Bills are clearly in win now mode and since they don't hv a first I highly doubt they use the 50th pick on a QB I also don't see Petty going in the second and think he will prob be there in the third and maybe even the 4th

I never understood the way some teams and especially teams with new coaching staffs simply refuse to use preseason games for what they are which is live practice vs an actual opponent. I understand the injury concerns but with less actual practice time these days and even less contact why not actually use the preseason games. Its an opportunity most teams simply waste.

Why does it feel like he is as good as gone? Dareus counts over 8 mil on this years cap so lets say his cap hit for 2016 is 16 mil that would only increase his cap hit another 8 mil which if needed could be freed up easily. Dareus is also the one player I think the Bills would use the Franchuse tag on so with all that plus the way the cap continues to rise do you still think he is as good as gone?

Did you even watch Schaub play the last few years? He is DONE! I would rather beg Orton to come out of retirement again and I don't want to see Orton in a Bills uniform again What would releasing Tuel from the practice squad have to do with signing Schaub?

I agree and think Julius ends up as the free agent bust for this year. Peyton can make just about any TE look good.

Win and win now? They are nowhere close to being built to win now and play in same division as Denver and KC...I don't think they are even a bubble playoff team at this point.

What else has SD had on offense in recent years? Gates is still productive but nowhere near what he used to be. They haven't had a good WR since VJack left, no real running game and until last year a below average oline. Why would they keep him and risk losing him for nothing next year? SD is most likely not seriously competing next year and Rivers has said he will play out last year of his contract instead of signing an extension. It prob won't happen but it's an intriguing thought that's not completely out of the question.

If you are going to compare Clay vs Julius Thomas then you have to consider all of the facts. Julius Thomas played with Peyton Manning in a pass happy offense and rarely faced more then single coverage. Clay played with Tannehill in an offense with nowhere near the same talent. How is signing anyone to a 5 year 38 mil contract anywhere close to mortgaging the future? The cap is 143 mil and continues to rise at a fast pace.

I've said a few times that I would not be surprised if Rivers would be made available this offseason since he is in the last year of his contract and is closer to the end of his career then the beginning. He may be easier to get now in a trade then waiting until next year in free agency especially with SD not really considered a serious playoff contender.

I agree with this, was not impressed with Wood's play last year and dont remember him being that good at guard when he played there either. Thought he was better when he moved to Center but he was just as much a problem last year as either guard was

Harvin has his issues but he is an amazing talent and would just add another dangerous weapon to this offense.

I can think of a couple reasons why this could fall apart. Either the Vilings got a better offer from another team or the Bills have decided to go in another direction. Another possibility of what could hv happened is maybe the trade was contingent on Cassel taking a pay cut as part of restructured contract and they couldn't agree.
