would have at least shown some interest in resigning him
  22. the McGahee bashing is just getting real old
  23. Edge was doing the same thing before he earned his place in the league
